It's very obvious that your two biggest fish were not just a coincidence or dumb luck. You are out there putting in the work rain or shine, hot or cold and putting out good stuff showing what, where how and why. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family and congrats on 8K subs.
I'm with you, I love the hunt! Fishing Open water is one thing but I like too find the hidden monster on cliff edges or in a brush pile. Love your spirit man. Some times when it's cold I find a big flatty on the edge of a rock cliff
@@jimmycatfishhunter thank you. Yeah the chase is it for me. Then when it pays off its a fantastic feeling. I have found a few places that have a rock cliff that I'm going to hit. I found one place that has a bunch structure right at the bottom. But the day I seen it there was a bunch of current. But I'll get out and see what's living there.
Still another good day, thanks for gettin cold for us!! Around here best way to watch a front come in is out a shooting house window!!! Fish may do something in a day or two when sun comes out. Enjoyed it again.
I know you are going to get back to the big ones soon because you are putting in the time. As far as prefrontal fishing. I noticed it is good as long as it is not a big front and change the water temp to much as it comes in and make the fish uncomfortable. Be blessed. My brother.
Well Done Micka. Another no skunk winter day of fishing. Winter months are slow. It seems my better days in Winter are when everything is stable: Consistent flow, consistent barometer, not full moon, get the surface temps up and the bait active either from warmer air or decent sunshine.
Hello 👋 Micka, on the subject of pre cold front fishing, I don’t have any real experience here in Tennessee. In Oregon pre front fishing was generally pretty good fishing conditions, but I didn’t fish for catfish there. We either ocean fished off the rocks or small river fishing for trout and salmon. As for the day you had fishing, I would be tickled to have a 20+ pounder on top of several eating fish. Blessings to you and your family 👍💪🙌🙏🌈✌️🐽🐷🐖
@@KunesRGr8 thank you. Yeah most pre fronts are usually pretty good. Just seems like when a cold front starts to move in it really messes with them bigger for. Or it's just I start to get cold and don't make the right decision 😂 .
Micka, I wouldn't dream or presume I know anything about anything anymore, but In my past experiences... Pre cold fronts seemed to pan out better along Creek mouths in the deep channel cuts. I believe it's because it gives them quick access to multiple conditions. Still, only one way to find out ! Good luck young brother! Stay safe and enjoy it all ! Edit: I just got my new "Beanie" in. Thanks again!
Would you recommend dragging during the day and anchoring at night? Or just anchor since they aren't that active? Im in Alabama fishing Pickwick/Wilson and wheeler lake
@mickaburkhart14 good deal! I just gotta find more anchoring spots. Spots I've been to have been slow or hasn't been producing much but not sure what to really look for when anchoring besides trees
Thanks Micka for another great day on the water 😊

@@fredziffel3443 well turns out you are pretty much right on the money with the deep channel cuts or ledges. I ended finding some fishing those.

I find if the pressure is actively falling the bite slows down..
@@dboyMMA7100 ok well that definitely makes sense.
In the channel, same place Spencer was catching um.
Yeah that's been the pattern as of late.
Rain coming Monday 54° tomorrow 25° rn thinking I try tomorrow. Let's see that would be post cold front pre rain front gotta be a winner...right😅
@@vbarranch4424 well at the very least it wouldn't be a terrible idea to try it.
It seems to me like in the colder water that when the sun is shining that is when there more active
@@ronniebotteron9924 yeah I've noticed that also.
The dropping pressure I do good but once in has dropped and stalls it seems to be over.
