I knew your knowledge and dedication and determination would win out and get you a big one. Great trip. Have a wonderful Christmas with your family. Be blessed. My brother.
Mika, your vids are always enjoyable. I believe I'd have stayed right there catching those nice blues. You always show us or teach us when the bites aren't coming. Thank you, sir.
When you catch a 50 pd catfish your day is made everything else is just icing on the cake Really nice one Mika Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours
The worst decision is not making one for fear of being wrong. There's always a fish biting somewhere - just have to find it and for that, decisions have to be made, right or wrong. I would say you made some good decisions, each one built from the last. Great message in this video.
Good morning 🌞 Micka, I’m sure that I sound like a broken record, if I were able to catch eating size catfish that close to the ramp I would be thrilled. Don’t get me wrong, catching any fish over 20 pounds would be awesome. We just love ❤️ eating fish so much that we could eat it several times a month. What an amazing fishing trip, congratulations 🎊, a mid 40’s, a mid 50’s and numerous eaters 👍💪🙌🙏🌈✌️🐽🐷🐖have a wonderful day and stay safe, blessings to you and your family
Too cold for my old bones, but it's always good to see young healthy men being young healthy men ! GOOD TIMES ARE AHEAD OF YA, MICKA ! (But don't sore lip all of em, us amateurs still want a chance!) 😂
A couple of nice Christmas gifts for the Micka 👍👍your definitely dialing it in!!just a thought maybe they bury in the mud for two reasons , get out of the current and the temp. mite be warmer in the mud🤔🤔don't know just a thought, Merry Christmas y'all!!
A good day in my book. Good job. I feel like over here on the Mississippi they are the same for the most part. Just for thought I've noticed the last month or so the commercial guys are fishing on the top of the water.
Well Done Micka! A 40 and a 50 in December? True Trophies! You are truly a catfishing master. What I found interesting was that they were both fairly dark, which usually means they have not been solely in deep water. You asked for what we see in cold water, but you don't need my input. Over here on WB (part lake part river) intermediate depth structure (30 ft), creek mouths and some deeper variable ledges are the only places to catch them in December, and those spots are very closely guarded secrets because they are rare on this part lake/part river. Deep holes, main channels, river bends, deep points, (summer hot spots) are completely off limits no bueno from December to February. We can catch numbers by dragging shallower flats, but not 20+ big ones. I guess, like you said, they want easy food without expending energy, and they tuck into "something" where bait is coming by. Merry Christmas to you and yours and Lizzy and thanks as always for the excellent content.
For us, in the Louisville, KY stretch of the Ohio River, the bite has shutdown pretty hard. Water temps dipped to 42 and they are just not wanting to bite. Water came up about 15’ too, coming back down. Creek mouths were really trashed, no luck at them. What’s your experience when the water gets that cold?
@@charlesharkins8034 ok i can definitely show it but I just run the gopro 11 and a wireless mic for the audio. It works really well but I can go over it for sure.
Great video. Short striking days…. Other than smaller baits do you have other tactics? Can you hook the bait any different? Just curious your thoughts. Thanks for videos! Merry Christmas.
@@keenejoel thank you. Yeah a couple things that you can do is run a double hook rig or possibly a stinger hook. Downsize baits possibly. That would help with short strike hook ups.

Our rivers in SC if you don't have drag you wasted a trip to fish usually the congraree has good curr😂ent and the wateree got decent flow
@@robertwoodward388 yeah this river is alot like that. The flow definitely determines the bite.
👏👏👏

Typically I'd go deep but but here lately I've been finding fish on shallow flats or next to them. Roughly 15 to 25 feet of water.
Have you ever tried dragging the opposite way you dragged to see if it is the direction of the bait moving?
@@zackcarter9596 i have when there is little to no current but to much current that day.
