- Some extra clips of my 2023 Salmon River fishing trip. Video includes fly fishing the Douglaston Salmon Run on the Salmon River. Prior day was slow but the next day the fishing turned for the better. You can never predict how the fishing will be but sometimes it's all about being in the right place at the right time.

I fished salmon river for 30 years in Douglaston. Love that stretch of river. One thing I learned, if fish is hooked in mouth you land it close where you hooked it. If it runs you fouled hooked it. I stopped going few years ago when my daughters gave it up. Good luck to everyone fishing. Fish on.

I have seen fish run for the hills and hooked in the mouth, too.
It's still early there in Pulaski I live 45 minutes away from Pulaski and on the other side of Oswego and there is more fish in the Oswego river than Pulaski has in the salmon river. If you want to have a awesome time you should fish the Oswego river in Oswego new york 25 minutes away from Pulaski It's a awesome time right now lot of salmon and trout
Caught a nice coho at the Douglason Run a couple days ago. There was a lot of action that day! Guys were hooking onto them left and right all morning long!
There's nothing better than a coho bite! Well, maybe a nice brown or steelhead will compare. Congrats!

I was using various colors of estaz eggs buy flow green seem to be working for me. I have a video coming that will show my secret egg pattern that may be "illegal"!

@@CruzN4Fish none yet. There were a couple Cohos landed. We fished right below that whirlpool at the lower end. Today was a little slow. Yesterday was was crazy!
@artmancuso7704 Glad you got a day to get on them. Wish you many more successful days but in reality I would consider it a successful trip! Some years I have only hooked up 1 but somehow the SR keeps pulling me back to try again.

Look for a place called “Fat Nancys” it’s right at the end of the exit as you get off of interstate 81. They have a map of the river that they can give you showing all the public access spots.
