I certainly will. To ease into it I've been enjoying your 10 easy songs without chords videos so atleast I can play a few things. Thank you very much for the time you put into these videos, alot of appreciate them. Happy Thanksgiving!
The biggest lesson that I personally learned while trying to learn guitar was that rhytm and timing are key to sounding good. Even with perfectly sounding chords, having bad timing will make any song sound terrible. Having perfect timing can make even badly fingered chords sound relatively ok (a muted string scrape in perfect timing can even be a great sounding effect in a song).
bro, you are so under appreciated on youtube. im hoping you hit 1 million this year in 2021, alot more people will be playing guitar. and i am one of them. i also love how you just keep it simply with an acoustic it makes everything seem obtainable and just within my grasp.
@@leejohnblackmoremusic man you comment back so fast, thats another thing i love about you john.! hope you are having a good new you and are safe and healthy.
wow you hit the nail when you mentioned jumping around from lesson to lesson LOL I been trying learn way too many things at once. For example trying to learn "Nirvana songs one day and the growlers another" way different genres.
Excellent, thanks, Lee. I really do have a problem listening to myself play. Since I still don't play some chords effortlessly, I tend to focus my attention on how to play the chords and that pulls my attention away from what it sounds like. When I get a chord down, then I start to hear myself. Your ideas are good ones, and I'll try them out. Probably your best advice is what a person wants to play to set a goal. Goals are important to steer you and focus your attention, and I did learn how to play the G, C, & D open chords pretty well by focusing on songs that use those chords and practice, practice, practice.
I’ve been playing for a few yrs and developing my ear is the most useful tool you can have....being able to listen to any song and immediately know what key it’s in, the strumming pattern, chords, etc is most important imo
I am 45 and female, and I have wanted to learn guitar my whole life. I have been following lessons from another UA-camr, but I have been trying to learn for months, and I just don't seem to be getting it. I decided to try a different UA-camr, and I found you. This video was super informative and helpful. I hope I can start making progress. I can play chords, and I know quite a few, but I am having a horrible time trying to transition between them.
Thanks for your message. It’s absolutely normal to struggle with the transitions between chords. This stuff takes time and most UA-camrs will rush through (stuff as well as myself sometimes) The truth is, if you’re serious about playing guitar go get yourself some lessons! It’s always gonna make more sense to have someone built structure for you than go sifting through random UA-cam videos. By the way, this isn’t an ad for my lessons, but I do also offer one-to-one online tutoring. Just drop me a line via my website or Instagram😁👍🎸
This lesson just makes a lot of sense to me. I have become careless trying to learn to play guitar. I’m an older player and I know what the future holds for me so with your words of advice I plan to slow down a bit and pay more attention to the details. Thanks for posting!
Hello! I've been playing guitar for almost 4 months. For almost 4 months I have been repeating every day for at least 3 hours, leaving aside the first month in which I give 5 or 6 hours a day to playing the guitar. I learned a lot of riffs and intros from you and thank you for that. At first I learned to sing mountain songs, meaning folk if I'm not mistaken. I went through that period, even though I enjoyed it. I can say that I learned some fingerstyle but also picking, many scales and many licks. I don't know how to improvise, so every day I repeat some licks invented by me based on pentatonic scales. I learned to read a tab and I still have no idea how to read a musical score. Ok, I can say that I ventured too far into all this practice, throughout this "quarantine" and I never repeated with a metronome. I don't have a metronome, but I found some apps on Google Play. The second problem is that I always sing by ear and try as much as possible to play over the original songs, I hope you understand, and now I don't realize how I could take it from the beginning with folk , because I don't know what bpm to use. And I'm not just talking about folk, I'm talking about licks and so on. I hope to receive an answer. Thank you so much for being here and for inspiring me. Have a nice day!
I’ve always wanted to play the guitar. I’ve tried learning multiple times but never really stuck with it and moved on to other interests. I picked it up again because I wanted to learn a specific riff for an inside joke for my friend. It sparked my interest for it all over again. This video definitely cleared up what I was doing wrong all along and I’m happy I’m finally beginning to learn. Thanks for this!

I am 53 jears old. i learn my self to üay gittar about 40 years ago. i can play 6 or 6 songs, but i was on a point, i learn nothing new. but tonight i watch your movie and i take my gittar, because you are a good teacher for beginners. One of my friends plays guitar for a week and then he tells me "I'm learning Eruption by Van Halen" I told him he is not ready but he wouldn't listen. Guess to what conclusion did he reached after two weeks of practicing 😂😂🎸🎸🤘🤘
Playing guitar should be like a pilots flying time and measured in hours because I know a guy who said he's been playing for7 years but in fact it only amounted to about 10 hours

I am a beginner in guitar and, your lessons help me so much! Thank you! Also can you maybe include how to switch chords fast enough. Can you maybe do a song called Photograph by Ed Sheeran? I really appreciate your time to give lessons like these.
You were talking about having realistic plans... I am a beginner and can play like 5 chords at the moment but I really want to learn nothing else matters... My question is, is this a realistic project at the moment or should I wait until I made more progress? Greetings from Germany and sorry for my English 👍🏼
Why with the E string do you start with an F after the open E string on the first fret but with the A string you start with an A sharp after the open A on the first fret
You make me laugh great impressions everything you said was right. I'm 44 I've been playing the guitar for about four and a half months and I'm rubbish I need a routine I'm all over the place.. Or am I just to old
