Love the video. I chopped my Trailrunner body by taking 1" from bottom. Now it sits lower and is much less floppy not to mention, it looks pretty cool. Been thinking of going 4 link on the Ecto and put trailing arms on the Trailrunner.
Hey the new losi rock bouncer is looking a lot the the truck you built a year ago out of the techno chassis rock bouncer crawler. I think you made this vehicle not knowing they were on the same page. You should revisit those videos and build to show you were ahead of the game!
I did the exact same thing to my Rc4wd Gelande 2. But instead of using adapter plates to keep the wheelbase the same I installed the arms to the stock location. Things a different truck now
Cool suspension upgrade. I don't like the Proline Gladiator body at all. It looks very distorted to me. I especially don't like it with IFS, since never have I ever seen a Gladiator with IFS. It sounds like your mind is made up though. I'd consider the Proline Colorado ZR2, it's also a bit distorted, but at least those have IFS in 1:1. The Proline Raptor is cool, and I think they serve fine as a trial truck. The Proline Metric (Toyota) body is a GREAT fit for this build. Finally, the Traxxas TRX4 Sport body I see on your shelf would also be a nice fit. In the end, it's your call though.
I saw a pic of a gladiator Baja race truck somewhere. It had ifs and the paint job didn’t look too difficult. Most likely this chassis will end up with a solid front axle in there. But I have the body here and it’s very convenient and could get some heat from the jeep guys....LoL.
It would make a cool pre runner with that set up but I'd go with a Toyota truck body by proline it works great on my element and it works great if iterested I can send a pic but keep up great work and have a wonderful day
If you have the ability to make your own scale bumper stickers I'm suggesting "I can do the nasty" for any of your trucks that complete the "nasty" line. When I saw the green bumper sticker on this truck I thought of it. 😄
@@ExocagedRC sweet, cant wait to see it. I would love the opportunity (If I live closer) to see if any of my trucks are capable enough to do the nasty.
Yeah a sticker line about the Nast and the happy face, I forget what you called him, would be great merch. But you also need something for your Segway line... Take a look.
I've looked at the Raptor, only issue is to make that work I'll need to brushless it and make it way faster. I kinda want to keep this one as a trail truck ish.
I decided to go to the skate park the other day with my Monster Slash 4x4 VXL I swapped to an 11 tooth pinion from the 13 factory for more torque. When jumping it the thing just wouldn't behave in the air since I had no experience plus seeing it land on its nose, tail, and roof was not fun. When it did land on all 4s the suspension bottomed out and the back end bounced up so hard it would flip it over forwards on its lid. It does have the Proline dual spring shocks on it with a medium set of springs and I think 30wt oil. Would swapping to the firmest springs and raising the oil weight help? Sorry for the length but trying to cover all bases. Thx
nice video, how does it cope with driving on side slopes? how controlled do you think the chassis/body is? I find long travel can be a problem at times! Is the front limited in travel? many questions I know 🍺🇬🇧
I did this to my IFS Element RC after watching Extreme RC's video. I really like how it moves. I'm running the stock motor at the moment, but am thinking of a 13 turn 5 slot for a bit more speed. What do you recommend Joe?
With the trailing arms installed, you have to go with either a C10 or a metric body for a prerunner build. And get that roc412HD with a mamba X in that thing already!! 😂
I think the Gladiator body would be awesome expressly with the independent suspension up front. An awesome video. That trailing arm conversion available for other brands?
Looks like a nice setup. Like so many others had said it’s becoming a pre runner. Whatever you do though please do not put a Jeep body on this! It will make jeep lovers everywhere cry 😭
any of these on ebay would work rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm570.l1313%26_nkw%3Daxial%2Byeti%2Brear%2Btrailing%2Barms%26_sacat%3D0&campid=5338273090&toolid=20008
I might be a little out of line here but if you don’t want that body no more, may I get it?😂Please? I’ll give you $45. More if you want but $45 seems fair.
You could make a cool pre runner build with that suspension setup

Man I’d love to see a Trophy truck build!!! Like if you agree
I really like the whole setup.
I like how you said you wouldn't upgrade this truck. You can't help yourself. That's great. I know the feeling

IF u dont have shock pliers, BUY THEM NOW!!!
1 of the top 3 tools (that should be) in everyone's tool box!!!
Nice. You can really see the articulations in the rear really good. That backend flexin is rad. To much rubbin now.
Just ordered a set and got the trailing arms from amain. Along with a shock tool. I measured the shocks they are 3.02mm
Cool suspension upgrade.

That's what I was thinking too sr5 Toyota with ifs 👍🏻
Got to love the 4.19 KLR Choo-Choo tires! 🤣 trim the rear of the body a bit. Makes a big difference.
These will be coming off for some totally new to market tires...stay tuned!!
Joe I have the same setup in mine & I luv it!

Cool idea and I just painted the line yesterday evening. I'm planning on a bunch of little vinyl cut stickers

Well good upgrade I’d say 👍👍👍
Trophy build would be interesting
Really surprised me how much that extra travel improved in the ruts!
me too, I have more footage I may put together that just wouldn't fit in this video.
Dude! Would you get the fender that your missing STILL! its driving me CRAZY!
lol I've emailed them a few times, I'm going to change the body soon, most likely the next video of this.
Exocaged RC have you tried calling them. I think because of COVID is why your having an issue getting a hold of anyone.
I like the kit... But a new body is definitely needed... And delete the rear factory shock hoops (to clean it up)
Raptor body would go with that suspension set up better than a jeep
I've looked at the Raptor, only issue is to make that work I'll need to brushless it and make it way faster. I kinda want to keep this one as a trail truck ish.
@@ExocagedRC I just looked it up and there are IFS kits for wranglers. With this knowledge I so jeep is good with me. 😆 as if it matters
I need that kit for my element ford raptor build. Would be perfect to go with the ifs I have now.
Awesome well links in description
Imagine that truck with lockable diffs and a 2 speed, and that suspension... It would be the ultimate universal basher.
Oh yeah a super awesome C1 truck and even a C2 truck.
Forgive me for being dumb but what's the rubber band for?
Proline sr5 Toyota would be awesome it has ifs 👍🏻💯
I think a axial honcho body would look killer on that chassis with the ifs or even the metric body
now it's basically a trophy truck chassis lol, independant front susp and rear trailling arms
Trophy trucks do not have frame rails... tube chassis... this is more like a prerunner
Hi awesome mod and it looks really cool. Did you know you can do this on a scx10ii honcho with only buying the yeti lower arms 😁😁
How are you liking the voodoo tires?

cool bro
Do you think theres a way of mounting two shocks at the rear with the kit installed?
I’m sure there is but I don’t see a need for it.
Great looking rig, the suspension really improved!!! Do you think the rod ends will work on Trx4 shocks? Get a Creep body, its your trademark!!!
they should and yea I do like the creep body but this one isn't getting that. Most likely a gladiator
interesting video, was this done to improve performance or for scale looks
nice video, how does it cope with driving on side slopes? how controlled do you think the chassis/body is? I find long travel can be a problem at times! Is the front limited in travel? many questions I know 🍺🇬🇧
So would that work on a 10.2 looks like it would
A lot of stuff changes over between the two trucks so it’s very possible.

with the 550 size go with the 8t Crawlmaster Sport, in the 540 size go with the 13t

LoL I’m trying my best to keep this one cheap.
@@ExocagedRC don't kid yourself 😆😆😆

I don’t think so. Well not yet..
@@ExocagedRC I think a set up on the honcho would be beneficial.
$65 for kit pretty steep. We could 3d print parts like this can get same results but glad to see high quality alluminum options.
Printed would require a bunch more supports. This stuff is pretty darn solid.
Exocaged RC yeah that’s true! All part of the hobby break fix repeat 😂 looks pre runner it look sick with roll cage back half cab Toyota up front.
Looks like a nice setup. Like so many others had said it’s becoming a pre runner. Whatever you do though please do not put a Jeep body on this! It will make jeep lovers everywhere cry 😭
lol well.....how about a gladiator? hehehehe
Joe keep it toyota please lol
We want new body 🤓
soon
Enough Jeeps! You have an IFS, don't put a Jeep on it, keep it a scale 4runner.
What is the orange string about and pully on back?
DSM Offroad Kinetic Recovery, its awesome
BTW, I love your videos. Take a look!
How about mid to late 90’ model Chevy truck body. That’s something that I haven’t seen a lot of on these You Tube.videos
Interesting.
any links for the rear trailing arms ?

Hey, do you know the dimensions for the roof on this rig? Thanks
Put 4.75 tires on it
Nah too big for what I need out of it
Exocaged RC I just wanna see it run on those
So what is the difference between trailing arms and links?
more travel and articulation mostly. Some like a lot of flex some don't
With links your shocks are mounted at the axle, with trailing arms your shocks are mounted on the arms and it changes the driving dynamic in the rear.
NorthSanDiegoRC sure does.
No IFS on a Jeep!!!!
I might be a little out of line here but if you don’t want that body no more, may I get it?😂Please? I’ll give you $45. More if you want but $45 seems fair.
that may happen
