  • Mother Nature has been crying a lot lately.. And by that, I mean it's been raining almost non-stop, making creek fishing less enjoyable, but... She took a chill pill for a bit, and the water FINALLY went down, so... I went back to one of my favorite creek spillways for an evening rip. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. PAAA POWW!

I stumbled upon your video while watching Creek Fishing Adventures. I just subscribed! As for the carp, when I was young, I was fishing off a dock on Lake Seminole, GA, and this YUGE carp (at least 2x as big as the one in your video) came right up to the dock, my Big Bro. put his ball of worms in the water and it ate it. He didn't land it because we were just using little bream slapper rods with lightweight line. But he had a great fight for about 5 seconds, LOL! As for the Gar! You know they say sometimes you learn a lesson the hard way. Well, I grew up in the Philippines and as a 9 year old, new to FL, I was fishing by myself and caught a small gar. I stuck my thumb right in its mouth just like a bass. They aren't lying when they say "teeth, razor sharp"! Lots of blood... LOL

I actually just find the long wide blades of grass along the bank. I just keep hooking the the hook point through the blade like you would for a night crawler. Put several blades on the hook. Let it get water logged so it will sink. It doesn’t cast the easiest, but it definitely works.

Hard dog food for top water grass carp fishing. Use a small gold hook to float a piece of dog food and then through out a handful of dog around your hook. Also use a bobber to help gain casting distance.

I always heard of catching grass carp with white bread or some kind of pack bait. But the white bread, you have to float it on top of the water, you can look all that up, should be able to find all kinds of ways to catch them. I’ve caught several grass carp out of farm ponds and was using a float and wax worms!

You need to find a pond that you know has Grass Carp stocked in, and chum the surface of the water with white bread. Once they start feeding you can surface fish for them which is one of the most common ways you can catch them. If not, bottom fishing with bread balls can also work. Be prepared though because the big ones can fight up to an hour sometimes with light tackle. You will get hooked on fishing for them however because they put a better fight than any other freshwater fish in my opinion. My PB grassy is about 25 pounds and it took me about 45 mins to get him in. BRING A NET! Good luck!
