My 2002 avalanche recently had a 3/2 solenoid replaced. Which helped with the first couple of gears, then at 45 to 50 kms. It goes into a neutral state and wont go any faster. Have to drop it into 2 gear to continue driving
When removing the main plug with the large socket can I do this while the transmission is still in the vehicle. I have a 2004 Chevy trailblazer ext. So far this has been the only video showing the removal of that part, but I'm assuming there is another plug that goes into that plug from the outside of the transmission. Probably going to be a real pain. My transmission is having issues staying in overdrive. It is intermittent and super annoying. I have a lot of highway use and I feel it has caused the overdrive solenoids to burn out, increasing the ohms it takes to work them making them work intermittently. Before long I know the will burn out completely. I bought a complete harness and solenoid kit. I just want to have my ducks in a row before fixing it.
I removed my 1-2 accumulator but I can't get my EPC solenoid off. It's stuck in the body. My EPC solenoid is called a pressure control solenoid on my 2007 H3 Hummer. Help please 🥺 I have the new part waiting to be put on.

Hi there, in my 03 hummer h2 I'm getting a code for every solenoid pretty much and the trans is stuck in limp mode pretty much, fluid is red, fuses are good, think it could be this harness or the pcm by the steering wheel maybe?

Possible wire damage. They are known to go bad and give solenoid codes. I'd just replace everything. 5 qts of trans fluid is going for $35 around here. You don't want to have to drop the pan too many times.
Hey brother, I have a question. I'm at 50K on my rebuilt 4L60E. Been running/shifting fine. Then next day, like a switch was flipped and no more 2nd gear. I have 1st, 3rd, and 4th, and Reverse though. Driving it every day, just get it up to 22-23 MPH and feather off gas, let it go up to 3rd gear. I finally got Code 7051 the other day. I dropped pan and replaced A&B Solenoids, but no joy. Fluid is clear and red and no particles in pan indicating wear or breakage. I have ordered a new harness, so keeping fingers crossed, I can drop the pan, R&R the harness, and get 2nd gear back. Otherwise, any ideas... any at all. I have been told its my ignition switch, a piece of paper towel stuck in a tiny orifice hole, bad sprague gear, or bad solenoid. Oh yeah, one said my band was busted LOL... thanks
@@ScottiesHobbies Yes, I did. Forget to mention that. I used my mechanic's pick and worked them all out. Got the trans to drain a lot more fluid. I may do that every time. Based on the way the solenoids are either both on for 1st gear or both off for 3rd gear, the ON/OFF for 2nd and OFF/On for 4th, I am completely baffled why I don't have 2nd. Thanks again
@@ScottiesHobbies Hey Scott, Some good news. I figured out what the problem was. Since nothing was fixing it, I made up a switch box and plugged it into top of Trans, along with powering it up using the Cig Lighter. Now I have turned my automatic into a manual shift using 3 toggle switches. 2 switches for A and B solenoids and 1 switch for TCC lockup. Problem Solved!! Turns out it is a bad ECU. Using the switch box (should have done this as a 1st step) allowed me to shift through all the gears. I have solid positive hook up in every gear. ALthough gotta be careful as line pressure is maxed out and 1-2 shift can be neck snapping. Easy to just let RPM's come back to idle then shift. Anyway, thanks again for taking time to help me out. Just not what I expected. I now have another good homemade tool. Appreciate you guys taking time to help figure these things out. Means a lot to me and hopefully now someone else might be able to solve their transmission problems. It is not always easy to trouble shoot and mine didn't give a code, but once and then it was completely unrelated to the actual cause of problem.

Thanks for your time
My pleasure
Oh yeah, one said my band was busted LOL... thanks
When you replaced the A and B solenoids did you check the shift valves to ensure they freely moved?
I can’t get the epc siloed to come out any tricks
I had to replace my whole wiring harness cause that stupid connecters plastic clips broke and started leaking fluid like crazy,
2000 chevy s10
93 chevy k1500 w a 350 small block engine. Replacing my trans and the one I bought to replace it had pins missing in the connector so I need to change that out.
Is the PIN missing? Does it look like it was there once upon a time? Or did you happen to get a transmission that was not compatible with your year computer?
So true if it's not a 93 or 94 it won't work with your truck. At least that's what I was told by 6 machines
What's up dude 2007 Tahoe was yanking the engine out to do put it in another vehicle and I cracked the top of the plug and it cracked three of the Clips off but one clip is still holding you think that'll work or should I change it out
Are you talking about the harness into the transmission body?
@@ScottiesHobbies yes the one you use the socket to take off is it like a one and a half inch socket it broke three of the four clips and I it went in a little bit and I pulled it back up with a needle nose and it just is holding by One Clip could I J-B Weld the rest
I've seen these leak a lot from that connection. If I were you I would replace it.
To get the main wiring harness disconnect push left and right side hard with your ands tool me hours to fight it out
Working on my 2012 Colorado can I do this with the transmission still in
You can but I am not sure if you have the 4L60E in that year vehicle.
I have a 2012 3.7 Chevy Colorado
I just don’t want to mess with my valve body
Do you have to remove the 1-2 accumulator to remove the hardness?
No
Scotties Hobbies awesome, thanks for the quick response.
@@Lowrider_Mike No problem. Good luck on your DIY fix.
I have code p0753. Changed solenoid, didnt work. Will changing the harness be a good move to try now?
When you changed the harness did it solve the problem, cuz I have same code and getting ready to replace shift A
@@blakepressley1339 I ended up not having to change the harness. Just had terrible luck with solenoids. Did the process of switching them out a 2nd time and all was well. Having a guy with a badass computer hooked to my truck was a big help
People make me sick when they complain about other people videos 🙄
I try to let most of the negative slide. Its par for the coarse, I am learning.
I feel the need to apologize for the way I worded my first comment in no way did I mean any disrespect so I had to edit my comment I'd hate to end up blocked from seeing these videos. So I apologize to both the owner of this channel and to it's viewers.
I know this was 4mos ago but when I saw this comment I reflected on my comment because I too don't like when people post offensive things or complain about something just because they couldn't do it 😉 these videos are very helpful
This video was awsome what's to complain
Very helpful. Thanks.
What's the difference between the tcc pwm solenoid and the tcc solenoid...I'm getting code po740
The TCC pwm is a pulse with module solenoid. The other TCC solenoid is a on off solenoid. If you look at my other videos I just uploaded a video regarding these to solenoid a couple days ago. I get asked these questions a lot. In that video I show you how to quickly check both of those solenoids if you need to.
Can’t the valve body be took off safely while still in the vehicle?
Yes.
I just happen to have one laying around.
That main plug cracked when removing my trans. Didnt know till I was filling it.
Oh the joy!
2003 Chevy Tahoe 4wd to 2wd converting.
That piston assembly is upside down??
This piston assembly had 4 or 5 fender washers in it too. Not the only odd part to this tranny.
I wanted to see how the EPC retainer installs. Too fast
Nice Job
Thanks man
really helpful
Thank
Glad to help. Good luck on your fix.
it would nice if was on the vehicle so you see with out dropping the transmission
The lighting sucks down there.
All the ads necessary?
That's a complaint for UA-cam. I just allow them to lay ads, I have no choice on anything else. Google probably knows you really need something. Lol. Thanks for the view and comment.
@@ScottiesHobbies Hey no problem. Nice video.
Can you remove the harness without dropping the transmission?
Yes
@@ScottiesHobbies can it be done with out pulling the valve body? In the same way you show just using the socket?
@@jau4000 yes. It's a fairly easy job. If you look in the description I should have been linked to get a master wiring harness kit. That includes the solenoid, switches, and the harness and one kit. If you're going to get in there to replace it you might as well get in there and replace it all.
@@ScottiesHobbies damn right. Wish the guy who rebuilt the trans before I bought my 95 k1500 replaced the torque convertor. That's how my mess started.
Can I upgrade a 93 4l60e to have the tcc pwm?
