Hell of a good run!!! Congrats on the win! My question is how do you think your training will change now and moving forward to prevent another stress injury?? More strength training? Or do you believe it was more of a diet issue? Would love to hear your thoughts! Happy training!
Hi Payson. I'm going to try nip the niggles/injury in the bud. I will definitely have to do more strength and conditioning and try keep my running to flat surfaces only. It's hard to say if the diet was the issue but I will be more attentive to fueling going forward.
for intervals I wouldn't go by heart rate, just pace in relation to what I am aiming for. I would check afterwards alright to see how it was trending. on the garmin up around the top end of the orange zone, z4, sometimes it could go into red towards the end.

Do you wear a hr monitor in these kind of races john?
I did for this race. I will probably wear it going forward to gather data before I start training for Tokyo
