Pickles is interesting to me. Part of what makes her so attractive to people is her bubbly, ditzy nature. Realistically, Pickles is extremely self-absorbed, and the cuteness is a cover for a lack of self-control and regard for others. But it's easy for people to forget that because she makes you do the same thing she does - ignore reality like Mr. PB does when he starts dating her. Pickles outright IGNORES Diane here, and it's not because she's forgetful. It's because she needs attention from an easy target like PB. She has nothing to gain from Diane, and Diane can't make a scene because then she would be the bad guy. I want to like Pickles. And I do feel bad that she gets cheated on. But she's really not as innocent as people perceive her.
I think that at this point, Pickles was already a bit jealous of Diane, thus why she chose to ignore her. Even if divorced, seeing how they still have dinner together (even if is the first time she sees them, but she's interested in PB). So naturally she ignores Diane, pretty much any woman would have this reaction. I don't think you can determine from here Pickles was self absorbed. But to me, Pickels started degrading in my eyes after she and PB made that deal of her sleeping with another guy to get back at him because of the cheating incident. And she started using that in her advantage, sleeping around with 32 guys and still claiming it wasn't even because she didn't had an emotional connection. Then also when he brings his friend and after she sleeps with him and then goes to tour, while PB was fine with it. I felt like she started manipulating him ever since the cheating incident, she was always guilting him about it and took advantage of it as much possible. And because she looks like a innocent dizzy girl, and PB was too permisisve, she went overboard with it. Definitely, I didn't liked her at all. One of the reasons I could watch this show over and over again are the little scenes and stories that happen in the background. Notice the pig gets upset when the table next to them gets a pig head for dinner.
Pickles embodies a Pug's personality as fully as Mr. Peanutbutter does a Lab's. Obviously someone at BJH is a keen observer of dog breeds' diverse natures.
Now pickles can be a lovely girl, a sweet girl... But am I the only one who finds her utterly immature, annoying and sometimes careless about others, specifically Mr peanutbutter?
@BB Hoody What...? You misunderstood what I said. INTELLECTUALLY, it is important and not "just a number". People are whining about Pickles but she's young and dating a man twice her age - no shit there will be differences in terms of maturity. I just hate Pickles haters with shitty reasons. They also forget she's a fucking dog, like Mr.Pb, and both have similar personalities because of that . I honestly don't understand how they hate Pickles but love Mr.Pb. "Oh he has depth" - fuck, Pickles was a NEWLY introduced character. She'll get depth eventually but they gotta lay off for real.
Pickles is dressed just like Diane when she met mr. Peanutbutter who was just divorcing his 2nd wife. Watching PB flirt with pickles is really showing her that their first connection she use to remember as really nice and meaningful wasn't healthy at all. She was just like pickles. A naive 20 something year old who felled for the charm of a much older divorcing man but failed to see the red flags that were in the first interaction.
Not to mention how Mr PB met both Pickles and DIane while the two were working similar jobs! Like Pickles is a waitress while Diane worked as a Starbucks employee ( if I remember correctly ?? ). It's so interesting seeing the different character parallels the show includes.
There's something to be said about that. I knew, and was even involved with, guys that seemed to date girls that were always very young. Not like 16 but 18/19. It didn't seem strange at first because there were in their mid 20s. But the older they got it became more apparent. They would break up with their girlfriends, then date the 19 year olds again, until they were well into their 30s. I think this show exemplifies this in the fact that PB doesn't want to mature and instead wants a partner that is naive enough to put off reality for as long as needed until the girlfriend outgrows them and reminds them they're in s state of arrested development. Then the cycle begins anew. Sadly the older you get, the creepier it comes off. Do you want to be pushing 40 with a fresh out of high school girlfriend? It comes off as pathetic.
The tragedy of PB is that he says yes to everything and has love for everyone. So he'll marry pretty much any girl that falls into his orbit. He can't judge who is and isn't a good match for him. And his last three wives were all too young and naive to understand that he was not a good match for them. I mean it is kinda fucked up that all the women in his life keep trading up. He didn't dump any of his wives. They just grew out of loving him. And every time he's the one who's left behind alone.
Ugh since her first scene I found Pickles so annoying but I feel bad for her because Mr. Peanut butter is cheating on her with Diane and leading her on.
I despise Pickles. Yeah, MPB cheated on her, but she's also the one who dragged his private life into the public eye, and aired all their dirty laundry on the internet for petty revenge. As far as I'm concerned, those two deserve each other.
@@Santoryu90 many people dislike her because of how ridiculous she is. at one point, she twerked on live tv that was supposed to be for families. pretty fucking disgusting that a grown woman twerks and says it’s family friendly. anyways, that’s only one of the things that people don’t like her for.
I used to laugh at the trough joke but now that I work in food service that’s literally what I do so I don’t have to pay for groceries and there’s less compost to chuck at the end of the night lol.
Also, there’s a weird scene where Diane is talking to Peanut Butter and at the back, there’s a dead pig’s head at the right where the couples eat and the other one is at the left where one pig is ordering something. Like you didn’t see that? Wow, that’s cruelty because now in this series they eat chickens, fish, beef, and pigs in this series. Okay if I was a rabbit for having a dinner, then I get the fuck out of this restaurant.
They had an episode where they showed off the "chicken farm" of the series, where its fully grown chickens who have been inbred to retardation and kept stupid so they can be farmed for meat products. It's likely something similar here with the pig. Its meant for black humor, but they could have gone around it by saying lab grown meat has been perfected and made mainstream.
Pickles' personality reminds me Mr Peanutbutter's earlier one, like they said in one episode, a happy out going person who sees everything positive and silver linnings in Dark clouds. However, that's my first impression. Not sure if it is true, but it would be interesting because Mr Peanutbutter is not that kind of "person" anymore.
I can kind of see that. I think he has his depressions but is still the upbeat Mr Peanutbutter. I would be very sad if he did become a nihilist though, because the reason I love him so much is because he’s a bright spot in a very dark world.
@@benfrank8649 Like in real life, people always change, even if it is just a little, but we cannot be the same as before because of our personal experiences with life and With our interpersonal relationships. Wow Ace, I really appreciate your thoughtful answer. What I love about the show is as much as it’s a silly cartoon it also touches on very deep issues that most TV shows never come close to. I can see that Diane’s relationship with Mr. Peanutbutter has caused some mauration on his part. Perhaps he’s now facing the darkness of the world more directly. As for nihilism, I don’t think that’s accurate per se. I think it was season two Mr Peanutbutter said something like life is pointless and all you can do is fill it with nonsense until you die. Mr. Peanutbutter is Bojack’s shadow self and vice versa. The nihilism is always in him he has just buried it. Just like goodness is always in Bojack but for various reasons it’s also hidden deep within his psyche. I think for both characters (maybe less so for PB) they are at that pivotal place where they see the darkness and can either allow it to make them more honest with themselves and mature or just darker and more nihilistic. I think it’s a great opportunity though. Mr. Peanutbutter has always been happy, but I don’t believe true happiness is possible until one has looked deeply into the suffering and understands it and finds a way to be happy anyway. I think he’s finally at a point where he has to look at it. Who knows, maybe Pickles and his career will be useful distractions for him to continue avoiding it.

Pickles is that kind of people that see so many positive things of everyone to avoid the Reality but at same time is annoying and inmature. Like a sunshine who can trust with but later you see their nihilist side and betray you. In other words, fake person. But hey, we need a sunshine in our lifes and is pleasant spend time with them to forget our negativity. Well played.
I feel like it’s hard for people to understand this character if they aren’t at all similar to this character. She’s young and immature and even though it’s “annoying” it doesn’t necessarily make them fake. I don’t ever understand how people who are naturally positive in life are seen as fake people, because anybody can also be negative and fake too. They aren’t living in some delusion. There is nothing wrong with them. They just haven’t went through really difficult situations in life yet, which is why she is immature. You can see this when she sleeps with so many people after PB cheats on her because it’s the first time she is approaching this situation and she ends up looking extremely selfish but what else do you expect from someone who has not grown up yet?
As someone who worked in a restaurant, most people don’t like overly cheerful waiters/waitresses and for some reason, the waiters don’t fucking understand that
People complain about her being immature when she's like to only 20 year old surrounded by people in their 40s and 50s like?!! Of course she is. I really see her as a victim in the situation. The power dynamic between her, PB and Dianne is definitely off.
Regardless, I'm glad that Mr. Peanutbutter and Diane are still friends even though they're divorced, most divorced couples can't even be in the same room together. Take it from someone with divorced parents who won't even text each other when I switch between their houses.
She just drew a little smiley face, oh my god, how is she so cute? If she was real she'd definitely be annoying but here she's literally too adorable for words.
I feel like this scene is a perfect representation of how fans of the show feel about Pickles. Some are annoyed by her antics and behavior (Diane) and the others think she's fun (Mr Peanutbutter)
Just noticed that at 1:26 there is a pig customer on the left looking uncomfortably at the couple eating the pig head on the right LOL. Also there's a corgi bartender at 1:41 licking a cup to clean it!
Everyone that is trying to convince themselves that pickles is the villain of the show or even this season, please keep in mind that the main character for which the show is named literally almost fucked a teenager, and Mr peanut butter is very clearly flirting with her or preparing to flirt with her before his divorce is even over. This is like the third time he's done this and he's almost 50 years old... Not interested in arguing just reminding people to use their brains! :) Every time he started to notice trouble in his relationships that he caused, he starts accepting and encouraging attention from a younger (more naive) woman. Diane has every right to be upset here, not primarily because a young flighty woman is being young and flighty, because her 50 year old husband who is stalling on the divorce papers (coincidentally until he feels like he has a young crutch to lean on so his ego doesn't shatter) is actively encouraging it. In almost the exact same way that he was getting attention from her when he was still married to Jessica Biel. She even says out loud that if they get into a fight it's probably not going to actually be because of the waitress going to be because of their issues, and she mentions that she's upset with Mr peanut butter for entertaining it. At this point she's a pretty good communicator and she's saying exactly what's on her mind, nobody has to put words in her mouth.
Yes and no. Though you’re right that Mr. Peanutbutter is encouraging it Pickles could have turned him down. Instead she rushes to the table every time Diane mentions the divorce papers. I don’t think she’s the villain, there are worse characters in this show. But she made some poor judgments. And she would be 24-25 here. 25 is young but, not young enough to not think logically. But like another comment said it is possible for more than one person to be bad at the same time
Has anyone uploaded the scene where PB proposes to Pickles? I can't find it anywhere and I'd love to see PB dig himself deeper into his own well-deserved grave.

Yo, don't be talkin' bout my girl Pickles.
pugs are naturally cute and chunky
Stfu Omar.
I give you a gold star because you spelled "thick" properly
THICKLES
You can see this when she sleeps with so many people after PB cheats on her because it’s the first time she is approaching this situation and she ends up looking extremely selfish but what else do you expect from someone who has not grown up yet?
had a friend just like that and this just clicked now after reading this, ur so right
people's twenties are kinda like that
The uncomfortable pig looking at the pig head is just the best. XD I love all those easter eggs.
As someone who worked in a restaurant, most people don’t like overly cheerful waiters/waitresses and for some reason, the waiters don’t fucking understand that
For me it kind of depends on the waiter/waitress. Some of them are much better at keeping the cheer from being obnoxious than others.
i feel like more could've been done with pickles' character in season 6, i love her and her VA's performance so much!
1:28 are we gonna ignore the pig who keeps looking at the couple eating a pig head? xdddd
You can't believe how much I scrolled looking for this comment!
1:24 is no one going to mention the couple eating a pigs head while there’s a pig sitting like 10 feet away from them
I know how insensitive. They could easily have invited that other pig as well. The head is big enough for 3
Frank West lmao 😂
Pickles is so underrated
She's like a female Mr. Peanutbutter but even cuter
Pickles is so cute I love how her and mr p act like super cheerful because they are over excitable dogs!
People complain about her being immature when she's like to only 20 year old surrounded by people in their 40s and 50s like?!! Of course she is. I really see her as a victim in the situation. The power dynamic between her, PB and Dianne is definitely off.
nahh shes still an adult.
She was 24 bro.....
She shows traits of adhd or autism trust I’ve met people who behave like this
I really like pickles as a character, but for god's sake she's literally 25.
She acts more like a 14 year old.
@@aperson3269 this is how I know you’re not an adult
Regardless, I'm glad that Mr. Peanutbutter and Diane are still friends even though they're divorced, most divorced couples can't even be in the same room together. Take it from someone with divorced parents who won't even text each other when I switch between their houses.
Pickles is lowkey kinda *THICC*
THICCLES!
Shutup
KennethVargas 20
*No.*
"so what you're saying is they get older while I stay the same age?"
Me: I’m not a furry, lol.
Prickles: hold my water dish
Mr Peanutbutter reminds me a lot of my dad, except he has never been divorced.
Hey! Mr. Chocolate Hazelnut Spread
She just drew a little smiley face, oh my god, how is she so cute?
If she was real she'd definitely be annoying but here she's literally too adorable for words.
Just noticed at 1:46 the pig looks at the other table eating a pig head.
I love Pickles. I think that for once he found someone who will stick around
this didn’t age well.
@@kyoshiki4251😂😂😂
I feel like this scene is a perfect representation of how fans of the show feel about Pickles. Some are annoyed by her antics and behavior (Diane) and the others think she's fun (Mr Peanutbutter)
Oh Pickles so happy and full of energy when we first met her , just wait until season 6
Just noticed that at 1:26 there is a pig customer on the left looking uncomfortably at the couple eating the pig head on the right LOL. Also there's a corgi bartender at 1:41 licking a cup to clean it!
Mr. PeanutButter pretends to "play it cool" then when Pickles leaves, he puts the menu right side up
Pickles is adorable, oh my godddddd.
You can see dianes frustration building up both due to the waitress interupting her and due to jealousy for mr peanut butter
Every time he started to notice trouble in his relationships that he caused, he starts accepting and encouraging attention from a younger (more naive) woman.
This
We get it. But it's still fair to say shes annoying. Its possible for more than one person to be "bad" at the same time
But like another comment said it is possible for more than one person to be bad at the same time
You can instantly tell that Pickles and Mr PB like each other and Diane is jealous.
Also I love pugs.
I feel like I'm the only one who really liked her character
I know this may sound cruel but I really hope things don’t work between Pickles and Mr. Peanutbutter in season 6
Turns out, you have predicted the future
Oh thank the lord, I already couldn’t stand this scene
Everytime Pickles was on screen I wanted to throw something at the TV
Has anyone uploaded the scene where PB proposes to Pickles? I can't find it anywhere and I'd love to see PB dig himself deeper into his own well-deserved grave.
I do :)
im70pecentwater
*M e t o o*
*1:35** Pig person having dinner next to a couple having pig for dinner.*
1:25 omg the pig being uncomfortable hahaha
His sorrow been imposed by the humans
The pig in the background looking at the pig head on the other couple's table, though
Love how the one couple behind Diane is eating a pig head and there’s a pig right next to them giving them a dirty look.
MORE LIKE THICCLES HAHAHHAHAH SOMEONE PLEASE STOP ME
I don't get it... What does thiccles mean?
@@eduardoalvaradosalazar7830 the joke is that she thick and her name is pickles
OH MY GAWD THE PIGS IN THE BACK
I feel like Pickles will end up out Mr. Peanutbuttering, Mr. Peanutbutter
Bojacks writers owe me a dead horseman
1:29 i like how the couple in the background is having a pork head and pig is staring them from a parallel table.
Anyone else here for the Pig sub-plot in the background? NO? okay well...
Here is a cheat sheet: 0:31, 0:35, 1:23, 1:36, 1:46, 1:49
The way she says "food tho?"
Pickles the Waitress was born the same year I was
1886?
Me too!
"Hi, I'm Pickles!"
"Woah! 😮"
The way Diane went off at Pickles
"HE WANTS THE TRUFF!"
I'm sorry Diane I have no idea what you said, I'm watching the pig going from happy to horrified and sad in the background lmao
It's like when someone gets excited to visit a place he hates only to say that he doesn't want to go there, but goes there anyway
Pickles appeared first on season 2 or 3 where Bojack was going thru seriese of interviews about his Secretariat movie. She was one of many interviewers
Really!?
Lol no, they're the same dog breed, but that was an old lady.
I never realized everytime Diane mentions the divorce papers Pickles shows up
Basically Kelly Kapur from the office. What a small world we live in.
i like the detail in the background of a couple eating a pig's head while a pig just watches concerned in the background
When Diane had that talk with Pickels where she condolences her made me so mad bc Diane and Mr PB could've had that talk so much earlier,
I definitely don't like Pickles as much as I like Mr. Pickles.
My favorite part is the pig in the backround looking at the table beside her
Okay... Pickles is THICK, THERE I SAID IT.
The bartender is licking the cups and wiping them down.
I like how the people in the back totally change in like the last 2 seconds
I just noticed that mr peanutbutter meets his next fiance immeadietly after divorcing the last one...
Diane was also a waitress when peanutbutter plucked her.
Also, did no one else notice the bartender licking the glass?
i gotta confess
after watching the entire series, i still can't fucking stand Mr Peanutbutter.
0:32 that poor pig man 😂😂 that's actually foul but understandable. Birds must be traumatized in this show 😂
Because chicken is a very common food everywhere 😅
I-I as I’m watching this scene, you see a pig and then on side you see two having pig for dinner- but I love the show Bojack horseman
