Love what've got goin' on with your channel David! Nice blend of solid playing, teaching and humor! Curiously, what mix is that of Player's Baby Come Back?
Hey Doug! Thank you so much! That is exactly what I am trying to do with my channel, so that means a lot! And I had no clue that my background song was a complete remix of another. The remix is "Sunny Sunny" by Mounika. You can find it on SoundCloud and Spotify most likely! Hope you have a great new year as well!
David, I really don't wanna be "that guy" .. but the lick you play in the video is slightly different from the one you explain here. The original video shows RLLK R/L-LL with R/L being a (flat) flam where snare and stack hit simultaneously. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of your playing.. just wanted to point that little difference out for anyone who might be wondering why they can't get it to sound exactly the same as the original ;-)
Yo man! I understand where your coming from, but I am actually playing that section un-flam-ed... Because of the speed and note rate I'm playing the phrase at, it can have the illusion of being RLLK (L/R)RLL. I also play that phrase in every chorus in the main video and I think it may easier to see the difference there. Don't get me wrong though! Flam-Ing the Left hand there is a great variation in itself and could definitely be used there! (Btw...If it was just (L/R) LL that wouldn't fit well within that phrase since it is 3 notes in a 16th note or 32nd grid. haha...)
Lucas Sidhu If trying to help others and learning in the process is "being that guy", I'll be "that guy." Sorry to hear that you misinterpret my intentions. ***** What I meant by L/R-LL is flam rest LL so it comes down to four notes. Again, I wasn't trying to be a smartass.. just trying to help out. Both stickings are cool anyway, so might as well use 'em all! :)
Reverse the sticking! Or if you really want a challenge learn it as it is because that will just push you past your limits if you can get comfortable with something not starting with your lead limbs!
"so you guys wanna hear it one more time?"
"No" - in the background
0:47 - I'm dying
You're executing everything super dynamically. Thanks
Dude I love that it's not too formal and you made it fun and silly.

YUHUUUU, Super !
Wicked!
2:01.... 2:41.... Maybe for a 32nd 1 bar fill you could do the first two cycles on the hats or a stack, then the last two on toms.

How long were you at Berklee for?
Ciao potresti fare un video sul tuo groove 🙏🏿
Hi, the second half?
David....what if your left handed ?.........its tough being left handed in a right handed drummers world............
Reverse the sticking! Or if you really want a challenge learn it as it is because that will just push you past your limits if you can get comfortable with something not starting with your lead limbs!
It's a left handed paradiddle so it should come naturally
Doramon.....
