I got to meet Indian larry once he really was that kind of guy...
We were in NYC and had broken down I didnt know his shop was only like a mile away.. anyways he was riding by stopped offering help took us to his shop and fixed my bike free of charge and then rode with us out of town to the bridge.. I have pictures of it..
Truly an amazing guy loved what he did.
I cried when I heard he died.. 1 in a million.

I’m it sure shop owners are all that crazy about taking part in those shows anymore after seein the effect it had on other shops. Almost every shop looses their best help from spinoffs or tensions created by the show.
The other major problem is that young people aren’t into this. I watched discovery, TNN (before it became spike) and I couldn’t get my hands on enough hot rod, super Chevy, muscle mustangs, car craft. It’s unfortunate but no one works with their hands and makes stuff anymore. It’s all about texting on your phone, playing video games and all the other stuff kids do these days instead of what we used to do.

Larry was a real artist, bike lover, and beautiful human being.
This show is proof the the great legend of a man, that the world lost far too soon.
RIP Larry. Always missed, and NEVER forgotten.

Yes he was a fabricator. Made parts himself ( Not off the shelf) and the chain bike blew my mind with all the work and exactness it had to have to work. Larry was truly "old school". Cutting brackets off is not the same as building frame parts from scratch.

Keeping things simple is always better. Larry’s bike is absolutely gorgeous! Billy’s bike looks so uncomfortable but it is a sick bike. Larry was always the nicest guy and was awesome how he handled this whole build off.

Indian Larry died a year after this, during his 4th biker build off. He died doing his stunt where he stands on the seat while riding down the road. He fell off his bike "grease Monkey" and hit his head he was airlifted to the hospital where he died from serious head trauma. Rest In Peace Indian Larry you were a class act.

Did the episode ever air? I remember as a kid imitating guys who did that on my bicycle. Could ride on the seat down the road pretty damn good. I can’t imagine falling going 40-50 mph!

these two could teach the country about brotherhood and being kind and having respect for each other and working together .and billy if you spent your time on the bike instead of partying you might just be able to build it with out the hassles .their is plenty of time to party after the build.

I helped my dad with a sales booth at a bike show in Texas. Neither of us are bikers and don't really fit into that world. Indian Larry stopped by our booth on the first day and struck up a conversation with me and my father who is a retired USAF colonel. He was really nice guy and seemed to really enjoy conversations with my father over that weekend. We were both really sad to hear how he passed away. We saw him do that same stunt. He was a one of a kind and a great free spirit American.
