The super Hotshot and Fox were my two favorite buggies back in the day. Won a lot of races with those two.
What a great looking buggy the Super Shot is. Thanks for braving the cold and sharing the action!
Thanks Wade 😊👊🏻
I had a toy grade RC when I was a kid that looked a lot like this. I chose it because I couldn't afford a hotshot and to be fair I loved it and it was the fastest thing I'd ever owned up til then. I remember it fondly, it was called the Land Dash by Yonizawa. It was pretty capable considering it was a toy. It took 7.2v Nicad batteries. Any one of the jumps in this video would have broken the front shocks though!
Thanks Neil 😊👊🏻
That was awesome!!!! The Super Hotshot is by far one of the best looking buggies ever made, absolutely stunning. Great video as always, can't wait for the next one👍😀
Yeah totally agree Barry, it’s a thing of Beauty 😊😊😊
TAMIYA SUPER HOTSHOT
Always wanted one - but ended up getting a Super Sabre...I hope they bring them back!
Super Sabre 😍😍😍
Nice car, nice video. My Super Hotshot is now finished. But i´ll wait until spring to put it out for a blast. No need to hurry. Thanks for letting me see it in action 👌
Fantastic my friend and yeah no fun running in the winter 🥶
Lovely stuff - the turning circle is something to behold! Jumps super nice!
Thanks for watching my friend 😊👊🏻
Nice ninja slippers Glenn..😂.. yet again my friend you have done a fantastic job of dressing appropriately for the time of year...,👍🇬🇧😎
Haha thank you 😂😂😂
Hi Glenn, The driveshaft that fell out should have been fitted to the front axle. The backs are slightly longer than the fronts and are plain whereas the one you showed on the video had a ridge around the middle which indicates it's a front axle shaft. Apologies if this has already been pointed out or if you've found out yourself.
Great video as always, looking forward to the next one.
John.
Thanks John yep I’m an idiot lol 😂
Finding that snow ramp was a nice bit of luck! The dog bone not so much.. in any case, thanks for treating me to the sound of the Hotshot gearbox. Put a smile on my face! Haven't run mine in ages.
Thanks Jon 😊👊🏻
I remember I had a hotshot back in the 80s it was right after my Super Champ I forgot the years.
You know what I would like to see is Tamiya bring back the original Wild Willy.
Yeah I know a lot of people are hoping to see that re release 🙏🏻
Awesome run Glenn, Agree, too damn cold to run. LOL
What a great looking car, it'll be good to see some "slow-mo" pics if poss on FB. Looked great fun. Many thanks to EuroRC and the content provider of course! As an English southern softy, if a Northerner finds it too cold for shorts & T-shirts! Blooming heck, it really must be cold!! Much respect to you Canadians! If I hadn't seen it, I would have never believed anyone had ever found a thrown drive shaft!
Thanks for watching my friend 😊
Bloody great as always Glenn👌,so nice to see it running, I do like a shelf queen but it's kind of besides the point of an RC car, those jumps before the driveshaft incident were epic, looked just like a Tamiya commercial. 11/10 for running this thing my friend ✌👊🇬🇧
Yeah I was having fun and then that happened 😡🤕🤕
Love the Hotshots family I have a super hot Shot that's never been out side shelf Queen 😎
That’s awesome Neil 😊👊🏻
Great running shots. The snow looked perfect for it.
My striker used to throw drive shafts all the time. 😞
Never found a good fix. Moved onto a boomerang instead, never threw a shaft.... and always got a podium finish.
Haha yeah the Striker isn’t the best running car Tamiya made 🤣👊🏻
Thanks for the Lovely run! 👍 Love the twin aerials sticking up at the sides.
Love the video mate. I thought you would be in shorts on this warmer day.
Haha thanks for watching my friend 😊👊🏻
Great looking little Hot Shot Glenn 👍🏻 ill be glad to start getting some warmer sunny days
Lover the Super hotshot, not sure why they didn't call the re-re the super shot, like the original though. I run a 16t brushless and it flies, convert it to 2WD by removing the front drive shafts and it's on the verge of being uncontrollable🤣, especially with the bump steer. bloody good fun though.
Cool RC and nice run my friend
Thanks buddy 😊👊🏻
Great winter run Glenn. Loved watching it hit those jumps from the car park onto the snow!
Thank you 😊
Loved the vid👍
Thank you 😊
Hi Glenn, those yellow rims would look amazing painted black. Great running video, well done again.
Thanks Richard 😊👊🏻
Wow this buggy looks so cool
Thanks for watching my friend 😊👊🏻
I put the metal drive shafts in there slightly longer and they don’t come out 😊 I had the same problem them
Keep coming out
Nice run, for that snow the stock tires would have worked like a charm... Looks like you may have forgot to put the little foam spacer in the dog bone drive cup they hold the bones from shifting to stop them from being able to pop out. I know another person that had that happen and after telling him about the foam spacers he looked at it and sure enough he said he must have forgot to put them in.
I’ve actually not checked it since the run but I’m thinking I might of had the dog bones reversed 🤯🤣
G'day Glenn so good to see it hear it running what a beast great video mate 👍
Thanks as always for watching my friend 😊😊😊
The silver driveshaft goes in the back, black ones in the front. I initially put mine backwards too, then I double checked the plans
Hot shot that driveshaft right out of there! Did not know that was even a thing with these, maybe another o-ring in there will fix it. Looked great jumping that snow bank though! Awesome looking car with or without a driveshaft!
Thanks buddy 😊
That beauty needs a beach 😍😍😍
Thanks for watching my friend 😊👊🏻
Look at it fly! Came out great. Nice work!
Nice run. 👍🏼 The jump in to the snow was cool.
Thanks buddy yeah it’s a shame I couldn’t do more of that 🤕
Looks ace even with the fluro wheels. Awesome vid Big Guy!
Haha I actually thought the same 😊👊🏻
Awesome to see you out running these kits. Shame about the drive shaft.
Thanks Adam 😊👊🏻
Nice run
Thanks for watching Roger 😊👊🏻
It looked at home running in the snow....love the Super Hotshot.
Yeah I was having fun until the drive shaft issue 🤕🤕🤕
Great looking buggy and runs good as well.
Yeah it’s definitely one of my favourites 😊
Didn’t expect to see the old girl jumping the first time out this was fantastic! The thought of you trying to work on the car to get the dog bone back in out there in below zero weather is hilarious - I’m down here in Texas whining when it’s 40F out 😂
You might need to consider migrating south for the winter brother!
Haha yeah I’m definitely a warm weather guy my friend 😎
Fantastic car, and even looks good with the modern wheels. The Super Hotshot is a classic. Fun to watch, and I'm sure it's fun to drive. I’m surprised that it has such a large turning radius though. My re-release standard Hotshot has much tighter steering. I wonder if it has to do with the servo (Futaba ball bearing), or using different steering uprights. Two sets were included with the kit, and I think I used the newer ones.
GREAT video , but the aerials ? what ?
And I was cold in 40 degree weather yesterday, here in Maryland. I don’t know how you can still feel your fingers.
Haha yeah it’s not much fun running them in these conditions Eric 😊👊🏻
Looks fantastic Glenn and sure is a special buggy! One that's really done its job for tamiya in the past up to present day. I always take a few tools with me when l go out to the beach for a blast haha can't have the fun being prematurely stopped by something simple 😉
Great vid mate you really do have it cold over their! Can't imagine it so cold, We in the UK have just endured some pretty strong winds and rain, February has not been good for any RC fun for sure!
Take it easy buddy 😉👍
Yeah we’ve been in a really severe cold spell, it’s been down at -22 a couple of times 🥶🥶🥶
@@TAMIYALegends Hell fire that's insanely cold🥶🥶🥶🥶
I was just looking to see if you can upgrade from the dog bones to some thing that can not fall out . Loved it on the snow.
Yeah I’m pretty sure the Top Force UJ’s fit 🤔
That's going great, even in the snow. Nice to see you had long pants on for this one! 😂👍
Big boy pants 🤣🤣🤣
Absolute legend of a buggy❤️
Totally agree my friend 🤩🤩🤩
Not short weather today haha, I don’t think I could of risked scratching it or getting it dirty thought ha looks so good!
Thanks buddy I agree it’s such a great looking buggy 🤩
Great video!😃👍 Ijust hope you weren't in your shorts again!!😉
Nope had the big boy pants on 🤣
Looking great Glenn.. shame about the shaft
Yeah that was a bummer but we’ll get it out again Pete 😊👊🏻
Hey Glenn. No indoor tracks around you? We need more around. They used to be everywhere.
Nope it sucks where I am 🤕
I’m hopefully going to one on the 3rd and that’s almost 2hrs away 🤯
@@TAMIYALegends I think there is one indoor/off road track about an hour from me in Durham Region, one indoor/on road north of Toronto. Every city used to have their own track back in the Golden years of RC.
Awesome 😎
Thank you 😊
Great to see it running, looks great doesn't it. Not lost a driveshaft yet on my son's Hotshot but plenty of other running repairs and vaguely remember it happening back in the racing days. Love to hear any advice for improving the steering lock.
Excellent thanks for leaving a comment 😎👊🏻
Hey Glenn
Great video! I think you have the wrong dogbone at the rear...black ones in front ( bit shorter) silver ones at the back ( bit longer).
Greetings from switzerland
Yeah someone else said that, I’ll need to check it now 😅
Shame about drive shaft.but still great to see it running.👍😃
Thanks Ian 😊👊🏻
Hi Glenn!
Also just built one of these after sourcing one here in Australia. Two things I noticed and wondered if it was normal.
1. The gear boxed is much noisier compared to my super hornet, I'm assuming this is just as its a 4wd and has more moving parts.
2. The stock wheels tend to have a little wobble. Not sure about this one.
Also whats your thoughts on wearing in new motors?
great video!
Glenn did you maybe put the shorter dogbones from the front in the rear by mistake?
That is quite possible Lee 🤣
What... No shorts today Glenn?? 😉
Haha nah I had my sensible head on lol 😂
What kind of hub adapters are you using for those wheels? The triangle thing or something else?
you might have to much up or down suspension travel if it let the dog bone drop out without the ballcup popping off
Yeah I’ll have to have a look at it again before I take it 🚗💨💨💨
What wheels/tyres do you suggest for running this car on tarmac or paved parking lot?
🥶
Oh yeah lol 🥶🥶🥶
What’s up bro stupid question where do I find the hop up part store at
Tbh I pretty much only use eBay or from the RC Jazz website 😅
Did you work out why the rear drive shaft came out? I would have thought you’d be more likely to loose a front shaft. Also what mods can you do to improve the steering ?
I’m pretty sure although I haven’t checked yet, I may have got them the wrong way round 🤯🤕🤕
Regarding the steering I’ll have to research that but I know 100% it can be done ✅
Does anybody know what chassis the Super Hotshot uses as I'm struggling to find any upgrades.
I’m not sure there are any actual Tamiya upgrades for it John 🤔🤷🏼♂️
What is different between HOTSHOT ReRe vs HOTSHOT2 ?
There extremely similar tbh, the HS2 has dual shocks on the back and of course the shell and livery changed. Running wise you’d hardly notice a difference 🤷🏼♂️
How did that happen when I'm going to be putting a 4600 in mine?
I haven’t checked yet but I might of reversed the dog bones 🤕
What is that long cord to that you're holding?
It’s for the microphone 😅
@@TAMIYALegends I've never seen you hold that. When you're outside.
Good morning Glen!!! That is porn for us Legends!!!! 🤣 looks amazing! Thanks
Thanks Chris 😊👊🏻
I`m in california how the hell are you outside in negative degree weather? =) =)
Haha I wasn’t out for long my friend 🤣👊🏻
Didn’t bring any tools Glenn! You amateur 😂
Lol 😂 I know I normally do but because of the weather I thought it would only be a tootle around a car park 🤣🤕🤕
