MY WASH DAY ROUTINE | RELAXED HAIR
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- This highly requested video will show my entire step by step wash day process.
I've been following this wash day process for the past 7-8 years without fail. I complete this process typically on Sundays (once a week, every week). I always apply my protein treatments on dry hair (for better absorption) with heat, shampoo it out, follow up with a moisturizing deep conditioner (mixed with oils) and then my leave-in conditioner. I do the scarf method - while air drying - until completely dry. Then I moisturize and seal.
This routine has been working for me and my relaxed hair. I swear by all of the products that I use. On a few occasions I will substitute my conditioners and swap them out with other protein and moisturizing deep conditioners just to experiment :)

So glad you're back!!! I am one of the few naturals who thinks relaxed hair is beautiful too! It's a preference. This is where I send all of my relaxed friends who want to grow their hair long. Please give us more!!!
I’m a huge fan of natural hair too! Wow!! I’m grateful that you refer your friends here. So thoughtful!!
Let me know what kind of videos you’d want to see?!
I have watched all of your videos over the years and I like them all. You are very detailed. Maybe some style videos like updos & buns. Also, maybe a video on how and how often to trim. Thank you!!! 😍😍😍
Thank you!! So nice of you to say. I appreciate the suggestions!!
Thissss!!!! ❤❤❤
You are like the last relaxed person I am subscribed to on UA-cam. Everyone else went natural 😩
And most of us switching back 😭😭💀💀

Hairlicious Inc. I've been natural 3 years and just went back to a relaxer a few weeks ago and I was like now what until I found your channel so THANK YOU! I'd love to see a video on your midweek cowash routine
Seeing that somebody else uses the plastic bag and twists it up in the front just like me was the most validating thing ever!!! 😂😂😂😍
LOL hey! It worksssss 🤣😍
It's so amazing how the hair at the tips first began at the roots
Isn’t it?! It’s fascinating when you think about it

I don't usually comment but I've been overcome by a wave of nostalgia! You are the reason why I have long relaxed hair to this day! I followed your routines to the T about 6 or 7 years ago and I was so amazed at how long my hair grew! I noticed a significant difference in 3 months. I was just beginning a transitioning journey to natural hair but now that you're back I am so tempted to go back to relaxing (and I just might). Never had a problem with my relaxed hair...I guess I just wanted a challenge lol. Don't ever leave again!
Oh my gosh! This comment is so touching!! I’m honoured and happy to hear that your hair grew so much as a result of my tips. Thank you for sharing that. It means a lot❤️
me tooo. I started watching her when I think I was relaxed .
Wow this has to be the most love in a comment section I’ve ever seen on a UA-cam channel
It’s truly overwhelming 💕💕💕 #grateful
@@HairliciousInc did you add your oils to the conditioner? Do you recommend it?
I'm a 4c natural and I follow your wash day routine. My hair is more moisturized during the week and it's growing very well. I mix the oils and do the deep condition on dry hair the same way, wash then do a moisture deep condition . This works ladies. 🤗
Oh my gosh!! I can't express how grateful I am for your channel. I have been trying to combat dry hair for so long and I have watched videos before but never really followedyour advice, kept using the same products and never seeing good results. This week, I was at my wits end being 14 weeks post, my new growth was very thick and dry and I thought I knew I couldn't relax my hair in this state. I watched your video on moisture and protein and then ended up watching so many more and I took some notes, went to the shops and bought new products for about £100. I did your wash day to the tee, 2 step and keracare treatments, and used the S curl activator spray. I feel like crying because I have wasted so much time on my hair and I've been doing all the wrong things!!! I also felt like crying tears of joy, my hair has never so soft and hydrated my whole life especially when it was so dry and breaking off this last month. I had a baby and hair maintenance has been inconsistent because I didn't have a plan. I know I'm going to see results now just from consistently following your regimen. Honestly, I am just so grateful for UA-camrs like you because you really make a difference. I felt it in my soul when you said invest in your hair, not wigs. I was about to give up on my hair and blame it on genetics and just buy more wigs. But you helped me!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH, YOU'RE THE G.O.A.T!! I will be supporting your channel consistently from now, I'll be watching every ad sis! Much love❤❤❤❤❤❤ from the UK🇬🇧
I really love how her hair still looks thick with texture even though it's relaxed like it's not bone straight! I'm definitely gonna try her relaxing method!
Yessssss she's back plz don't stay away too long 🤗 I'm ready to relax again after almost 10yrs
Awww I know I know. I missed you all. Welcome back!! #teamrelaxed
Same here. Back to relaxer after 10 years😊
This technique worked wonders on my relaxed hair. Came to say thank you.
I gotta say huge thank you!!I'm following your hair regimen and I absolutely love the results after years of breakage and damage to my hair due to lack of caring for it,so this pandemic gave me a reason to do so..the products are amazing and I love their smell, thanks for this 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I realized how important it is to do each step when washing relaxed hair. I realized also that my hair needs to be washed every week cuz my hair gets very dry. Your videos motivate me to continue my relaxed hair journey. My hair has been breaking and thinning on the left side of my head and the crown. Another hair chronicle journey starts for me lol.
you are my hair inspiration. I've been watching you since 2009 and I'm glad you still continue to educate on how to take of our hair (whether relaxed or natural). thank you!!
I watched one of your videos last night, and I am a new subscriber for sure. I've been a hairstylist for 16 years, but they don't teach anything outside of how to apply a relaxer. I had no idea that I should, even with my own hair, moisturize and seal. I also have low porosity hair, so this information has been a game changer for me. Thanks for the informative videos!
Yes, it’s definitely a game changer. Glad to hear it’s been helping you!!
@@HairliciousInc Yes! My kids, too. Their curls are so bouncy and beautiful lol
so happy you are still relaxed
I’m happy to be relaxed!! :) #teamrelaxed
@Roxie Moxie 💯💯💯💯
You're the reason I started my hair journey...thanks for coming back!
Awww I’m happy to hear that. Thanks for the welcome!!
Same here. I love ur channel so much and I have watch every video of yours more than thrice.
I no longer relax my hair but I want to thank you because I remember your channel really helped me learn how to achieve healthy hair :D
That’s amazing!! I’m happy I was able to help you. Thanks for watching!!
Thank you so much for this video. Moved to LA, last year, the water and weather has made my hair so dry. My scalp is flaking, which it never has before. After getting about two - three inches cut off, I've been researching how to handle my hair in this climate.
Did your regime today, and I believe you gave me a solution!!!! Thank you.
Ché Lyons look into getting a chelating shampoo(ors creamy aloe shampoo). I hear LA has hard water
I have been watching you since I was 18(2009) and I have reached bsl. I am so happy to have found you and hairlista/UA-cam because I had constant breakage and didn’t know how to care for my hair. I had no idea about retention and why my hair was breaking. I am so grateful because I have learned about hair care and can pass it down to my cousins and nieces
Being 6 months pregnant, I’ve been seeing results with my hair for a while but I’m so glad I found your channel cause I’m going to incorporate these steps so I can grow my hair
Awww pregnancy gives the best hair growth. Keep up the great work!
Hairlicious Inc. thank you!
I enjoyed your video, writing the products down so I can look for them when I go to the beauty supply store. You have beautiful hair, keep doing what you’re doing. Blessings to you.
Beautiful. Glad to see you’re back. This makes me miss my relaxed hair. Sooo much easier on wash day!
Awww Thanks so much!!
I've learned so much about caring for my hair from this one video! Thank you for sharing your process. I'm getting all of these products. 🥰
Hi hairlista my hair is now natural but when I started my hair journey I started watching you . I won't stop watching mama still love watching Happy to see an update from you.
Awww that’s so sweet of you!! Your support is amazing!! Congrats on going natural.
The humecto in the tub is a completely different conditioner from the bottle. The humecto in the tub leave my hair fealing silky while the bottle humecto makes my hair feels like straw. I couldn't justify buying the tub so I got hydrafuse instead which is a really good moisturising conditioner. Glad that you are back.😁
I've heard that exact thing before. I tried the one in the bottle and it did absolutely nothing. But I really didn't want to purchase the tub and hate it as well
Hi I used a rice water rinse for my protein today but I followed your shampoo, deep conditioning, and leave in treatments. The shampoo smells Devine! My hair feels really good. My new growth is soft working on getting my ends to feels the same way. I just started working on stopping the shedding, staying moisturized and working on getting my multi length hair healthy and finally to one length. #hairgoals
I know this is 4 years old; yet, I'm using this regimen as I type. I brought all the products I need, which I chuckled to myself bc the KeraCare line is what I grew up using on my hair. Your reason for your hair journey was the inspiration and example I needed. I canceled my hair appt today and said I can wash, condition, and style my own hair; however, I will still get my relaxer done professionally. I didn't like the products being used or how my hair was over manipulated. Everything else I can do because I NOW know it's possible! THANK YOU for sharing your journey with us!
Same here I do get my relaxer done at the salon and I might try bringing my product with me and telling them what to use on my hair
This is the healthiest nicest relaxed hair I’ve seen. Wow
Wow. Thanks so much!!
Thank GOD you’re back!!!!!!!!!!! Don’t leave us again! There’s not too many relaxed women on UA-cam
Awww I know. It’s been too long.
when you are natural but watches relax hair videos .hmm the creamy crack is calling me ,calling me ,sings
Lmao awww it’s hard. I know.
Yeah! I am so glad that you're back. I would like to have an update on how you relax your hair.
Thanks hun!! I haven’t changed my relaxing routine. All the details are on my blog :)
Yaaasss Canadian Queen with the President's Choice coconut oil! Love it
Your relaxed hair looks so thick, it’s great!
I love how you do your 2 Minute Aphogee Reconstructor process.
OMG I’m shook😆!! Chicoro you are a hair legend!! Thank you so much for the compliment 😍❤️
Your are sweet. Your results are great and your hair is magnificent!
your hair looks so good!
It is FABULOUS to see you back!! Thanks for sharing your relaxed hair update.
Awww thank you for watching!!
Thank God there's someone left!
I went natural June 2018....bald fade. The journey was heartbreaking and just hard so I permed June 2019. Its growing better but still not fast enough.
New subscriber
Shes the BEST relaxer hair hair guru on UA-cam. I've been following her routine to a TEE since June of this year, and my hair has already grown over 2 inches, HEALTHY inches.
I used to watch your videos 6 years ago when I was relaxed...then I went natural, my hair too thick and too much work so last year I cut it all off lol and it’s grown back so fast so I’m thinking of relaxing again and I’m so glad you still make videos!!
Yes glad to have you back. Thanks
Hey girl!! Thanks so much.
My natural and low porosity and I have tried a lot of the natural hair videos and over priced products I have found that my hair responds instantly to old school products and 25% natural products depending on what part of the processes I'm on.. I have also found that a little bit of products responds better so basically my natural hair responds better to relaxed hair regimen than the natural hair regimen....right now I'm using your regimen in this video wish me luck 😁
Yes. Very nice. I only use combs and brushes on shampoo day. I keep my hair in one tucked braid ALL the time
Loving ur healthy hair and the length 😍
Hey girlie!! Thanks a ton!!
That's sis y'all 😍 sw33tsparkl3
#BEAUTIFUL 💯💯💯👍👍👍👍🦋🦋🦋🦋
I have not seen u in a while. Glad your back. Love your hair.
Yes it’s been a while :) Thanks for watching!!
I am so glad that you're back that I am trying to get an answer to my questions, just in case you decide to take a break again. Can you please do a tutorial on how you trimmed your hair?
I get my hair trimmed at the salon. I do light dustings at home though.
I tried your wash routine and I'm in love. I had aphogee 2 minute reconstructer. But I didn't have the other products but I did the same process. I will try the products you used eventually.
I have started this routine this month and am going to follow it religiously.
Hope I'll bring back my testimony🙏
Thanks for sharing. This DC regimen works. My hair broke off due to illness and laziness. I'm back to midback length now. TY
Whoa, welcome back!! I thought I was seeing things, LOL. So glad to see you💖. Great video👍
Awww thanks for the love and for watching!!
I don't understand why for those who dislike this video and any other video's you put out. One word, Jealous. For some who may thumbs down because her method is too much no need for thumbs down, keep in mind it's what works for her obviously the proof is in the pudding.
I used to watch your videos back in the day when i was relaxed! the nostalgia
Awwww thanks for coming back!!
OMG you were the very first youtuber i followed I kept wondering what happened. Im ecstatic you're back
Aww thanks for your support and luv over the years!!
I really do appreciate you and all of your hair care videos, I have been educated very well , thanks 😊
I'm not relaxed but my best friend is. I'm so happy these 📹 exist because she needs help with her hair and now I can help her!
Great to see u back, i love natural hair but it is good to see some relax sistas as well.
I’m so happy I found your channel. Your routine is making my new growth soft and making my strong
Omg before I even watch the video I have to say that I watched your videos and followed you on KISS I think it was YEARS ago when I first started my hair care journey and I had NO idea you still uploaded videos and were still relaxed. EVERY relaxed youtuber goes natural due to peer pressure I feel and I’m so glad you’re not weak minded and do what YOU want to do!!!
Hey hun. Thanks for the support. Yes I’m still relaxed and loving it. Not transitioning any time soon!
🎉🎉🎉 love coming back here every wash day
you must have high porosity hair. there's no way I could use protein on my hair every week like that. even the oils you use is better for high porosity hair, with the exception of the jojoba oil, which is light weight and penetrates well. that's really great you found a combination that gives you beautiful hair. I have low porosity hair. so the only time I use a protein conditioner is a week before I relax my hair, and right after I apply my relaxer. that's it. too much protein for low porosity hair is a nightmare. great job. your hair is beautiful.
Loved that routine so im subbing as im about to go on relaxed hair journey.. needed a good routine to follow.. 👌🏾👌🏾
That stash in the background 🤤
😂🤣
I loveee that you use affordable products. I’ve unfollowed so many UA-camrs bc they only use products that are $40 n up. I’m not rich at all
Clicked like before watching the video lol. Glad you’re back!
Omg your support is awesome 👏🏾
Hey Sunshine! so glad to see you my friend. Your hair is so beautiful and healthy. :)
Hi hun!! Thanks for the love and for watching :)
Where u been !!!!!! I enjoyed your video . I am glad your back .
Thank you for watching. I’ve been just busy with life. Missed you guys!!
I tend to go back and watch old videos till I get to the new ones. Question?? In your newest videos you mention you do two washes per week. I noticed it said you did a protein treatment following a relaxer and then the next time later in the week you do a follow up w/a shampoo and moisturizing deep conditioner. So my question is this : do you just do a protein treatment after your perm now ONLY (once) or is this still once a week followed by a second wash w/deep conditioner? I’ve been following you ever since the hair boards. Thanks.
Thank you for this video I have been thinking to relax my hair doing my research on what products to use thank you so much sis
I've tried to get as many of the products as possible (but eventually the purse strings tightened) and pretty sure I've been watching these videos on a loop but after basically watching my hair fall away due to lack of care I decided this lockdown is the best time to kickstart my regrowth journey. Your videos have been really helpful and I am hoping that I'll be as disciplined as you with my routine!
P.s I think you used it in a different video but the As I Am moisturiser really does make a difference!
I will give this a try on my next wash day routine
Currently following your tips and advice. I have a short pixie. Just relaxed after years of being natural. Needed to switch it up. Thank you for sharing the knowledge ❤️❤️
Who knew there were so many relaxed vloggers!
Yes we are still here!! Lol
Hi Sunshyne. Do you detangle your hair before washing it or only after?
Yes I detangled before and after.
I missed your videos. Always watched you growing up and happy to see you’re still relaxed
Awww thanks hun!! I appreciate your support. Yes I’m still relaxed :)
Love your hair so much . Please do a video on detangling. I get most of my damage from detangling.
I used to air dry my hair when I was relaxed but I was always the only one. People thought I was crazy.
So appreciative. I’m glad to have watched your video
OMG..so glad to see you back. You have been missed😊
Thanks so much!! I missed you all too
I relaxed my hair after watching your videos, thank you! My hair is soft and healthy bc I watched closely, got better understanding of my hair, and read the directions! Getting ready for wash day, I'm wondering, I have low porosity and doesn't seem to do well with protein treatments, do you think I should do an oil mix treatment before I was and deep condition? Thinking of using coconut and olive oil, my hair loves olive oil, and then my low porosity shampoo and deep conditioner.
Your hair is beautiful. Great video 👍🏽
Thank you so much for watching and for the compliment.
Beautiful hair, and you too! Excellent method, this looks like it makes complete sense. Thanks for sharing - Subbed!
Thanks so much hun for watching and for subscribing!!
Hey in this video I noticed you said you only detangle on wash days to minimize hair shedding. Could you elaborate on this because I'm prone to major shedding
Thanks so much! You're great!
Your hair looks great. Thanks for all the tips.
Thank you!! My pleasure.
My hair never looked like this when I did relaxer
Great to see you again! I strayed from some of these techniques and it's showing in my hair. 😪
Thanks hun!! It happens!! Just get back on track and your hair will thank you for it.
My hair is better relaxed and still remains thick and healthy I hate when I don’t get a perm for a long time my hair is unmanageable
Is there a video of you showing us your relaxer routine? I would really appreciate it
Am super happy to see a video from you SunShine😍😍
Thanks hun!! I appreciate the love so much.
Good to see u back miss ur videos.
Hello dear, your hair is so flexible.got relaxed hair and my fingers can't glide thru my hair like that.got very fine strands of hair so don't know if its prone to tangling.your hair...do good
Thanks for sharing. I will be trying this method for my protein treatments.
Great. Hope it works for you!!
Okay, I did this method to my hair. My hair was stronger after the protein conditioning before shampooing. So yes I will continue to do this, along with protective styling.
That’s great!! Ensure you follow up with a moisture deep condition.
Your hair looks so healthy and good sis😩love it! You got a new subscriber for sure
By far my fav hair video. What u do suggest for relaxer damaged breaking n shedding?
You're hair is beautiful! i love this song that's playing who sings it!
Did ever find out who sings this?
Starting my hair journey today 🤞🏾
Congratulations hun!! 💕💕💕
Yes!!!!!!! Finally your back
Yesssss lol
After you air dry your hair, do you roller set it, or put heat to it so it doesn't frizz? I want to wash my hair at home too but I don't know if it will turn out right.
Your hair is so beautiful....thnks for sharing especially the moisture treatment you made...is the hello hydration conditioner from herbal essences ok to use with oils for a moisture treatment as well?i normally use ors replenishining or nourishing conditioner but i wanted something tht was protein free.
Cornelia Lewis I don’t use HE HH as a DC because it’s not formulated to be a deep conditioner. You can try Aussie 3 min miracle as a DC and add oils to that. It’s protein free and very moisturizing.
@@HairliciousInc ok thnks you so much..i will search online for it i hv never seen the ausie 3 min miracle here in trinidad.
Thanks for sharing your wash day routine, I gain some great tips. Thanks for all of your years of service to the hair community. Your platfirm has been a blessing, especially in the rural community I live in.😊
It’s my pleasure!! Thank you!!
I never thought I could air dry my relaxed hair! What kind of scarf do you use? Did you buy it at a hair supply store?
