Josiah Games you can pay 24 grand for an SUV but it’s probably prettt basic no bells and whistles, cloth seats, no sunroof, 4clylinder front wheel drive lol
This was really not a good review. The guy who is doing the summary missed the most important part of the car. This car has start-stop technology. And this is a very bad thing because it makes the Driving Experience not good. Every time the car stops at a stop light or a stop sign. The engine turns off. And then it has to turn back on again when you hit the accelerator. And General Motors has not given their customers the ability to turn this off. They force their customers to use the start-stop technology. This technology also has a wearing effect on the engine and the starter. And so customers who want to keep this car for a long period of time will end up having to replace certain parts when the mileage gets high enough. The driver who did this assessment. Did not talk about this technology at all. This was simply a whitewash type of summary. Because General Motors gave this guy the car for free to use for a certain period of time. So predominantly he had very little criticisms about the automobile. But the start-stop technology. Is absolutely miserable. And. General Motors does not let you turn this technology off.
This is just the beginning of the icing on the cake. Nissan has been selling defective cvts since 2003. It all started with the murano 1st. Now here in 2017 Nissan still can make a decent cvt. 2017 altima and maxima owners have had their tranny replaced 2 and 3 times already. gotaclassaction.com - Nissan named in class action lawsuit over defective transmissions
I really like this downsizing some car manufacturers are doing. The new Equinox and Traverse look amazing! It would be nice if they would downsize their prices...
Ramon Gonzalez totally loving the wireless charging. hopefully soon enough it will become sort of a standard feature accross all brands as eleectric windows did at kne point...
The Fast Lane Car Speaking of features iPhones don't have: Might want to mention Android auto in addition to Apple car play too. Ya know, since most people (over half of the US) outside of your staff don't buy iPhones.
My main question on any car is how long will it last? Will it need a new engine and/or transmission before it hits 150,000 miles? All the electronic gizmos don't mean squat when it's on the side of the road waiting for a tow. Durabililty is key in my book.
Roger Redding , we have a 2018 2,0 liter turbo gasoline engine ? plenty of power for what the car is? But why not also a 2,0 liter turbo diesel also for economy but also enough punch for most people's needs? The equinox is a good all round SUV. In it's class ? But a bit over priced? R.R .
i like the look of this new equinox over the last generation. i'm actually looking forward to purchasing one this summer, when the 2L turbo is released. though $37 thou for a compact SUV that's nowhere near luxury rated, only has front wheel drive, and doesn't even have the most powerful engine available for the model???? it's unrealistic to expect droves of buyers to switch from traditionally better equipped & far more realiable brands at that price.
I have to ask - what the @#$ is the point of tagging cars with years if you're NOT going to stick AT ALL to that year? I mean, my God, in the past it just meant fiscal year, which meant starting in Fall. You're only just starting Spring and already the "next" year is out??? Ludicrous. It's becoming insane. If you're tweeking it before year's end, call it '17A or '17B like we do in the real world of industry.
So the base model starts around $24,000. This one is $37,000? Thats a big swing in price for a compact crossover!!! But when the sales come the dealerships will knock off thousands of dollars of the price tag and make it sound like your getting g a deal.
Nice!! I own a 2011 Chevy Equinox and I am quite happy with it. It has its flaws (noisy cabin, consumes a lot of oil), but what affordable car doesn't. Totally recommend a Chevy Equinox if you are looking for something affordable and of good value.
To me, this class of crossover is a throw-away vehicle. You buy one drive it for 4 maybe 5 years and throw it away. I couldn't see gussying up a vehicle like this to $37,000+. A vehicle like this should be a daily beater and cost you between $25,00 and $30,000 tops.
2018? We're barely 1/4 of the way through 2017. I swear manufacturers are getting worse. Give it a few more months and there will be the 2019 model of a particular car released somewhere!!! Plus being able to direct 1500Nm of torque to the back wheels? Doesn't the Chev representative mean 150Nm? Not even a Pagani Huayra BC has that much torque (1098Nm)! The 1.5 makes 275Nm so 150Nm to the rear axle makes more sense.
need review on the 1.6 diesel. I'm considering the Colorado diesel or one of these. the equinox should be better on fuel mileage and I don't really need a truck. My current cruze diesel averages 50-60mpg on the get and easily 40+ in the city. but it doesn't fair well over rough roads and parking lots I need more clearance.
The price of the diesel is much higher than the 2.0 liter It would take quite some time to make up the fuel difference between the diesel and the gasoline. Plus, if you tend to drive in town a lot, the diesel is not worth it. The diesel shines on the highway.
My wife has a 2010 Chevy Equinox and it's actually pretty nice. It has a very smooth ride and a comfy interior. Only complaint I have is how crappy the speakers are...they were replaced once under warranty and are starting to go again.
WOW what a disappointment this vehicle is. He asks what do we want in a SUV...how about some safety features under $35K(AWD). You can only get a lot of the new safety features....auto cruise with follow distance, forward collision alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, low speed forward auto braking are all only available on the top of Premier starting at $35K+. Heck heated front seats are only an option on the mid trim LT that starts at $29K+. For $29.5K and under I can get all the safety features above plus more on 3 other 2017 SUV competitors. I guess Chevy figures Americans will want to buy American so bad we will blindly buy an Equinox. I am going to be buying a SUV in the next 2 months but it looks like Chevy has took themselves out of consideration...unless they have some MAJOR rebates and other money off deals on the Premier trim.
Brian Lear I honestly wish they kept the vertical brake lights like the previous generation, it would have made the car look a lot better in my opinion
It's 2018 black out that Fuggly dirty yellow color Chevy bow tie emblem. Black it out or Chrome it and the entire front end would look so much better and sell more cars too! All my friends and co workers mostly Asian ppl say this and I agree. They would buy GM bit the Chevy brand emblem throws many ppl away.
Had this on a rental for several weeks, wife loved it, roomy, comfortable,no naturally aspirated engine is crap. Very stupid. At least a 2.4 I4 but not a turbo, we keep cars a long time.
I drove the last generation Equinox it was a complete piece of junk. I'm not expecting much more out of this one. Small SUV's are garbage just go buy a car or a real 4X4.
I have had an 08 equinox sport that put out 264hp stock leather and heated seats it kicks the 2018's ass on every level except for the rear ac, and cameras
most important things for me is reliability and practicality since this type of vehicles are for transporting kids and or things so you need reliability. safety features obviously a plus. i would definately buy this over the mazda crosover , specially if i could afford the diesel option!
was interested in looking at it but at 37k plus I would want the diesel . they always add a lot for diesel for some reason . can see it will be priced to high.
I have a 2007 equinox LT with the 3.4lL v6 thats got 330k on it original engine and transmission with no overhauls on either its only gone through a set of plugs and wires and still gets 24 mpg i wonder if this car could make it as long as the old ones
STFU. No one wants to drive a manual in America, which is why manufacturers are not really making them. It's even more laughable for you to suggest 300 hp...what a joke...
Major improvement over the previous Equinox. Just wish they would have kept offering the 3.6L V6 as an option. Even the Envision doesn't come available with the 3.6L V6. Otherwise, they are great crossovers in the segment.
How is it possible to purchase a small SUV for 37k when a large or mid size is about 40? The creature comforts are terrific, but it's getting ridiculous.
I just purchased a 2018 Chevy Equinox FWD 2.0 Liter Turbo. It accelerates well on the highway and drives smooth, I think. Good turn radius in tight spaces and I love the backup cam system. How does this Equinox drive in winter conditions?
Hey TFL, I have a Moto Z Droid w/case and my cell didn't fit between the grooves for the wireless charger. * Note: my phone doesn't have wireless charging without add-on.

Hammer Smith no, I want them to look modern, not they didn't come out of GM's 90s parts bin. It's the same issue I have with the Cadillac ATS ones, they look horrible.
Hammer Smith go look at the new CRV, that's what a modern gauge cluster looks like. Even the CRV's base model LX cluster (which I actually prefer over the higher trim one) looks miles better than this.
Cost of new vehicles are out of control.....
jchast1980 My mom had a 2010 Equinox and she paid 24k for it.
Karo French ... you can't pay 24 grand for an SUV maybe you got mixed up with the Camaro
ILikeM00fins 000 Do you think Im lying about the price? She has a Hyandai Santa Fe now 2015 and paid 25k for that. Thats what prices are where I live.
Josiah Games you can pay 24 grand for an SUV but it’s probably prettt basic no bells and whistles, cloth seats, no sunroof, 4clylinder front wheel drive lol
$37-39K for the premier edition the one in this video which is literally overpriced for what it offers
which suv are the best for family..???
I'll be honest, the looks are improved. Just a bit overpriced. Oh wait fully loaded primer? Ok nvm
The only thing that looks good to me are the wheels.

The Rouge is the best one in this segment. Period.
Maddog8148 not with those defective garbage cvt transmissions.
Not sure what you mean if defective. I drove to CVTs for over 200k miles each with zero problems.
This is just the beginning of the icing on the cake. Nissan has been selling defective cvts since 2003. It all started with the murano 1st. it drives like a V6. so much torque at low end. i love GM all the way...
Not sure why so many people who don't care for this car wast there time watching the video.....
DolPhan 4Life it’s got to be employees of the competitors trolling.
I have the 16LTZ and I love it
"and theres a wireless charger down there" puts iphone in it 😂😂😂😂😂
+Ramon Gonzalez We all have wishful thinking.
Ramon Gonzalez
totally loving the wireless charging. hopefully soon enough it will become sort of a standard feature accross all brands as eleectric windows did at kne point...
The Fast Lane Car Speaking of features iPhones don't have: Might want to mention Android auto in addition to Apple car play too. Ya know, since most people (over half of the US) outside of your staff don't buy iPhones.
Actually IPhones are more popular than any other phone in the world... android only sells more cause they offer cheap flip phones for old folks
SummerWest VEVO 'Fraid not. But notice I said US as well. 😉
Looks like a minivan from behind.
William Palmer that's what I noticed right off the bat lol
William Palmer lol a agree
i never liked how this vehicle looked
this is the first and last time ill go thru a comment section for a vehicle review, so cancer
My main question on any car is how long will it last? Will it need a new engine and/or transmission before it hits 150,000 miles? All the electronic gizmos don't mean squat when it's on the side of the road waiting for a tow. Durabililty is key in my book.

I know you were given a gasoline powered engine model to review, but I would have liked to see the diesel powertrain reviewed by you guys. Oh well.
I guess the new model is a success. In April, 2019 this is the best selling small SUV. Chevy hit a home run with the customers.
i like the look of this new equinox over the last generation. i'm actually looking forward to purchasing one this summer, when the 2L turbo is released. though $37 thou for a compact SUV that's nowhere near luxury rated, only has front wheel drive, and doesn't even have the most powerful engine available for the model???? it's unrealistic to expect droves of buyers to switch from traditionally better equipped & far more realiable brands at that price.
I'll get the diesel version
Nice choice!
I heard that supposed to get about 39 miles a gallon
holy hell $37k for an Equinox even if it's fully loaded. You can get a lot more power and luxury for that. That said, it kinda makes sense at $24k.
Even though it's "improved" I wouldn't be surprised to see it at Hertz or Avis car rental
I have to ask - what the @#$ is the point of tagging cars with years if you're NOT going to stick AT ALL to that year? Man these comments are dumb! It's easy. Don't like Chevy MOVE ON.
Anyone else get the Ford Escape vs Chevy Equinox ad? Lol
MemeBrick64 😂😂😂 i did 😂😂😂
MemeBrick64 yep
the escape needs a redesign , the interior bothers me
It should be against the edge not the escape
Dreysen Lindgren the escape and equinox are both priced at 23K. Ford even made a video comparing the escape to the equinox. You’re wrong.

Then the Subaru Forester appeared and tried to steal the show.
The Canadians build one hell of a car!
Looks better and fresh. Need better engine. Cost are getting high where ppl will look else where
why is the 2.0 ecotec trubo going down in power? it was to 260hp and a factory tune to 300 hp
2018? We're barely 1/4 of the way through 2017. I swear manufacturers are getting worse. Give it a few more months and there will be the 2019 model of a particular car released somewhere!!!

69% oil life. hehe
If I'm going to go to this from my 2015 Ford Focus ecoboost, I want it with the Diesel engine and all wheel drive.
wow, the vehicle is ugly. the GMC Terrain in the Denali trim is way better looking.
Who will buy this car? Nothing special for 37 grand....
It's all about the used market for this vehicle. I can get a 2018 LT with 1LT under 20k miles for about 20k. Nice deal.
need review on the 1.6 diesel. I'm considering the Colorado diesel or one of these. the equinox should be better on fuel mileage and I don't really need a truck.

Wow, way to go Chevy! The fuel door is finally back on the drivers side, what a novel concept! Is there rear control A/C?
knock it all you want, there is something inherently attractive about how unattractive it is. Tell me I'm wrong.
Brian Lear I honestly wish they kept the vertical brake lights like the previous generation, it would have made the car look a lot better in my opinion

never again...my 2013 is very problematic
I drove the last generation Equinox it was a complete piece of junk. I'm not expecting much more out of this one. Small SUV's are garbage just go buy a car or a real 4X4.
I took a test drive and it was surprising nice; better than the RAV4, but not as nice as the CRV.
I know this a old video but...
You can swap the 7" screen for the 8"???
Thanks!!!
I have had an 08 equinox sport that put out 264hp stock leather and heated seats it kicks the 2018's ass on every level except for the rear ac, and cameras
Yeah but the 2.0T *_NEEDS_* 93 octane for that performance.
I drive a 2008 Equinox LS V6 and I don't see myself in a 4 cylinder car. I only paid $7,000 in 2014./
i dont understand why this car is so much more than the cr-v
Forester, period. Unless you like junk. I've test driven both.
most important things for me is reliability and practicality since this type of vehicles are for transporting kids and or things so you need reliability. safety features obviously a plus. i would definately buy this over the mazda crosover , specially if i could afford the diesel option!
People are saying that prices are getting too high, but the price of this won't change by more than $1000 until its next generation.
STOP LETTING ANDRE DO THESE REVIEWS!!! PLEASE BRING BACK ROMAN AND NATHAN!!!
SummerWest VEVO why? you don't like Andre?
SummerWest VEVO whats wrong with andre?
Really dislike GMs new center console style, the vents curving around the entertainment screen are so ugly
was interested in looking at it but at 37k plus I would want the diesel . they always add a lot for diesel for some reason . can see it will be priced to high.
680ecks remember you don't pay MSRP so as they roll out and there's incentives it will go down quite a bit
I hate the back looks like a van!
This is the best Crossover in its Class but il go with the 2.0 Turbo
Grossly underpowered!
Do you have one?
I have a 2007 equinox LT with the 3.4lL v6 thats got 330k on it original engine and transmission with no overhauls on either its only gone through a set of plugs and wires and still gets 24 mpg i wonder if this car could make it as long as the old ones
no
ooowowowowowowowowow it has diesel....? Chevy is getting manly
I heard that supposed to get about 39 miles a gallon
they lowered it by few inchs 100lbs from each corner
so much for being an American Car since this one is made in canada and the trans being from mexico
Clean the inside it is disgusting and inside finish awful no touch no thank you and Diesel
chevy edge? typical chevy
WAAAAAY to much for a suv like that!
leasing a 2LT with 2.0T in Storm Blue Metallic. happy with my decision. it's nice for me and my family.
you lost me at chevy flew me out here.... No impartial review here.
i have wireless charger in mine doesnt work for some reason
How much oil will/can it burn?
danlatu its a combustion engine sooooo as much as you let it pretty much
I think the outgoing model looks better. This one kind of just blends in with the Rav4 and CRV
1mlb704 no way the old was hideous!
Too expensive imagine how much the diesel might cost?? Maybe over $40,000 too pricey
build one on their site and then you'll find out
that muffler design is hideous!
Does this need premium furl
I wonder the crash rating is!!!
+Ru Su It's not rated yet, but Chevy improved the body structure to meet or exceed all latest crash standards.
Needs a 300 hp V6 and a 5 speed manual.
STFU. No one wants to drive a manual in America, which is why manufacturers are not really making them. It's even more laughable for you to suggest 300 hp...what a joke...
The GMC one looks 100 times better!
... are trying to say the Terrain?? lol
wow this looks good
I drive my 2010 Equinox be and I'm fine with it but a wireless charger would be nice
Major improvement over the previous Equinox. Just wish they would have kept offering the 3.6L V6 as an option. Even the Envision doesn't come available with the 3.6L V6. Otherwise, they are great crossovers in the segment.
I get something else not for me.
Styling is good.
All petrol engines 1-4 turbochargers intercooler in all brands : over 100 l/100km, easy damage on test.
from
all brands database
End report.
Hey TFL, I have a Moto Z Droid w/case and my cell didn't fit between the grooves for the wireless charger.
* Note: my phone doesn't have wireless charging without add-on.
this definitely beats the competition when it comes to tech and interior. CRV is just as expensive and doesn't offer half the stuff inside. Toyota doesn't even get a look imo. But they are known to be very reliable brands and that's where they win. Plus in my area most of those who purchase are buying base model of those cars so they are shopping for the gadgets.
Almost bought one today. Took for a second test drive. Glad I did. The SATs shrunk from the 2013 equinox. That's a deal breaker for me. I'll keep my 2013.
It's *almost* a damn minivan. look at the shape. It's a minivan with less useful doors.
just today I was thinkong what happened to equinox,is there any new model?
I love Chevy so much.
Not having a visible exhaust pipe wierds me out for some reason... remind me of a loaf of bread
Don't like rear
I think it looks good. I saw one today at the dealership getting my Colorado serviced and it looks better in person.
Why does GM use those ugly speedometer gauges in their cars??? They're ugly in the Malibu, Camaro and Colorado
I guess I don't agree. They're fine.
aag318504 yea gm needs go go with an all digital led display for the instrument cluster
JaySto1 All digital sucks, give me a bunch of nice gauges!
Small SUV mixed with a station wagon... that's just what I see.
Looks old already. Now all chevys have the same tail light design?
Nice commercial.
Swear i heard him say "8 track system back here" nearly died laughing
