My tips: its likely your cheap flight is gonna get in at 10pm...so book one night in a hotel that's a walk from the airport that has 24 hour service...the 24 hour check-in is really important. you can walk north thru the airport around some streets and pop out at the south side of the strip. look on google maps, there's a big fence so make sure you on google maps you can get to your hotel. avoid the taxis on entry it ruins the experience, the crush, the getting overcharged. from that one night overnight hotel, pre arrange a driver to pick you up at 8am. so you don't unpack at that first hotel its just, walk in, go to sleep, don't unpack your bag. that driver will take you to your next hotel somewhere out of town, to the ferry to then go stay on nasu lembongan, or, a whole day trip with sightseeing stops (you can stop off for selfies at sites at about three or four places en route and uve got to shout your driver lunch) to the NW tip and do menjangan island snorkeling trip...that will be your 2nd hotel or homestay and stay there for four or five days....arrange a driver back to Kuta and stay in a place for three or four days...do your tourist shopping - get a taxi to the airport and get out. Get your money from AusPost before you go...they do currency transfers - get it before you land...do as much as you can prepaid, or on VISA... i preplanned, prebooked, prepaid everything and confirmed everything via email (it takes them two or three days to reply to english emails) and didn't need to speak to anyone.
We always use a driver and we use the same driver every time and he has become a family friend, his local knowledge is worth the money and some places he can even get us discount. We will often just ask him to take us somewhere to eat and somewhere different and he never disappoints, we even had lunch in a plane suspended in the air on stilts, our kids loved it. we pay $50 a day for him.
Any details on the driver or suggested company name would be greatly appreciated. I’ve been to Bali 5-6 times but that was 30 yrs ago. I’m going back in May 2025 and will be exploring alone for a week. Having a trusted driver would be great. Thanks.
Can you advise please how to find the $100/night stay if on the travel websites most places start at $150. Where to book those “cheap””hotel stays? Thanks in advance
Mate this video was great! solid advise. The family and I will be taking our first trip to Bali in 5 days, great job on the content and the curating the experience...
I visited Bali I think about maybe 🤔 7 yrs ago, probably things changed, in total visited Bali 4 times, the first 2 times was in Nusa Dua , the transport was expensive, Kuta - twice. I paid for my accommodation $18 per night & second time the same hotel $20 it was clean, enjoyably, the staff was great , all walls & floor was tiled , air conditioning too, little tv , little cute swimming pool and in the centre and so many temple around with beautiful Bali style music 👍👍👍❤
I'm a "Bali Virgin" 🥳 who'da thought at my age. After watching I wondered if a Virgin like me could find a place to take scooter lessons in Bali. If so, I would love some advice or maybe reviews of local businesses ✌🏽
Thanks Muzza, visiting Bali for the first time end of July and staying in Kuta you've just answered so many questions and the tour was amazing. I'm buzzin now. Ill keep my eye open for you fella. Much luv
Thanks Muzza. Heading over to Bali for the first time in end of September for a week with my daughter. Looking forward to trip. We are staying in Seminyak.
Hey. Looking to your movies is fun and I find some new things for me to go to. I'm living in Sanur, not far from your house. Just across the gang in front of Restaurant Pitaloka. Good work Murry 👍
We had our honeymoon in Nusa Dua in April 2002 and we are coming back again end April 2025 only this time with a 22yr old, 21 and 17 yr old. Looking at possibly a villa or nice hotel in around Seminyak area as I think Nusa Dua might be a bit too quiet at night time. Unless it's changed in 23 yrs. Would appreciate any recommendations of areas of a bit of everything. Great vlog❤
Gday Muzza we will be there in a few weeks 8 time to Bali my port of call will be to go see Monica & Frank about purchasing a property there as iv watched the video about Visas and property keep the get information coming cheers Grozza
Kuta is somehow a place ill always have to vistit for a few days or so when coming over. I dont know why, but it was the first area i visited and it kinda feels like home. BUT, i hope people dont spend too much time there, its far from the best area to visit. Its great if you have been travelling around Indonesia and need a bit of western food and influx, maybe going to the cinema. But for Bali experience, pleace go outside that area at least for daytrips, preferably more. Sampai jumpa :D
There are so many Australians that still think that an Australian car license covers them for a scooter in Bali. It does not. The scooters in Bali are mainly 125cc motorcycles and not 50cc mopeds..
Thanks Muzza great video. Heading over in July first timer stay at double six. Looking fwd to ur seafood night. Definitely going to send u a message a few weeks prior to coming over. 👍
For the longest part of this. Listening I’m like “where?? Where is he? Keeps sounding like Cooter” (yikes) lol 😂 KUTA. Gotcha. Ozzie accent just sounds wild with that
Thank you so much Muzza, your videos are amazing☺we will be in Bali in October, is there any way you could do a video around Canguu, that's where we'll be staying. Thanks again for all the info you provide for us all while in Bali, take care and hope to see you and your family in October.🙂
Hi, thanks for very informative comments. We are just leaving Bali after 13 days and I must say we are very disappointed with overall stay. Our accommodation was great, but as we stayed outside of gated resort, be ready for early wake up call by rooster 4:40-5:00am. Please also warn people about pedestrian pot holes and dog poo, even on main streets. Can you please make a video about the reality and show the rubbish on the beaches which are not in front of resorts - just general public beaches. Also whatever you do don’t go on the snorkeling trip to Nusa Penida, unless you want to see dead coral reef. Overall two stars out of 5.
Hi Murray, we are heading to Bali later this month, staying in Sanur at the new Seascape Resort. I’d like to do a day trip to Ubud, what do you recommend? Just get a taxi or a Grab or a Gojek for a day ? Haven’t been to Bali for a long time so I guess things will have changed a lot ! Thanks
When I've been in bali staying in hotels and resorts. I really struggle with the wifi for work, do you have any tips. On how to get good internet access so I can work why I'm there.
Is this close to the area legian? Im going to phuket 3rd july for 2 weeks and im going to go somewhere else for maybe 4 to 5 days and bali is an option is the nightlife busy?
MUZZA: "So you're a first timer to Bali, A Bali virgin... I tell ya, sit back, relax.... " I thought he was going to say he'll ease into the video slowly and be gentle haha :)
There is only one sewage treatment plant in Bali (near Sanur) so I doubt the "open sewer" issue has been solved. Rather covered by concrete tiles, pumped up by trucks and dumped into the rivers is my guess.
@@Steve-tn5cr oh soz I admit back then I was only 25 and ignorant - I just remember open “trenches” that had water of some sort in them on the side of the footpaths 😀

Yes.. go to KW Tours and for $20 you get a sim card for 39 days with around 30gb of download
How lomg have you lived in Indonesia mate?

Got all the good beaches right here in Ozz minus scammers and all the other drama one has to avoid in Bali.
Lot of Aussies though
Yes I think I remember the open sewers haha
Yep, and my kids wouldn't stop playing in them when it rained😅

What open sewers? There are none. The drains are for grey water. Ive lived in Indonesia 14 years

Not the $10/night lossman including breakfast that I remember.
Great advice I'd say never say it's your first time lol
100 dollars a night seems extremely expensive
And a 3 star motel in Port Macquarie NSW is around $130/ night...
Not a Bali virgin here. But all funny and True.
are they honest or trying to scam you for every cent you got?
What’s a ta doo ? Oh ! Tattoo..I thought it’s was slang for something nefarious
Bali lost its soul 40 years ago....dont bother.
Best advice just dont get off the plane and go somewhere decent
Thank you for this
