Chevrolet is going to great lengths to reduce the weight of its new vehicles, and the 2018 Equinox is the latest model to emerge from the crash-diet regimen. Shorter in length and height, the new Equinox is as much as 400 pounds lighter than before. That allowed Chevrolet to ditch the dated 2.4-liter base engine and 3.6-liter V6 in favor of thrifty new turbo mills.
Cargo space has suffered as a result of downsizing, and we’re still split on whether or not we like the sharper new sheetmetal on this Equinox. But improved fuel economy, a more stylish interior, and new equipment help the Chevy present a strong argument in an increasingly competitive class of crossovers.

I just purchased one, is it still pretty reliable?
I just bought to the new 18 Equinox, it is awesome. It is dead quiet inside the interior and doesn't sound like a dying cat when you step on the accelerator.

opinion: 24 mpg in the city? Best I ever got being very conservative in my driving was 18.5 mpg on the 1.5 engine.
Still better than my 2005 mercury sable wagon that got 11mph
I think that the underfloor storage bin could be pretty useful with organizing grocery bags, to keep them from rolling around. So while it may have less cargo space, what it has seems somewhat more useful than a CUV with just a large floor.

We use ours for groceries or to keep the wine bottle from rolling around too,in our Buick Envision.

That side rear window is odd. Seems backwards. Possibly a polarizing look along with that floating roofline ,change for the sake of change?

Tyler Copeland they are adjusting their lineup. I suspect we'll see another CUV introduced above the Equinox but below the Traverse (which has become larger).
The new 2018 Equinox has front passenger folding seat for segment best 81 cu ft.
To me, was better looking too!

I HAVE a 2018 LS , and a 2019 LT! The LT runs 160mph! Lots of bells and whistles! RUNS FAST & MOVE like a WOMAN! Cheers!
base model Acura RDX is same price, has most of the features as standard and drives much better. chevy needs to learn to price their shit properly
The Equinox is $8,000 MSRP for the 2.0T. The RDX both have similar performance according to Motor Trend but the Equinox 2.0T AND with 9-speed should see better than our 2016 Envision 2.0T 32.5 mpg with 6-speeds.
Equinox will always be 5000 to 15000 dollars less than msrp thoughh
@@me-it9jn that's true. An equinox at 34,500 will usually sell for $28k and has a lot of features including panoramic sunroof and navigation.

Phrancis5 oh yeah! But crv is very noisy from tires,wind and other cars passing,I like the crv but I think honda needs to do something with this important issues,American cars probably less reliables,but the comfort on chevy s and dodges are really good.

Best 12 month launch is the 2018 Equinox according to Truedelta. Sales back it up with best in segment, even selling more than CR-V and RAV4 for 2018.

The 2018 has the best initial quality in the segment for the first 12 months according to Trudelta.
You do know that every brand out there has owners gripping about it. Just go to an owners forum for Toyota, Ford, Hyundai, etc.
