Have to say how much I love how you teach! So easy to understand because of the effort you make to keep things simple, which is not easy to do. Congrats from a new convert. Best David Clarke Lewes,England
Thanks LJ, I play a lot of Irish trad stuff usually power chords to fill when playing with others - reels are very quick! However I’m just learning Steve Earles - Galway Girl for my solo set. And this video is so helpful. And I’ve played along time, albeit on/off since a very young age! And this just shows your never to old to learn more!! This is good advice for both the beginner or seasoned player, almost like a reset if that makes sense! So thank you, I’m a huge fan of your channel. YOU ROCK SIR🤘🏻🎸
Appreciate the tips and the takeaways from your tutorial were plenty especially for a beginner like me. Liked your advice to avoid the discord in strumming while attempting chord progression correctly. Shall keep that in mind. The 1-2-3. 3-2-1 approach looks interesting to try out. And you are right.. Practising the chords in the darkness as well does help. Thanks so much!
Thank you for the lesson. I never realised that I have been doing all your steps and tricks before I saw the video. Now, I know that I am heading to the right direction.
Thanks for the great tips! this is something I really need to practice. I find difficult to get from A to F fast. Properly adjusted guitar matters a lot as well. Having proper distance between the string and the fret board is important, you need just half or even less pushing force from your fingers if the guitar is properly adjusted by professional. Hopefully one day I will pick up my Taylor from guitar shop = ) the sound of your guitar is just amazing, my yamaha is ok, but no chances so far to make it sound good through the whole fret board = )
The easiest way to remember chords and make it into a muscle memory is just by doing the chord shape on your guitar and hang your guitar on your hand while doing the chord shape do it for atleast 30 second you will remember your chords
A helpful video. Bit confused with the correct chord hand position. Should the fretting hand be at an angle, as yours is for most of the chords, or should the fretting hand come in straight on to the fret board, as other videos recommend. Perhaps its a matter of personnel choice ?
Your videos are very helpful. I like the no-nonsense approach. I have been struggling with changing chords quickly. Could you please consider doing an acoustic guitar lesson for 'Don't Forget Me' by RHCP? I understand that you get a lot of requests but if you could add it to the list, it would be much appreciated. Thank you very much for all the content.
Thanks a lot for the tips! I'm getting more and more comfortable every day but most changes to G give me a hard time. It's often a case of either the 2 little fingers (e and B) or index and major (E and A), all 4 at once not if coming from any A for instance. I'll get there I'm sure :)
..a very important video thanks LJB. Now I can sign language with guitar chords! Lol. Do you know what it means if I'm not getting any sound when I'm sliding from a note to a new one? Could it be the distance of the strings from the fretboard or do I need lighter strings?? Was also wondering... do we need to be on Instagram ourselves in order to send you a request??!
Only you can work this out my friend I don't know without seeing your guitar. The most likely reason is that that you maybe need more practice. Even if the strings were too far apart etc I'm sure I you would still be able to make the chords sound.👍
Great vid as always Lee. Random request but any chance you could feature ‘warriors of Ghengis Khan’ by comedy heavy metal band ‘Bad News’? I believe the main riff can be played on the low E string. Possibly good for a beginner to learn?
@@leejohnblackmoremusic Thanks a lot for your reply.I am a big music fan. When I started learning guitar I became surprised to think about the fact that memorising becomes a part of learning music.I became surprised.I never thought like these.

It's a matter of anatomy and it doesn't matter what hand angle you're using as long as you're not touching the other strings and it sounds good. 👍
Perfect!!
Hey lee! It would mean alot if u cpuld teach us some john mayer! I know other people want this too. Pls do it

Ur greatest fan

Haha😆👍 I remember that one😂 Vim Fuego🎸
Vim could play ‘Stairway to heaven ‘ when he was 12, Jimmy Page didn’t write it until he was 22.
I think that says quite a lot.
😂😂
Changing from a single note on a high fret to a barre chord on a lower fret for finger picking ..😁
Please do a tutorial on Right in Two by TOOL or Wrong Side of Heaven by FFDP, thanks
Hi i am really improving because of you, but my guitar starts to make a clappy noise around the 8th plus frets, wondering if something is wrong
Check out this part 25:17 of LJB’s Video... might solve the issue your having?? 👍🏼😊
@@GeriWardMusic Thank you very much man
Next time please a strumming tutorial (how to strum with and without a pick, fast strumming and common mistakes) pleeeassseee
It's coming but maybe not next week😎👍
Who marks down people who are doing free stuff? I know, other fee charging teachers. Well done and thanks bro.
I was just thinking the exact same! Why don’t they just move on? Astounds me... some people eh!!!
Can you make how to sing pls??
You are very inclusive , as your tutorial videos can be called LJBT videos.

Would you please tell me how to memorise guitar chords?

Have you ever met Ynwie malmsteen?
When I stated playing it was that dang 4 finger G chord that gave me the most trouble.
