5:04-About Gambit’s design, he’s actually a Cajun thief raised by the Thieves Guild in Louisiana. In that one episode where Gambit goes back to his home bayou, the other Thieves who adopted him, along with his foster brother were all wearing the same costume (trench coats) Gambit is wearing. Gambit’s design is to make him look like a scoundrel, some who can’t be trusted due to his criminal background, womanizing antics and trouble making behavior. Although I would point out that the rival guild, the Assassin’s Guild don’t look like Assassins but more like sci fi bounty hunters. I’d always imagined an assassin should wear hoods that cover their face, robes or capes that make them blend in with the crowd and leather gloves and boots to help them climb around in buildings, just like the ones in Assassin’s Creed.
Yeah, back when the website Channel Awesome (TGWTG) actually _was_ awesome, they had all kinds of crazy talent. Not sure why he was "Distressed Watcher" instead of Amazing Atheist, but TJ gained a lot of fandom there. Jontron also basically got his start there. Back in 2010, UA-cam wasn't everything. People actually went to websites like TGWTG, Cinemassacre, Screw Attack, and The Spoony Experiment for their videos.
morph didnt die in that first episode. he came back a few seasons later and tried to take down the xmen thinking that they left him to die. he was angry and upset, but they told him that they thought he was dead, but were happy to see him alive. he believed them and decided to move on with his life, but no longer an xman. he appears in a few other episodes too throughout the show :p
I’m calling from the year 2024 where marvel rebooted the original series and it’s very mature in the best ways and is just as good as the original series. X-men 97 is great!!!!
I literally just started watching this because I really got into Deadpool. I have to know why the ACTUAL FUCK Professor X had a barely trained thirteen year old kid babysit a grown-ass war criminal when he could’ve just asked Gambit to do it.
Rewatching this review for X-Men: ‘97. 😊 7:21 He can strike this pose… which I’m comedically going to play back and forth right now… AND HE’S STILL FUCKING BADASS! XD 15:03 PLEASE DON’T SHOW THIS IN THE COMMERICAL OF THE SHOW!!! HEY… I SEE MY HOUSE FROM HERE! 16:16 I heard X-Men: ‘97 did have a callback to this scene. XD 17:25 Gotta love the air-humping Sentinels. XD
I didn't see a lot of X-Men growing up, but I did see enough of it. I really *loved Rogue & Gambit.* I liked Jubilee's sparkle effects on her powers & her subtle romanticism w/ sexy Gambit. Wolverine was badass ✨👍
Rogue? Don't worry Critic, we all have one of those. My is Raven, from the Teen Titans cartoon. Oh Raven, i face hell and beyond for you my Dark Angel!!! Just, leave futas away from me...
Ranking every 90s marvel cartoon worst to best: Doom patrol Avengers United they stand Spider man unlimited Fantastic four The Incredible Hulk Iron man Spider man X Men
About Jubilee, she did get a redeeming badass by having locked up Apocalypse in one of the finale. Also even more confusing on Mutants and Sentinels since the show also have Superheroes like Ms. Marvel (the white lady) and even the Avengers (granted that they only appeared in a bad future episode but it's way better than AvX comic which they attacked children and Cyclops got the short end despite Scarlet Witch MURDERING HER BEST FRIENDS AND DEPOWERED THE MUTANTS IN HOUSE OF M.)
I would also keep in mind she's about thirteen fourteen years old and just discovering her powers meaning she hasn't quite learned to control them yet. See X Men Evolution to see what the rest of the group, except Storm and Wolverine, was like learning how to use their powers. I think in the first episode Cyclops blows something up.
7:14 - OMG, not only NC predicts the plot of Transformers: The Last Knight correctly, he also predicts last year's Disney - Fox merger like a true Criswell!
Okay but since when has sending the police out to capture or detain someone with magical powers ever worked out? Also, is there a name for the black thing that Gambit wears around his face? I've seen it on other characters in other things. It's not a ski-mask, it's not a cowl, and it's not a skull cap. Is there a damned name for that thing!?
Yeah the cops always get pissy that the Superheroes are doing their job and such but every time they go after a guy with powers it ends in either pain or death
Fun fact; the same guy who made the theme for X-Men TAS (Ron Arthur "The Mighty RAW" Wasserman) also made the theme songs for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers through to Power Rangers Wild Force. This is because both aired on FOX Kids and Wasserman was employed by the while channel and not just Saban.

0:50 is that TJ?.........0_0
+Doopliss Yes, he was "The distressed Watcher" at some point at which he was on the Critics site or something.
Tobias Hagström Ahh
He watch D&D movie, he lost his faith.
5:06 I thought for a second that this woman was naked. Why would they paint her top the same color as her skin?
Wait a minute; Batman tied to a mattress? Wouldn't that be pretty easy to get out of?
He just adobted the darkness. I was borned in it.
I’m calling from the year 2024 where marvel rebooted the original series and it’s very mature in the best ways and is just as good as the original series. X-men 97 is great!!!!
Waiting for the Doug commentary about X-Men 97
NC should do a Top 11 X-Men: The Animated Series Episodes.
I literally just started watching this because I really got into Deadpool. I have to know why the ACTUAL FUCK Professor X had a barely trained thirteen year old kid babysit a grown-ass war criminal when he could’ve just asked Gambit to do it.
Don't mind me guys, I'm here again after the X-Men '97.
3:58 perfectly cut scream
14:06 Where Power Rangers got the title!!
Rewatching this review for X-Men: ‘97. 😊
7:21 He can strike this pose… which I’m comedically going to play back and forth right now… AND HE’S STILL FUCKING BADASS! XD
15:03 PLEASE DON’T SHOW THIS IN THE COMMERICAL OF THE SHOW!!! HEY… I SEE MY HOUSE FROM HERE!
16:16 I heard X-Men: ‘97 did have a callback to this scene. XD
17:25 Gotta love the air-humping Sentinels. XD
NANANANANANNAA WOLVERINEE!
I didn't see a lot of X-Men growing up, but I did see enough of it. I really *loved Rogue & Gambit.* I liked Jubilee's sparkle effects on her powers & her subtle romanticism w/ sexy Gambit. Wolverine was badass ✨👍
ai i glad i am not the only one
The first few episodes as seen in this video are good, but this show got so much better as soon as Magneto came into the picture.
Phoenix Saga - enough said!!
Facts
3:45 - One of your fucking robots just broke in and destroyed my mall!!! Jesus Christ the property damage is unbelievable!!!
What was the name of the music critic used for wolverine? 6:54
Legacy by Gone Jackels
@1heKing Been waiting so long for that answer! Thanks dude!
New revival season coming in march 20
And so far... damn it's good! Even kept the intro true to the original.
07:22 Probably why I love Wolverine.
Actually, Morph was a real character from the late 70's...
"He's still fucking badass"... Don't you mean "He's still fucking dat ass"....
I'll just show myself out...
I love how the NC used "Legacy" by The Gone Jackals when he introduced Wolverine. That song is freaking awesome!
Ah-HAHAHAHA! Dark Rob scene was freaking awesome! 😂😂😂
6:25 gotta admire how Prof. X telepathically tracks Jubilee down - beside the fact that she is in the doorway beside them xD what a waste of telepathy
Rogue? Don't worry Critic, we all have one of those.
My is Raven, from the Teen Titans cartoon.
Oh Raven, i face hell and beyond for you my Dark Angel!!!
Just, leave futas away from me...
AZIRATH METRIONUS ZINTHOS!!!!
Thiago Tazo raven is my favorite teen Titan too
Thiago Tazo Mine was Danny Phantom, Zuko, or Robin from Teen Titans.
Kim Possible
Thiago Tazo Sebastian from Black Butler
I really think this series had ALOT to do with the X-Men's popularity in the 90s and a huge contributor to what would be the awesome X-Men and X2.
Ranking every 90s marvel cartoon worst to best:
Doom patrol
Avengers United they stand
Spider man unlimited
Fantastic four
The Incredible Hulk
Iron man
Spider man
X Men
10:07 To be fair It's because she hasn't yet learned how to control her powers so some moments their stronger and other they are weaker
0:49
it's TJ
I know AA is amazing
No, that's garbage
+John Titor "You're garbage, TJ! You're Garbage!"-Drunken Peasants podcast, the greatest podcast there is
*garbage
+SOOSSITTAJA3000 [FIN] Smoke pan everyday
6:53 Sweet! Legacy from the Full Throttle game!
I loved this show with all my heart and soul as a kid! 😍
4:54 What I tell myself about Kaldur'ahm in YJ. Darn animators giving us too high of expectations😭
Wait a minute...
2:54
Subject: Jubilee
Name: Jubilation Lee
JUBILATION? D-dang.
🎵 “X-MEN is a kickass show, now you know!” 🎵
Was Jubilee adopted? Cause not only do neither of her parents have the same hair color, but they aren't even Asian.
balgus82 she was
Jubilee's Asian?
@@GeminiOxStar0603 In the comics Yes her real name was I kid you not...JUBILATION Lee
+powerist Yeah....weird!!!!
13:56 - 14:13 sounded just like a beavis and butthead bit.
11:27 best recap ever!
"Batman was tied to a mattress." Lol what the fuck?!? xD
The 60's show was very campy.
I wonder how Critic feels about Evolution Rouge
11:44 Batman was tied to a mattress. XD
You know using giant robots to find mutants instead of using for military porpuses is weird
I've watched this cartoon hundred times, but just now I've noticed that Gambit has a satan star on his blue whatever it is 7:55
Ahhh, Jubulie, the April O' Neal of X Men. Oh and X men is a cartoon version of Heroes.
I'm a woman and when we had a VCR, I was the ONLY one in the house who could set the clock.... And program it....
congrats! you're one in a million!
+Charles McKenna Most men cant fix that either.
ThatOneGuy I know I sure couldn't. However I was the only one in the house who knew how to get a Nintendo game to start. Had it down pat
Charles McKenna Yes you knew exactly the right knife to sacrifice the infant to....
***** what the hell?
the X-Men TAS was my aunt's fave cartoon, and i was a fan myself, Wolverine is my fave character, followed up by Gambit.
I don't know why, but Dark Rob cracks me up every time.
Professor X sees the clip at 4:25 and says "He seems familiar. Perhaps, we've met in another incarnation?".
Doug and Rob are related?! I would've never gussed.......
Guessed*
+Mohammad Al-Zawahreh Brothers :D
dwarf365 Wow.
Rob walker , Doug Walker
*5:54* oh hey someone finally shows realism about the president
2:39 most accurate description! I laughed so hard after hearing this one xD
Man I wish the X Men were in the MCU! Oh wait, they are joining! Yeah didn’t you heard Disney is buying Fox as well as the Fantastic 4, X Men and DeadPooL.
