using the eos m6 mark ii pros : blasting fast shutter speed up to 14fps with tracking and UHS2 card great picture colours fast refresh rate LCD screen DPAF from canon is just fast 4k uncropped cons : mediocre battery life LPE17 no EVF which makes it hard to shoot in sunny day
Thanks Aaron! These kinds of videos are really helpful especially for trying to figure out which camera to get next. Like you say it is kind of overwhelming trying to choose from all the different brands and models within each brand. Kind of seems like the cons are more quality of life issues that could be fixed.
I'm one of those people who got into cameras thinking it would kick off my hobby but over the last 4 years by camera has just sat there gathering dust. 2023 is the year I want to get back into it so this was really helpful. Time to dust off my a6000!
Great video as always Aaron. I was stunned by the low light performance between my old Canon 100d and a sony a6500. I can only imagine how great it is on full frame.
I'm still with Canon crop so I hope to make the switch to full frame this year. Your channel always made me want to try Sony, I just need to save up. Very interesting to hear your thoughts on the pros and cons. Your videos and images speak for themselves!
Hi Aaron!! I still remember when you switch to Sony, it feels like yesterday but it is true it has been a couple of years now. We are still using Canon C70. Pros, cinema camera, we can use regular lenses with the adaptor so we didn't have to buy a whole set of lenses, the quality is incredible but the cons, autofocus is very weak, the files are very heavy in 4k and Lieles was thinking to switch to a Black Magic for their compression of the files... I won't let him switch though lol Thanks for sharing your pros and cons on Sony
Hey guys! Hope you're both well and keeping safe! Great to hear your thoughts on the c70! Your footage always looks fantastic but I never know the autofocus was a weakness on that!
Great tutorials, absolutely love them. I have Canon but now I really regret for not buying a Sony as I've notived that every UA-camr who respects themselves (so to speak) have Sony. When I was looking for cameras to buy i wasn't aware of that. The stabilisation on my Canon is horrible. I need to buy a gimbal as well this year before I start shooting again. Yes, I need as well a camera able to perform well during night time. Yes, they do cost a lot but I think they worth it! Man, I really want a Sony now! But first the gimbal!
I use Canon and the color science and SOOC image is a huge pro and so is the user interface but con, native glass and good bodies are pretty expensive too.
I love both Sony and Canon and I agree with your pros and cons but one issue I have with Sony is they don't provide firmware updates anywhere near as often as others.
Random Q,s do you have any plans to upgrade from the SIII? Do you still use the A7III much these days for video? I was hoping the prices would go down but a brand new a7iii is still like £1800 and I'm not keen on getting second hand gear.
We're actually in the process of getting an FX6 to be our main 'A' video cam but will still use the SIII as a 'B' cam. Will probably move our a7iii on after that. Unfortunately Sony's do seem to stay expensive, but if you're willing to be flexible on getting second hand gear you can find them for way cheaper! I wouldn't buy used from like ebay etc but you can be confident buying used from a store like Wex or Park cameras as they would fully inspect the camera, provide a warranty etc so have do have a look!
Great review Aaron, I had a hard time chosing between a sony or the Gh5 a few years ago. went with the gh5, and with that I miss the canon colour coding. Have some problem with on the fly focus, but other than that, been happy with the camera.
Thank you for the amazing video, I'm new to photography and still trying to figure out whether I should get the a7iii or a7riii for wildlife photography. For the lens I am settled on the sony 200-600mm if that helps. Which camera body would you recommend to pair with it?
If you're set on just stills the riii is still a fantastic choice vs the a7iii. If you're budget can stretch it, the newer a7iv is a nice upgrade and there is even an r5 now though that is quite pricey!
Haha definitely still very expensive to get into Sony but if you go for a few generations older like the A7III or SII for example, the prices are quite reasonable now!
I have had a bit of time on the r5 but none of the newer ones. They seem like amazing cameras honestly, I just don't have canon lenses anymore so it makes more sense for me to stick with Sony, especially as I plan to upgrade to an fx6 next year.
What are some pros and cons of your cameras? Let us know! 👇
Yeah low light on a crop sensor Canon DSLR is awful but I also love the size and portability as a non pro.

Thanks for your interesting insight into Sony. It's nice to hear someone talk about these cameras with actual plentiful sample videos and footage.
Thank you :)
Agreed especially about Sony having something for almost every budget and category.

Glad it was helpful! Yes definitely agree and a lot of the things like the screens and UI and already improved in their newer models :)

Good luck and go out there and get shooting!
ISO and low light performance is insane on Sony's. Appreciate your thoughts and respect your honesty on the cons as well!
Thank you for watching :)
Thanks for your honest opinions man. You guys deserve way more views and subs 🙏
I appreciate that!
I always learn so much from your channel my dear. Blessings to you and your family ❣❣
Same to you!

Good general review! Thanks for the "update". We've been so "out" of the camera market... 😅
You should take a look now at what's out there. The difference over the past few years has been huge across all camera brands!
Thanx for share & Love from Armenia
Thank you too!
Great presentation. Very interesting review. Best regards my friends and thank you for sharing. Have a nice weekend. 👍
Thank you! You too!

good review always Rudy!

Love the sony system 😊
Same here :D
Very useful my friend, Sony is a great and very famous brand, but i use lumix 😄
I use Canon and the color science and SOOC image is a huge pro and so is the user interface but con, native glass and good bodies are pretty expensive too.
I love both Sony and Canon and I agree with your pros and cons but one issue I have with Sony is they don't provide firmware updates anywhere near as often as others.
Yes I think I definitely could've added the lack of firmware updates as a con as well.
I always wonder why the cameras have so many settings and buttons, I miss the time of the simple cameras when they only had one button
I have juvenile idiopathic arthritis so ergonomical design is really important factor for literally everything I buy.

Thanks bro! Honestly the GH5 is still a great camera even today. Still know quite a few videographers still using them now.
@@RudyVisuals yeah, its been great, always learning something new on it, even today. I really like the stability it offers, for the run and gun vids.

nice, i also need advice where to find the money to buy Sony Mirrorless :) lol
kidding aside, this is great and very informative
Haha definitely still very expensive to get into Sony but if you go for a few generations older like the A7III or SII for example, the prices are quite reasonable now!
Have you tried any of the new canon models like r5, r6 etc? Curious to know what your thoughts on them are?
I have had a bit of time on the r5 but none of the newer ones. They seem like amazing cameras honestly, I just don't have canon lenses anymore so it makes more sense for me to stick with Sony, especially as I plan to upgrade to an fx6 next year.
@@RudyVisuals Thanks for the reply. That's good to know. Look forward to seeing your fx6 in action!
Thanks man, this was helpful. Quick question, if you weren't shooting on Sony, what would you be using?
Glad it was helpful! Hmm tough question, but probably Canon!
Would you recommend getting into sony mirrorless aps-c?
For me personally I like full frame but if you're on a budget there is nothing wrong with aps-c!
At the end of the day, it's the person behind the camera that matters. Brandy loyalty is dumb.
Absolutely!
Do you have experience shooting with Nikon or Fuji? Most of my friends only use these because it's quite cheap in Indonesia. Sony still expensive.
I have a photographer colleague who shots with Nikon mirrorless but I don't have a lot of hands on experience myself.
Great review, very useful information. Thanks & take care..
Glad it was helpful!
I really need to save and invest in better camera!
*꧁ In love 🌺 Благодарю 👌 Всё Супер 👍 ꧂*
Firmware updates for Sony is pretty slow/bad I hear
Yes, I definitely should have mentioned that as a con!
Thanks for the video, I am not overly familiar with Sony cameras so I learned a lot. Out of curiosity do you ever shoot with other camera brands?
Glad it was helpful! I have access to some Canon and Panasonic cameras at work but 95% of the time I shoot exclusively with Sony these days.
