    As soon as I read PC-12 and “incredibly close over terrain” I knew it was St. Barth lol. Being there watching them land on 10 is always exhilarating. This, however, was an exceptionally low approach!
    Someone very dear to me stood near the wooden fence while I filmed a TBM making the same approach over her head… had it been this day and this PC-12 she could have easily been hit by the gear or worse. That makes me shiver. Next time we’re on the island I think we’ll watch from the far side of the roundabout.

    • @quinton1661

    I know it's their day job, but those ANA 787 pilots deserve a medal. That was a nasty wind shear that made the plane nosedive at the last few seconds of landing. They expertly controlled the plane and didn't even allow it to touch the ground. Very commendable.

    These crosswind landings are so awesome. Bear in mind that the crosswind limit is likely to be a demonstrated limit when the plane is new but also possibly with maximum load and the CoG furthest forward. To be honest, to me that means that from a planes perspective, even if the cross wind is blowing very strongly, so as long as it is blowing consistently in one direction and not shearing, the big planes will land way above their published crosswind limits. A strong wind blowing consistently in one direction can be a planes best friend if you have a competent pilot.

    • @rtbrtb_dutchy4183
      @rtbrtb_dutchy4183 Рік тому

      Technically, it’s not a limit. It’s max demonstrated. Also has nothing to do with the plane being new or old. And the load or CoG is not part of this. Otherwise there would be different numbers for different loads.
