Spot on Muzza, We are arriving Saturday, I've done our E-Visa and Tourism levy online ( easy ) and both get attached electronically to your passport.
Surely it would be smarter just including the levy with the visa on thier end. I have no idea why they would make it a separate thing

You are correct Murray, passport numbers that do not have a tourist tax certificate number aligned will have restrictions on their passport. They are accepting Australian Dollars and do have eftpos at the booth.
I hope this is so! I’ve tried applying online and nothing seems to work. Not even getting e-visa beforehand!! Gotta love this digital age where nothing works as it should, so frustrating!!!!!

Great info, thank you. I have tried endlessly to pay this tax on line but it’s not working. Happy there’s a desk in order to pay as l have tons of IDR so won’t have a problem.
I did hear that there will be tourist tax police on patrol , checking paper work, so carry one with your of have a snapshot on your phone . It happen to a friend in Sanur and Bali Zoo. The love Bali site was crashing big time. I have finally got my tourist tax . The visa VOA, I never got a email, lucky I snap shot the screen . So beware. This was last week 29 th March .
This is a good reminder.....dont expect everything to work....let alone the way we are used to.
Their country, their rules......we really need to be thankfull and accept that the government will announce new laws and regulations and people need time to get up to speed with it.
Should also note that when new regulations are announced the government does listen to the feedback from the people.....
They then go about refining it to better suit Balis unique circumstances....and I believe they do adjust it to get it right for everyone.
It can just take a little time.
Recall when I first starting to come to Bali 2010 ish. You had to pay a exit tax of 150 000IDR....15 BUCKS
then.
I dont think it too much to ask at all.....look what you get to have and do when you get there......
Now that it is showing to really be going to help BALI cope with the weight of what it is given to do....

the staff at the airport very helpful. considering how much people were there it was a rather quick affair to claim your luggage, pay visa and enter bali. i am not mentioning the new tourist tax because i never saw it nor i was requested to pay it. i have just passed it by on mi way out of the airport. i guess it takes time to fully implement new ideas.
Wow that train system looks awesome. However thats going to affect the transport drivers incomes a fair bit surely?

Arrived in Bali yesterday on the Jetstar Darwin flight...
My visa, tourist tax, customs declaration were all done online in advance.
Upon arrival in Immigration the only question they asked was about the visa..when I said 'yes' I was sent directly to the new automatic passport gates..
Passport scanned, got my suitcase, straight through customs...10 minutes maximum.
Nothing was said about tourist tax , I don't know if the new electronic gates have it registered but nothing was said.
May I ask how the queue was like to VoA, instead of E-VoA, at the airport. I am wondering whether I can just get the VoA at the airport upon my arrival if the line is not long. Thanks.

good video. I still think it’s a great place to travel to and a $15. 00 aud tax charge isn’t too much to worry anyone going to Bali. Australians love Bali just like i do and they will keep coming back in droves

so if you flew say from singapore direct to lombok ,stay a fews then fly domestic to bali for a few days, then say onto surabaya then back to bali to fly back to your own country ,how does this tax affect you if flying domestic ? being that the point of entry was lombok where this tourism tax is not in place ,its only for bali this tourist tax ,,love to find out the real answer cheers muzza ,,from Browny
As it is not a federal tax I doubt it can be used to prevent entry as a visa is a federal permit from a higher authority.. just thinking out loud..
Do they even have the departure egates working yet? Seems like all talk. And extending your evisa hahaha good luck with that.

@@MurrayWilkinson1 well i made a visa run and they do have departure autogates running. I could not get evisa back to back and the extension took almost three weeks and thats after i had to send them multiple emails asking what is taking so long. The. When i returned i got a” e-visa on arrival “ at the airport and they rudely told me i could use the auto gates but when i tried to use the autogates it told me to see an immigration officer on the person gates, so no didnt work.
Muzza, on a scale of 1-10 how would you rate Bali in terms of theft danger? I understand that some places might be dodgier than others, but if you can let me know as per your personal experience, like the number that comes to your mind when you read this question.

Good question and the answer might surprise you.
Overall your chance of being robbed is very low, especially if you don't go nightclubbing or wandering the streets alone at night. Having said that I think there is a HUGE portion of the travelling public that have experienced small scale scams and non violent financial loss. I make my videos to protect the many naive tourists from being taken advantage of and prevent the risk of being their next victim.

In March this year I paid 1million rupia for 2 of us. On arrival. My son paid half that in August for himself. Is your info for Aussies only?
Yes there is a rp500k or $50 aud visa fee per person at the moment. There is also a $15 aud Bali tourist levy that is supposed to be paid on arrival or before you arrive

My understanding is that the VOA for Australians has been removed, IE, visa free entry into Bali, but the 150,000 IDR has been introduced. I think…..
They were still charging for.it 2 days ago
I've just been and still had to pay $50 Aud per person on arrival

I arrived back a week ago and as Muzza shared, there is no where to pay.
I didn’t even see signage or advised when checking in… the people who you pay the $50AUD to looked at me strange, when I asked where to pay the additional $15
turn off your VPN if you are using one
I down loaded the Love Bali App and was able to pay for fee that way
How come in Seminyak when you go to pay for your meal and drinks they add a tax on top??

Hey mate, I arrived last week. I paid for me and my family's visa online and tourist tax online. They wouldn't let us use the E-Visa because we had kids so we had to line up and when we were leaving the airport no one asked us to pay the tax or even mentioned the anything. I went to them and showed them my paperwork. I was wondering why they won't asking anyone for there tourist tax.. Thanks for the info.

AND BALI NEEDS COMPENSATION AND IF THEY USE IT TO IMPROVE OR RATHER PROTECT AND RE-ESTABLISH SOME BALANCE FOR ALL CONCERNED.

Yes if you want to, or can pay VOA (visa on arrival). They take IDR, card or Australian dollars - from my experience. Flew into Bali 28/Feb/2024

Tourist tax is easy...but the VOA is really difficult! It takes you around and around and does not get to the payment page.

I just tried to pay it and got a message that it cannot be processed.
The eVisa(not the new tax) info doesn’t state anywhere how long they are for. Can only assume it is for 30 days as per the old visa on arrival. No where does it say how to extend it ( used to be able to extend for total of 60 days). Going in next few weeks for 53 days. Anyone know what to do?

Muzz, landed in Jakarta on 8/02/24 then to lombok, flew from lombok to bali on the 16/02/24 and arrived at the domestic terminal in bali and nobody in terinmal to accept the tourist tax.
True! we arrived on the 18.2 and was told in the airport it was being implemented yet. Can I still pay it online once we are in?
Yes you can pay it after you arrive or before you keave

Spent a week on Bali this january. No tourist tax but we had to pay for the visa and custom declaration. Feels like they are trying to make up for dwindling tourist numbers. I will never go back though. The whole island feels like a tourist trap. Never seen so much dirt and crap in my life. Thailand feels like a prestine paradise in comparison. And I got the ”Bali stomach”…

Can you pay the tourist tax at the police station. When you arrive.. regester in the Provence of Police station where I ,stay, not hotel. But I rent house in Bali

@@MurrayWilkinson1 when i stay in Bali I rent a house. Or flat . And regester in at the police station in the Provence. It's the Law in Bali to register. Do thay take tourist tax.?? But let me you said somewhere in airport there must be a regester.
You can pay it online at www.balilove.baliprov.go.id or at the airport outside the arrivals area (near the drivers pickup)

Lived in Bali for a year. Stayed up north down south and let me tell you. It is a shithole. It's filthy and disgusting. It's like going on holiday in a trash dump. Will never go back. Waste of money. Food is terrible and everything is cooked in oil. Some amazing places buy its a huge trash heap. Rather go to Lombok. Lived there for 6 months and it is clean.

@gumbie007gumbie007 Before covid bali was busy, no visa. After covid $50 visa back again. I was in Bali oct/Nov last year hardly any tourists, the drivers and restaurants were really struggling. A balinese friend who owns a restaurant in benoa told me that xmas just gone was the worst he has experienced (outside of covid).So the way to attract tourists is for them to introduce a new tax? The locals are going to struggle again. I'm retired so the tax to me isn't a problem, to families who like to go to Bali it is a problem, along with the locals whose lively hood depend on tourists. Get rid of all entry taxes and make it affordable again. (On the flight to and from Bali my flights wre lucky to be 1/4 full.
True actually. I've been over 6 times since they dropped the bs Covid insurance requirements, and even now, March 2024, it's still relatively dead quiet( which I prefer, but it's a struggle for a lot of Balinese people)
