Good tips. I wouldn't over think the salmon bite with scent but if it's the placebo effect go for it. The steelhead and browns are fattening up for the winter. Eggs earlier stoneflies whenever. BTW I see your a Delco guy. That's my main coverage area for work.

That whirlpool spot is dangerous. I was fishing there with one other guy. We were wading up to the hole and he had the gravel give way under his feet and slid into the fast stuff. Fortunately we got him out and no harm done but it was hairy there for a little bit. But it is loaded. Can't count the number of hookups I had there.

Really liked last years videos man! Appreciate all the tips! Unfortunately sales of lead split shot is illegal in NY thats why you see all the tin. We can order out of state on ebay and such but thats the only way for us NYer's to get it. I think that scent in the atlas mikes is Anise oil. Atleast it is in some jars. My favorite scent too by far. But i dont always use it. Seems to ruin flies pretty quick. Gotta keep them seperate anyways. Never tried adding the lead on river. Good idea. I start a wrap or 2 behind the eye and a couple through the body of the fly. The lead thread I use is thin enough it gets burried in the estaz. Hope this helps and Good luck this season!

When you wrap added lead to the Estaz egg do you wrap the hook or the line at the knot? Thanks for the tips.

Great content. Especially the safety tip. I've been fishing the SR for 40 years and have seen too many people not respect the water current or how slippery and flat the bottom is. No fish is worth your life. Safety first. What size hooks are tying your egg patterns on?

@yaaintshit My first choice would be the DSR, but it is hard to get passes this close to the season. Maybe an afternoon pass, but for the most part, daily passes are sold out. I'm not sure if you were here when the town pool was redone, but the wall was torn down, and they made it more accessible for fishing and parking. All the pools along the river are great but it all depends on when you go. Later in the season, the lots fill up, and yes, it can be hard to find a spot to park and fish. Good luck!
