    Love that you started with a simple clasp (for beginners like me) and graduated to more involved clasps. They are all beautiful and thank you for giving several ways of making them.

    Such lovely work! Now I can rest easy when I run out of ready made pricey clasps and just make my own. Thanks, Lily! Greetings from California!

    If you hammered the ring it would match. Loved those Celtic knots and wire work. Thanks for the demo!

    Very nice clasps. I think handcrafted clasps are a wonderful way to finish a piece.

      Thank you Wendy! Yes, and the advantage is that you can make the clasp to match the rest of the piece.

    Very lovely! I especially loved the knotted clasp. I'm just getting into using my butane torch. Can you only ball up the ends on raw copper or can you also do it on plated wire? I love your videos. Thank you so much Lily-Tree *hugs*

    You sure love that chasing hammer only difference I would do as far as letting out the wire I would use a planishing hammer but it is a good tutorial

    Really, the bail pliers are whats necessary besides a cutting tool. Round nose are
    Ok but bail making pliers allow more control with the diameter of bends and loops. If your on a budget, get a nice cutter and bail pliers

    • @LilyTree
      @LilyTree  6 років тому

      Yes, I really love my bail making pliers - which is probably why they appear so often in my videos! 😃

    Great tutorial. Do you know the wire gauge(s) you used from the clasps?
    Is there a tutorial for the bracelet that you attached the "J" hook clasp to? Love it!
    Did you use a micro-torch for the balling technique on the knotted clasp?

    • @LilyTree
      @LilyTree  7 років тому +1

      Thanks Michelle. The wire was 1mm (18 gauge) for the J clasp and circle clasp and 0.8mm (20 gauge) for the S clasp. The bracelet is coming up in a future video, so keep an eye out for that! And yes, it's a little handheld micro torch. See my video on balling headpins for more info on the technique: ua-cam.com/video/62pl3mQxu-w/v-deo.html

      Thanks for your quick reply. Knowing the gauge really helps. Found & bookmarked this chart for future reference. www.firemountaingems.com/resources/encyclobeadia/charts/6404
      Happy the balling tech was done with a micro torch. Not as intimidated by that compared to others. Looking forward to seeing how to make the first bracelet in this vid. Thanks again!

    What size wire are you using ? how much wire to use?

    • @LilyTree
      @LilyTree  7 років тому +1

      Hi Rose, I recommend between 0.8mm and 1mm wire for these clasps. I used 1mm (18 gauge) for the j clasp and the circle clasp, and 0.8mm for the knotted s clasp. I talk about lengths at the start of each section.

    😊it would be nice to translate the measurements into inches

    • @leeannah

      You can use Google to convert the measurements, I use it for all the tutorials that use inches that I need in centimeters.

    PLEASE use a rubber mallet or something! You ruined the clasp with marks.
