Its really neat to have an US based, east coast professional working on saws and posting to youtube. For years ive followed Canadians and west coast guys. I feel a sense of pride being from NC. Thanks for posting and sharing your knowledge. I work for G&W equipment (forklift company) who have a shop in Greenville and Columbia. I'm only now finding out some of our employees were affected. Thanks again for what you do
I feel your pressure Richard.. ...especially when folk are relying on ya!... try and pace yourself though otherwise ya going to blow a gasket. ..trying times ..keep strong...
For anyone that doesnt know- after your equipment is flooded you can drain and replace contaminated fluids and flood the motor with a can of WD-40 to buy a little time. Not saying that will save it but it will buy you quite a bit of time before corrosion becomes an issue.
If Richard cant fix it, NO ONE Can !!! You're a good friend and neighbor Richard. Stay safe Richard, and hope everyone in your area can recover eventually. 👍🤝🇺🇸
Had neighbor that has horse farm.he had old stihl old super something 056 I think but it did not go threw a flood but he had stored in barn on the ground basically dirt some slight gravel..but I took it apart and it was full stuffed full of dirt, black sutt..was packed..but not like this video..😢wow...great work Richard sorry 🙏 to hear
After watching this, I’m going to put my saws in waterproof bags in addition to leaving them 8’ off the ground as I have been doing. Our neighborhood has never flooded (majorly) in all of its 70+ years, but not taking chances of not having my saws after an event.
I was saving tractors around La Grange during the aftermath of hurricane Harvey. After a few rough weeks of way too many hours a day i totaled my car on the way home. Hope the work doesnt wear on you too bad.
Seems every time I store a can of brakeclean to close to the saw shop I end up replacing a swollen needle in a carb. Finally stopped buying anything that didn't saw carb on it to avoid temptation
I was just crying inside watching you pull that cylinder off knowing the silt is in there 😢keep up the good work buddy

This week is at a more normal pace. Last week was nuts. Thanks!
Unbelievable how that silt packed in!
Good to see people are helping others that are in desperate need👍👌
I can't imagine the destruction let alone working on those saws. Good luck Richard, stay safe!
Your awesome Mr. Richard! Your work is impeccable!
He got him one of those self honing cylinders
Nice job man! Glad to see they were savable.

Hey man, one thing at a time... Keep on hammering brother! 👍
Just insane! Seeing how demolished these saws are makes my heart hurt for these people knowing that every single thing they own looks like this :(
Kia Kaha Richard. (Te Reo Maori for "be strong")
Greeting from New Zealand
Glad he was able to get them to you quickly and you were atleast able to open e'm up before the rust and corrosion seriously set in😬👍🏻
I would never have guessed that mud would pack into a saw like that

Nah, I'm good. Last week was rough. Much better this week. Thanks!
Does purple power hurt a chainsaw for cleaning outer areas???
What is the best way to get in contact with you. I live in Laurens and and have a MS 362 that needs some work
Dang what a mess.
I wonder how well an ultrasonic cleaner would help?
I think the silt multiplies. I swear you wash the crap out of everything and it sneaks back into the shop.
I'll put on a pot of coffee for you
An ultrasonic cleaner will make quick work of the silt on those parts.

Needs a new carb
And new bearings and seals
That’s just awful.
