As a foreigner who has lived in Slovakia for around 10 years I have this to say. Slovaks are easily swayed since the Rus-Ukr war has caused energy prices to be unbearable. The salaries are the same before pri-war but with the current inflations families cant keep up with economy. This has always been a recipe for for a populist to be voted in since they promise quick fix solutions which off course never happens. The man tipped to win was a PM before, for a good time, he didnt change anything,but you know people forget when they were crying about his poor leadership. Lastly Slovaks want a voice at the EU,offcourse with Even a voice,I dont see anything changing unless the EU as a whole find solutions to the energy problem.
Slovaks are also nostalgic for communist times compared to Czechs. Slovakia has remained poor compared to Czechia after Czechoslovakia and communism fell.

Well, it was mostly Czechia that was being exploited by the ZSSR, while Slovakia was leeching off Czechia's industry and economy. There's a reason there was a Prague spring but not Bratislava spring.
Slovakia has remained poor after communism and Czechoslovakia fell, unlike Czechia, which prospered.

Slovakia's GDP is ranked 59th in the world. like I said it's trivial, won't affect the outcome of the war. The bigger problem is if the USA pulls support for Ukraine the no 1 GDP in the world.

No, that's not what I am saying. All aid to Ukraine is needed but the more serious problem is if the USA does not give Ukraine the serious military weapons to push back the Russians or force them to negotiate for peace. I'm a Canadian and even Canada a G7 country contribution is trivial and not going to end the war.
