This demonstration shows how to free motion quilt realistic looking oak leaves.
Rather than show a quilt in the making, this sample is stitched on two layers of thermal curtain lining, with the fluffy sides placed together. This way I could work on a small piece and not have excess fabric in the way of the camera.
The machine being used is a 1945 Singer 15K treadle.

Hi Lizzie! Great video. So helpful! I just brought home a 15-91 two days ago and am readying for FMQ. Very excited!

Beautiful, I love it, thanks for demo. I haven't made many quilts but I've always tied them. I made my daughter a king size friendship quilt. I only have the blocks done so far. I'm going to try to quilt it on my 66 Singer treadle in 4 sections. I have no idea what quilting design to use. I thought maybe just stitch in the ditch? It's for their 10 yr. Anniversary and so far it looks good! Do you have any thoughts ? Thank u so much.

Hello TMT, good luck with quilting on your treadle. Just don't try free motion quilting on a Singer 66 because I can assure you it will end in tears.lizzielenard-vintagesewing.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/the-best-vintage-machine-for-free.html
