Thanks for the video. Those came out great! Do you have any tips on printing with Sculpt? If and when I get a resin printer I intend to print mostly with Sculpt and Blue. Thanks and I hope you nail em with the squids.
Glad you like it! I think the biggest thing with the sculpt is temperature. It’s likes warm and it needs to be consistent. I set up a heated enclosure using a fish tank outlet thermometer a small space heater and a tent style 3d printer enclosure. It go’s without saying don’t leave a setup like this unattended. I also just wash mine with a toothbrush because if it is submerged in alcohol it will start to break down and you get these white stringy bits.
@@mikewaskewicz Yeah I think a lot of the engineering resins get a bad rap from people trying to print it without an enclosure. As long as you have one you shouldn’t have any issues
Hello , I make molds with a 3D printer and cast them with RTV2 molder silicone. It costs me approximately 1 dollar, but its structure is not soft enough, it is very difficult to find the product you use in Turkey, the cost increases a lot when purchased from abroad. Is there a product with similar softness that you would recommend? thank you in advance
That's awesome!. I would love to know what fish these lures can catch in Turkey. Unfortunately I am not aware what would be available there. Although some people make soft plastics out of silicone that is not the normal material used. They do make silicone soft enough to use for lures but I'm not sure if its available in your country. The material that most soft plastic lures are made of is called plastisol. I cannot provide you a vender for your country but I would try searching that.
Hello sir. This would kick some butt on the sandies and calicos here in California. Do you sell the mold? I have the FGF squid mold, but i like variety. That is an awesome mold.
Glad you like it. Unfortunately I am not selling the physical molds. The files to make them are free however. Maybe you can find someone with a 3d printer to make it for you
I don't know anyone that smart to print a mold..haha. Let me know if you change your mind or know somebody that can print it for me. I have a couple aluminum squid molds, but nothing like that!
How long does that squid lure mold last? I’ve seen and read they melt very quickly and you don’t get many baits from them? There’s a guy selling one on eBay and wants 110 bux for it. Don’t wanna pay that if not gonna last?
It would depend on what the mold is made of. If its made out of what I use it should last a really long time. I would be happy to take a look at it if you share the link.
I would recomend against buying that. Its a ripoff for the price. My mold files are free for personal use. The squid mold file in this video is free to download.

@@HandCraftedAngling Thanks! I heard it was a pretty fussy resin to print with so your info gives a good place to start.

Do you make a squidtrex type mold ?
Not at the moment just a regular lipless crankbait. I want to try out some internally weighted soft plastics in the future.

@@HandCraftedAngling it’s the same colour as the one in your video. I would imagine it’s the same. It’s on eBay Australia.
Also 110 dollars is way to much for that

@@HandCraftedAngling yeah. It’s actually 100 which is about 75 US I think
