@@madarauchiha2955 It does. Having that mindset helps with training for sure, but it filters out into your daily decision making too. In many ways, it's not just a run; you're training yourself and your mind to overcome hardships and to keep going, no matter what.

Been planking , walk - run , resistance training with bands and tons of jumping jacks . Last rehab is this Saturday back to push ups hope to drop to 230’s over the next month . This is so timely. It's all about the conditioning of the mind. I worked in a school, that was one of the toughest schools in the city. It was difficult, coming from a school - from a privileged school, it was hard to adjust. The kids were angry, the teachers were angry, the administrators were indifferent. I would sit in my car for about 10 minutes before I could walk into the building some mornings. It wasn't until I conditioned my mind to accept were I was, and go in and do what I was hired to do. My entire school year changed, I went to work and laughed at things that should have made me cry. Conditioning your mind is the key.

That is not the way to live. They want you to wear yourself out, to be beaten and broken down. When your heart and your brain say to stop then you stop. You don’t over exert yourself. That is not the mentality they should be teaching. Take the breaks you need. Life is not about pushing harder and harder and overworking yourself. Life is actually about slowing down, listening to your heart and soul and caring about life, about growing things. You need to slow down and take a look at life, not speed up like that because then you will miss all these important things you need to see from existence. Don’t work too hard.

When your brain lies to you like that, your heart knows it’s lying and that’s why you are asking this question to me right now, because your heart knows deep down that your brain lies sometimes. If you feel that you need to push further and it’s what you want, there’s nothing wrong with that at all. Just don’t be too lazy and don’t over exert yourself. It goes both ways 🙃

Same! Just graduated on Friday and couldn’t have made it without reminding myself constantly of Goggin’s words. I’ve always had a fear of failing in academics and him reminding me that my demons will ALWAYS find me, that you can’t run from them…it reinforced my decision that it was time to face those fears, to “face those motherfathers”…there was a lot of times of four letter words out of frustration, wanting to quit and throw in the towel, etc but I remember his words of finding myself in the suffering and the importance of becoming someone I would be proud of myself….graduated with honors and heading into graduate studies next month. Couldn’t have done it without this guy seriously. I know more bouts of four letter words, fears and doubts arising, etc are going to come but I just need to STAY HARD

I was preparing for a run but suddenly so much happen and so much arguments to not go right now.
I pushed my self and went outside and just started running. After 3.6km I did check my location and realised how far I went.
This moment was very different for me. I didn’t even imagine for me to run that far.
