I wish I didn't have school, so I could just play and train all day, do any of you think the same?
Yes I completely agree at the time I’m watching this I’m just thinking about training and waiting for math class to start
if you plan your day right there's no reason you can't train as much as you want as well as going to school
@@AthleteExpress1 i agree but school is sometimes boring and demotivating so I which I never did it at all
@@AthleteExpress1 ur completely right no matter what u always have time, thanks for getting that back in my head appreciate it
I think the same but there is Always the next hint of what if you don’t make it pro so you need a plan 2
Your touch is f’ing crazy 🔥 I don’t think people understand just how hard wall juggling is. You’re killing it
For real🔥
I mean people just think that wall juggling is just kicking ball slow and stop it but it's actually about focus about where u want to pass it and how u connect it
I mean if your a pro then you should be able to wall juggle.
@@jesusgonzalez-ge1vt Ya but he has a good touch for a pro
i hate to break it but it really isnt man. just practice
he deserves to be in the MLS
His work ethic is MLS level for sure even better💪
I believe what both of you said I mean he should why not he is on the MLS
No one deserves anything either you make it or you dont
Being mentally strong and having the right mindset is literally everything as a player. I used to have no confidence or drive for a while and it definitely showed on the pitch. I may make a video about how it has affected me in college. I am doing much better now thanks to videos like this and people inspiring me 🙏🏼
Please do!
Yes please make a vid on it! I’m trying to go to the US to play football/soccer and struggle with confidence :/
Soccer is at least 80% about mindset and mentality and 20% physics.
advice for kids who want to do the same thing as you but are stuck at home for 8 hours doing school then even more hours doing homework who can’t even train and go to pitches and workout like you bc school even though I train and workout everyday in the gym and bust my ass but I feel like school drains young athletes
There’s a kid I saw a couple years ago and he had some sweet talent but school made him stop sad bro
Just remember your goals and your why nobody is motivated all the time
School is not an excuse go train before school

This Series is interestingly good 🤔
Every year
Love this off-season serious watched it since Germany
Better than Some Neflix Shows🤩⚽️🙌🏾
This is awesome especially in lockdown. Thanks for making my days more joyful🙏💪
Thank you so much for answering my question! You’ve always been a great example of how to deal with struggles so your actual actions have been a great answer to my question, but I really appreciate you taking the time to verbalize an answer! Keep up the great work!
Matt is really humble and I love that he never show off even will all the subscribers that he has now. He’s always the same and I like that aspect of him a lot.
Buzzing for the Offseason series to be back! Keep up the good work Matt! 🤝⚽
Buzzing for your videos a lot too now. I love the content that you put💪

Yes bro 💥💥 can’t wait to come down and beat you in two touch 🤣 I’mma be back posting on UA-cam this week so be ready for smoke 💨
lmfao
Keep up the good work! Production quality of that lifting intro was 🔥🔥 very fun to watch.
Love the offseason episodes, some of these workouts I use myself and are very beneficial especially for soccer players! It's really good how you start light then go harder as the offseason progresses. Good-luck Matt with future endeavors and hopefully everyone in this comment section stays safe also!
Thanks matt for this useful drills...always thankful.. may god bless you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hey Matt, just wanted to say the quality of this series is super high. Keep the good work up man❤️

Love your vids Matt!
Great editing, great advice, great example.
Great stuff! Thank you for sharing your journey.
Hey Matt! Thanks for uploading these types of videos, you’ve helped me a lot with my development as a player. I’m in my clubs youth system right now and striving to join there academy. These videos are huge for me and my development to get to where I want to be. So thanks a lot man!
Love the video you’re like the only youtuber like life that I follow religiously. Offseason is my favourite series. Been here since Germany days!
Love the series bro keep it up
Great second video! Would love for you to create a video answering how to deal with long term injuries and what you can do To keep your head in the game despite being out for 6+ months. I know it’s a bit similar to what you addressed in terms of the mental side of things, but would love to hear your opinion on the football/practical sides of this. 💪🏾
LOVING this series so far ❤️⚽️
Loving this new series! Much love brother ♥️🙌
Amazing serie brother you are right💪💪💪
Looking forward for more amazing content!!
Feels like it is going to be an amazing journey
I feel like too. I love his videos a lot and he inspired me to start my own UA-cam channel✊
Matt, you are so great and you have such a great channel! I’m not a soccer player at all, but rather work with languages and music, but, funnily enough, I get a lot out of watching these episodes. I guess they’re just so well done that they work for all kinds of people. Thank you, and the best of luck for your playing and soccer career. Many greetings from Pukki Land, which is Finland. 🇫🇮
Your work is amazing you inspire me everyday to become a better footballer
I’ve been connected with this channel for 3 years now and have taken so many of matt’s programs and love how they work. It’s got me from playing amateur to one of the top 3 academies in the country and hopefully when I turn of age I am prepared to go into the pro phase.
Love the series
Matt’s different camera angles and editing is soo underrated. Even the drone clips, it looks so simple but little do you know he has to fly it up and edit. It’s like Casey wrote a book and gave it to him. Love this mans football and his brand/image.
The quality on Matt’s videos is always so so good! Keep it up!
He has great tools for filming and we can definitely see the results in the quality of his videos💪
I learnt something from you today. Short and consistent vs Long and inconsistent
He makes wall juggling look easier than it is no capppp
Keep up the good work man💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
He is the most hardest worker UA-camr I have even seen💪
Keep the work bro
Mr. Sheldon, thank you so much for chronicling your football journey for the world! It has been so incredibly valuable for my kids and me. Soccer is a game I learned with my children and it has completely consumed our lives (in the best way!). You have been an integral part of our journey, teaching us the value of hard work and dedication through your example. We've even learned how to analyze the game and build that soccer IQ using your film review as a guide. It's been amazing!
We've been following you since your St. Louis FC days (my daughter plays for SLSG) and actually got to pat you on the back after a game at Soccer Park!
Hated to see you go, but still follow you in Tulsa!
Keep up the great work and continue your climb to the top! We are rooting for you! All the best to you and Mimi!!
The music in this series so far has been amazing, downloaded the songs from the last video & I'm gonna download this one too
Yeahhh, let’s go💪
One of the best gym montage ever
Thanks this will help a lot
Also I have to say this : this off-season program has the best audio-video quality and editing skills. Keep up the good work on and off the field
Please do more of these, even if it's once a week, I want to start on Var next year and your giving amazing tips
Love your videos Matt, keep going ❤️, MLS contract coming soon
that first touch is crazy!
sick keep up the good work
I went to my high school field everyday during the summer for 3 hours. I feel like it helped me improve in all ways. Mentally. Physically. It helped me built my character. It made me persevere and want to continue to improve. Watching your videos help me mentally too. Whenever I’m not on the field training with my team or friends or by myself, I’m watching your videos. Thank you Mat!
The best thing that has helped me with my playing career/life is learning about stoicism. Teaches you to only focus what’s in your control and focusing only on the present moment. So I strongly recommend you guys give that a suss.
Confidence is what truly defines everything, i use to play very good in my indoor season and be considered one of the best. After a lot of things changed in my personal life and me just not feeling as good anymore, confidence dropped and i went to bench. It dropped so much to the point i’d only play 5-15 mins a match which is not much.
Bruh, you need to make a spotify playlist for these songs
Best series on UA-cam
Love this videos
I totally agree with what u said about doing hard shit this is a total coincidence because I just rang my coach and hour ago and asked him to ask the coach of the team above me if there’s any chance of a trial
brooo those epl balls, cheezzzzzz straight up flames
Yessss here we goooo!!!
Just subscribed. Great video with some quality information, can’t wait to watch more!
Good choice, he is awesome💪✊
And I completely agree with the experience to get tougher saying
For Q&A: are you looking at staying in the USL?? Or where do you see yourself in the future. Maybe out of the country??
thank you for making this video
I was half expecting the ball to smash the glass windows...nice touch btw!
It must be awesome having Mimi there to film for you.
Mimi is amazing for him. He would not be uploading like he did without her. She deserves a lot from helping him and supporting him. We cannot forget about her when we say become elite💪👊
Hey Matt
I think everybody could benefit if you shared the top 3-5 habits/drills/exercises an aspiring young player should work on to become a pro in their respective position. You can share what your teammates were working on during the off/in-season by position. Example: what did Dario work on to be able to score 8 goals this past season? What were Sean's top 3 drills he did to keep sharp in net? Could be related to soccer drills, fitness workouts, watching game videos, etc.
Let’s go another vid
Beastttttttt🙏🏽🔥🔥🔥
Waiting for diff types crossing vid. Mans really improved his crosses last season. Hardwork definitely gets results
Also to add on mental toughness, I think pro football is gruesome and if you don't have the resolve and just want an easy life you better quit. It's not for everyone and only those who are strong(not just on the game but also mentally) can play at the higher stage
U LOVE TO SEE IT 😭, I miss this
Matt i think you should bring back analysis of other players like you did with Sergio busquets back in the day
Hi Matt,
My question for you is how do you increase speed endurance,
I play winger and sometimes wing back, and I have a problem with keeping high intense bursts thoughout the game, for the first 20-30 minutes of a game I check in much more and am on the ball a lot but when the match progresses this effort goes down when I get very tired. I started doing the John Terry challenge and it seems to be working, but do you have more workouts for this ?
Thanks, Help Would Be Appreciated
Adam
I am struggling with the same thing, but I play CAM
So interval running 15 sec 70% sprint 30 sec job repeat it will help that’s what I did to get ready for my trial back in February
I think you're describing a problem in stamina. You just have to run more to be able to withstand more. But don't forget to rest enough for your body to recover.
For the Q&A, I’m a 16 year old high school player. Should i be doing what you do during off-season, the strength training in the same day as a soccer workout, or should i be easier on my body? You are a professional and I’m a varsity athlete and there’s large differences between us, but i want to get better. I am just worried about overworking myself and/or under working myself so I’m not able to be the player i want to be in the future. Thanks
You clearly deserve more subs
Two touch one touch wall juggling always gets me. The technical part is easy its just the mental part of it.
I’m high key hoping a Canadian Premier League club picks you up. It’s a maybe slight step up from USL so I’d think its progress and to see you in the games would just be really cool
I don’t think it’s a step up.. all pro leagues are competitive but I think the usl championship is a notch above the cpl
@@nicholasbertocchi9697 I agree the cpl is drafting students from Canadian university’s while usa university’s students struggle to play usl league 1
USL might be a bit better.
7:45 woah... he just explained my exact situation
Love the video what do you do before training .
Amazing video..... Please keep uploading 😁😁😁😁😁
I’ve been medically diagnosed of depression from the past 3 years and I’ve gone so low that I’ve tried 3 serious suicide attempts, landing me in the icu, getting in mental hospitals and stuff and all through that time I’ve played at a high level. Now altho I still am on medication and stuff, my mental training everyday helps me a lot both on and off the field
damn bro hope you're ok
Hey Matt,
Can you break down defending corners? Man vs zonal marking for corners, one person on a post (front or back), both posts covered, or none, and what you prefer out of those?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Q and A: hey matt i have been having a lot of trouble improving because i have become a very technical player. i have been working for a while and i feel that i have really gotten good first touch, good skill moves, and good close control. i have noticed though that some of the best players at my club hardly ever get pushed off the ball and i can be pushed off the ball pretty easily. i am a really small guy though and i am barely 90 pounds even though i am thirteen. so my questions are: how can i be more powerful on the ball and not get pushed around? are there any specific muscle groups that help you become more powerful? besides just getting stronger what are some ways to use your body to your advantage and push away the defender? how do you protect the ball when you are doing something besides just standing and shielding like running, passing, and taking on a player? and finally what are some good exercises that will make me more powerful that doesn't include big weights and won't make me smaller than i already am? i know that was a lot of questions and you don't need to answer during the offseason series, but i have searched all over the internet and i can't find anything like this. by the way thanks for making quality videos, they really help.
Nice video!
I swear he’s been stuck at 300k subscribers forever. This guy deserves way more for the work he’s putting in compared to other “influencers.”
Question for the Q&A: since you have played in multiple different places not only across the US but also in Germany and New Zealand what do you think the biggest differences in play style are between the different teams you have played for, and how do you adapt to new playing styles that may me completely new and different than what you have done in the past.
that saint louis has a really nice emblem imo
Any tips on how to really believe In yourself and be more confident on and off the field.
waiting you and cycling gk to collaborate that video will be best in youtube history
Q&A: Matt how hard is it to become a top elite player(Like EPL player,Laliga,Seria A etc..) and what is required. Thanks for the offseason series 🤘🤘🤘❤❤
That background music is lowkey fireee
How does this man only have 500k subs he should have 1.5 mil
Its Actualy true that many start football from kicking a ball on a wall. I was One of the them but I had already give up on academy football. It was late when I wanted to Come back . Now I am focusing on finiding a carrer on football is some other way
Man Oregon is beautiful
I love how I’m in season as he’s in offseason
Can you please make an episode where you show us what to eat to keep a healthy weight throughout the offseason.
Q&A: I read the book "Relentless", you recommended. The author talks about the "Zone", where you don't think about what you are doing next. I also sometimes had this feeling, but top class players have this more often. Do you get in this zone every game and how do you get there?
In soccer, there is always something to do next on the field. You have to be always in constant movement on the field. It can be to defend or to attack but you always have to think of what’s going on and will happen. It is really the smartest that wins games🤞
He's a consistent player
I like that.. I want that👌😉
QnA:
All of us know that you are a pro baller that constantly works on all aspects of your game both physical and technical.
Is it possible to lose technical skill or lose your touch after a period of not training similar to how you can lose muscle mass or fitness and stamina over a period of no training? How long would it take for you to regain your technical skill back and how long do you think it takes to regain back one’s fitness?
When you start to feel yourself plateau what kind of things do you do to try and offset that? Recently I’ve been in my longest stint of consistently training for almost 6 months but I feel like My improvement isn’t speeding up as much as I was torwards the beginning of training.
Matt , how do you organize you routine ? Like when you go workout you focus on hitting each muscle group? Cause I usually do that , and I’m not sure if it’s a good way , or rather do a Compact moment that can hit all those parts.
Really want to know what’s your schedule like .
since your into sci-fi , a book I really liked was war cross by marie lu , it's slow at first, but get's interesting over time
The long range wall volley looks so simple, yet that tests 100% your first touch. Amazing video as always Matt.
My question: (I understand your answer might not be exact) As a well known UA-camr, Do you have a hard time with other players challenging you every time they meet you. As in even though you are doing UA-cam. They say they are better than you. And of they are in the opposing team they critique you during, before, or after the game?
Q&A: As a pro, you have so much pressure. From your own team, the fans,... You need to play good every week. Who do you deal with this pressure on the field? Probably it comes also from experience, but are there mabye some tips you follow?
Q/A can u do a summary video of your whole career
