Yes Miz won that battle, in the last round what I remember was he ducked behind the table and all you saw was a pair of hands, then he would pause, peek his head above the tables, then disappear again, and the hands would resume... The crowd went ballistic.
The battle was crazy! This vid doesn't show it but Miz was quicker than everybody that day, but Aladdin had more tricks with the breaks he would change the drum pattern so that record sounded like something brand new. Like with "Dance to the drummers beat" he made it sound like something real slow and funky.
It wasn't no beef about it though, Aladdin was in there throwin up signs and all that so we knew he was crip but, it was all about skills in there and Everybody there was impressed with Aladdin! His shit was brand new to me and everybody else in there that day if Miz didn't adopt Aladdins style he wouldve lost. but Miz was fast then a mafuc that battle was fair.
The White Ones with the Blue Chip were the truth. You had to set the tone arm height to about 1 1/2” to 1 1/4”. After that, the most you would need is a penny on the head shell! Learned this form Cosmic Kev in Philly. He used them instead of the Shure M44-7. The Shures tracked well but ate your records to shreds.

You had to be REALLY gentle with those records back then, those stanton needles werent great at all. I hated them.
