This guy is actually the best guitar teacher on yourube and probably in the world, beginners is what is kept in mind but it is also friendly for experienced players. I've only been playing for 3 months and I am astounded with my progress I never thought I'd get as far as I have and I owe it all to you. Thank you so much!
I have 3 acoustic and one electric. I’m still beginner and I’m 41.. I love the looks of guitar. They are art to me and very cool instruments. I want to learn it. thank you for very good advice..
Im 61 today. I got a guitar 4 yrs ago for Christmas because I asked for one. It is (was) super seasoned by a very skilled guitarist playing it daily for years. The sound of it is amazing, like yours, & it practically plays its self and I took an online course for over a year. My husband threatens to sell it but it’s not his. I took informal guitar lessons when i was 8 & 9 yrs old. Im just not musically inclined and I still have hope to become a Mariachi😆.
“Things beginners should do and don’t”…….number 1 should be Watch LJB!! Class act mate! Your lessons always have the info needed but with a hint of LJ coolness!
Currently learning Californication by the peppers from your easy lesson. Playing for a couple of months. You are my songs teacher. Thanks for your work 👍.
I feel so called out by ‘start to finish’. Lee here with the huge personal attack right out the gate. I own more guitars than songs I know I think. Started when I turned 40 a few years ago, absolute the best decision i’ve made in a long, long time. Biggest thing for me was remembering to push, and to not think anything was particularly out of reach.
Thank you so much for all your instruction …one of my favorite songs is the last day of our acquaintance by the amazing Sinead…I can never get the strumming right and I was hoping you could do a lesson for this song , thanks for your consideration, as an ED doc I save lives…as a musician you save souls…rock on
I’ve learnt so much from LJ, best bit of advice from him was to keep going when I hit the inevitable low points. In the past I’d just given up.Cheers LJ.
I'm an almost 73 year old female with slightly arthritic figures who decided I wanted to learn to play the guitar! (I play piano, hammer dulcimer, and handbells). My husband and friends think I'm crazy! I was beginning to agree with them until I found your videos. I'm mainly working on the one-finger riffs and my fingers are already starting to get more flexible. Next I intend to follow your suggestions to learn the notes and scales. Thanks for being a great teacher!
Ahh thanks 🙏 Keep going it only gets easier! You’re not crazy ..they’re just worried you’ll get good and it might remind them how hopeless they are 😉🎸🔥🔥🔥
According to people around me, I'm an "advanced beginner", and you got me on a few of these. Haven't learned all the notes yet and yes, I tend to shy away from the pick. I can play with a pick, and I really see its utility, especially during alternate picking. I just like the tactile nature of using my fingers and feeling the strings when I play. Hearing the pick scrape across the strings can bug me too. Despite that, I agree with your assessment of using a pick. Pick thickness and material type also make a difference in the sound you get with the pick. First really cool rock song I learned all the way through is Link Wray's Rumble. It's a pretty easy song to play, but man does it sound way cool. 😎I can really see why people like Jimmy Page, Pete Townshend, and many other British guitarists were inspired by Link Wray. I really loved this video; you had me transfixed. Thank you as always for your wonderful videos! 👍👍👍👍👍
I start playing with pick. I prefer pick over my fingers. I've heard that you shouldn't start playing with pick from a man who was selling guitars. When I bought my acoustic guitar at his guitar shop, lastly I bought pick, also and he told me that it was to early for me to use pick. And also he told me that I should start with classical guitar and not the acoustic and I was told this at every guitar shop I've been. How do you think? Is that correct to start with classical guitar if you want to play rock/metal? I don't think so. Yeah, strings on classical guitar are soft, but classical guitar isn't meant for rock.
I have started guitar for 2 months and I learned all the songs I can play from your videos. I just want to thank you and ask a question. Whenever I play guitar I hear a noise that come with the song I'm pretty sure that I'm playing the right note but there is always a little noise in the background. Do you have any idea where does that noise coming from? Wish you the best. I hope one day I can see you and thank you face to face for your great lessons.
I learned many song from your lessons. Pride and joy by Stevie Ray was best for me! Big inspiration thank you! I like your's style and little simplifications for acoustic guitar. Many thanks for you classes!
couldn't agree more dude, been playing for just over a year now and up until a couple months ago all i was doing was playing parts of songs, riffs and licks. then i realised when playing in front of people that's all i could do, so i went back to all the songs i like and learnt them from start to finish. very satisfying now that i can do it for some songs now :)
I love your stuff. But I am so bad at the "start to finish" part. I get bored and skip. Or, when something's too hard, I'll practice more, learn more stuff, and come back later. I sure hope the other 4 im not doing wrong as well...lol.
I’m 51 and started playing a few months ago and I love it… got a lot of riffs down and this is the kind of videos I need to see & hear… Thanks
51 is nothing! Great work now keep going 👍🎸 message me if you need lessons 😉
when you start to play guitar not because you want to get girls - you know it is serious XD

Thanks but you've done the work! Well done! Now keep going with it ok 😁👍🎸🔥
What a truly outrageous claim to make for a guy that's been playing for a mere 6 months. Spare us the hyperbole child.
I have 3 acoustic and one electric. I’m still beginner and I’m 41.. I love the looks of guitar. They are art to me and very cool instruments. I want to learn it. thank you for very good advice..
You're very welcome! Keep going with it 👍

been playing 50 yrs and still needed to hear this. of course i've taken many years off here and there for the most absurd reasons. mostly emotional.
😁👍🎸
Hi again , the video you mentioned where you teach how to learn notes, what are you calling that video ? Sorry but I can’t find it
Encantada de seguirte y aprender más y más.
Nice words at the start Lee.

For me, learning finger style from the beginning was critical. Forced me to play chords clean and accurate.
Absolutely! 👍

If you get bored it's the song ! I wanna hear a song !! You've got 4 weeks to send me one or you're blocked!! 😆👍🎸
Ooh, incentive! 4 weeks does sound doable though. Thanks man!

How can I really learn guitar, very fast and easy?
Learn the basics master them by playing every single day, love every minute 🎸

How in the world are you able to spy on all of us making these mistakes ?
I’ve been teaching for nearly 20 years, I’ve based on most of it on the students that have been sat in front of me👍
As ever a brilliant lesson
Thanks
