It isn't that Sabine can barely see during the training, she can't see at all. Zatoichi, refers to the old samurai films of the blind swordsman. Classic Japanese films.
What the frick are you on about? Wishing the episodes are longer has nothing to do with being handheld through the details of a story! Your comment makes no sense. OP was wishing the episodes were longer because the story IS good/compelling/exciting. Honestly this episode did feel short. I want MOAR... Waiting a week for for a new episode is going to be torture. But also gives me time to process and come up with theories. @@DontrelleRoosevelt
Mary, Tarre Vizsla was the first mandolarian Jedi around 1000 BBY. He was the one who built the dark saber that Bo-Katan was seeking. It seems that they were others after.
"Zatoichi (Japanese: 座頭市, Hepburn: Zatōichi) is a fictional character created by Japanese novelist Kan Shimozawa. He is an itinerant blind masseur and swordsman of Japan's late Edo period" So the term for the blind training is taken from a blind fictional swordsman. No it doesn't mean they are speaking Japanese. It is just a way to throw an Easter Egg in from some of the films of the past. And given the Jedi is sort of inspired from Samurai and Samurai films. I haven't looked up the other terms they used in training. I'm sure they probably have an inspiration from somewhere as well.
That table gives new meaning to the floor is so clean you could eat off of it. Got A New Hope vibes from this episode with the training and when Sabine said she got one. Was waiting for either Ashoka or Huyang to say don't get cocky. Lol
I like how during her training, Sabine’s bullish and stubborn personality is reminiscent of Ahsoka and Anakin’s when they were Padawans. Anakin was a headstrong apprentice to Obi-Wan, but later matured and became a selfless person until you know he turned to the dark side. Ahsoka on her first day of being Anakin’s student was impulsive as well. Anakin didn’t take her very well, but later accepts her as his Padawan because she has a lot in common with him.
Force Users are one thing (and have MANY names). They actively know they are seeking to Control, Sense, or Alter the Force. Force Sensitives are another, and can easily be mistaken for simply being incredibly lucky, touched by fate, exceptionally skilled, or highly intuitive. These are people like Han, Lando, Sabine, Wedge, or Poe. Passive Force beneficiaries of "going with the flow" or "being in the zone". Below them are everyone else who lives within the Force as part of it.
3:39 there's lots of cool technology in Star Wars that you don't really ever know about unless you dive deep into a bunch of different sources, but they have things like medical technology that can generate an energy field that kills off microbes and general tech like electrostatic repellers that keep dust/sand/dirt from passing through doors or accumulating on walkways. So, presumably, a table that retracts into the floor has some technological feature that keeps it from being nasty dirty from walking on it.
Ive got amazing timing with the series and Mary. Second week in a row I've finished watching Ahsoka and got on UA-cam and her reaction was the first thing thay popped up.
To explain about Sabine and The Force isnt really a spoiler but ill leave kinda warning. Sabine has never used the force at all that we know of. Ahsoka taking Sabine as an apprentice happened between Rebels s4 and Ahsoka s1. There were hints that she might be "force-sensitive" and this show confirms that she might be. Tho the show is saying its very weak compared to others and mixed that with her mandolorian trainings it make sense why it never has surfaced.
Sabine has no natural talent for the Force, and she did not train enough when she was with Ahsoka to learn to use it. It's not a loss of it from lack of use. She never learned it in the first place.
I’m an absolute sucker for awesome training scenes, and this might become one of my favorites! Not only does it feel like so many classic samurai films, it also proves that Ahsoka isn’t training Sabine to be a Jedi, but a better version of herself. As for the Senate committee, as much as I hate the old trope of “there isn’t enough evidence to support your crazy theory”, how many times throughout modern history has this happened, where a majority government officials either don’t believe or don’t WANT to believe a long believed dead or weakened enemy has come back? Still seeing Jacen talking with Mama Hera about AUNT Sabine made my heart melt! Also, Ahsoka going out into space to fight starfighters with just her lightsabers is exactly the crazy ass thing Anakin would do with Ahsoka if you’ve seen Clone Wars!
This episode was great I enjoyed seeing Ahsoka not only train Sabine but I also enjoyed seeing her defend her ship outside in space using her lightsabers.
I was scrolling on your UA-cam channel and saw that you began watching "The Walking Dead" 6 years ago but you came nowhere. Was there a particular reason you didnt give it a chance. It said on your FAQ page that you hated it, why. I also wonder if you will give it a second chance in the future because it is amazing. I know it's long but it is worth it. I know it slightly declines but that is only because it's standard were so high before that point. I honestly hope you listen to my comment because you would not regret it. to be fair Ahsoka had already taken and walked away from Sabine long before she ever met grogu. So part of why she didn't take grogu was because of her own insecurity about teaching seeing as how she obviously feels like a failure for what happened between her and Sabine.

Sabine's character choices are one of those unfortunate instances where they make a lot of sense as an organic outcome of her backstory through Rebels, but definitely seem irresponsible to a new viewer.
This episode is really the first confirmation that we've had more than one Mandalorian Jedi. Grogu kinda sorta counts, although he isn't training as a Jedi currently. But the other we know almost nothing about. Literally the only thing we know is he was the first Mandalorian to become a Jedi. And he constructed the Darksaber. Also, his name was Tarre Vizsla. You've seen his descendant in The Mandalorian. He was the big guy Mando didn't initially get along with, Paz Vizla. That's one of the reasons he tried to take the Darksaber from Mando in that fight on Ringworld.
Nice reaction Mary, but because the episode was short, the story suffers, alot speculation and not enough answers, for the number of episode's they have planned, it's moving a bit slow to me. 🤔❤
