I love that Bojack Horseman has space for a character like PB. It can tackle such dark topics like sexual assault and depression, but leave room for PB simple-minded lighthearted nature without dismissing his character and worldview. They delve into his "silly" antics and his problems just as much the other characters, even if they seem "surface-level", and showcase how it is both a strength and a weakness to live that way, instead of making him the dumb joke just because he doesn't think as "deeply" as other characters. Him confronting Bojack about kissing Diane is such an amazing moment.

IMHO, animal stereotype humor is one of the lazier jokes the show has made. EDIT: I accept it as a part of the genre, but I feel the strongest aspects of the show are derived elsewhere.
I hate what they did with the characters in Sing! They’re animal characters and are animals because they would be marketable and cute. They didn’t poke fun at the designs and make any animal jokes.
An example of BoJack acting like a horse: when he gets spooked by a plastic bag (you don't see it happen; he just mentions how he got spooked by a plastic bag in a garage). And he also apparently has the strength of a real horse, since he was able to carry the Hollywood D back to his house all by himself.
In the episode “Stop the Presses” (roughly 3 1/2 minutes in), someone is going through a file on BoJack. His medical info is listed in equestrian terms.

My first impression of Mr. PB was he was being passive agressive and he wasn't a genuinely sweet guy, he quickly became one of my favorite characters and i'm so glad I was wrong.

Horses are highly social beings, and it is highly unusual for a horse to be alone. Explains Bojack's loneliness especially when you consider the void created in him since his parents did not bond with him in his childhood.

I think Mr. Peanut Butter is one of the best names you can have for a Golden Retriever: gold color (duh), shiny coat, thicc, friendly for all adult and children (of course if you are allergic to dog or peanut), plus, you never can not handle "too much of it".
The funniest thing about that bit where Mr. Peanutbutter is watching Bones is that they actually got the real Emily Deschanel to guest-star in that episode and she actually said "To the Bones-mobile!".
Well actually Princess Carolyn is shown to be extremely agile in later episodes,really playing off that feline agility. And to a lesser degree, the animals often use those stereotypes as one off gags, like moths eating their own clothing and the elephant in the room joke

Well actually Princess Carolyn is shown to be extremely agile in later episodes,really playing off that feline agility. And to a lesser degree, the animals often use those stereotypes as one off gags, like moths eating their own clothing and the elephant in the room joke
