    Stevie Wright, one of the greatest rock singers and frontmen, was a tremendously exciting performer. He had two careers, one as lead singer of The Easybeats and another following that band's demise as a solo performer. He was a big influence on Bon Scott and also on AC/DC's sound.

      Do you know if stevie wright was the lead singer for the easybeats from the time that they started the band until they broke up in.1969....if he was replaced who took over the sing and why. What happened between Stevie wright and dick diamond. They said that they had hard filling for each other. Do you know if George young also had a form of dementia or Alzheimer's towards the end of his life. Was Malcolm young the only one with the illness. I hope that they are resting in peace together. I feel bad for their families. To lose one is sad, but to but to lose them both only one month a part. I just can only imagine the heart aches. Prayers for them all. 😢😢

      Why didn't they wait until Stevie got out of rehab to promote this album.
      Or they could have came to the USA to promote it..
      No one here knew about his troubles with drugs and it might have saved him.
      Because his drug dealers wouldn't have been able to get to him. They could have let him apear on American bandstand with Dick Clark,or on the Ed Sullivan show.
      We had a lot of great shows that could have been a great help to him.
      And are teen magazine's would have put him on the covers. The teen-age girls would have been able to do the rest.

    • @blueycarlton
      @blueycarlton 2 роки тому +12

      He was a prolific lyricist/songwriter. He and George Young wrote 99% of the Easy's early material. In England a record producer said his writing was not good enough and it sent him on a downward drug spiral from which he never recovered. When the Easys folded he ended up in his early 20's back in Sydney broke, and having to work in a mens wear shop to make a living.
      He had a come back and a national No.1 hit with Evie parts 1, 2, & 3, a 10 minute monster hit written for him by former Easys Vanda and Young.
      Stevie would have been the perfect replacement for Bon Scott in ACDC, but his drug problems had taken hold.

We would not have heard of the song evie or any of his solo music.. and that would have been a shame. He just had to much talent to be not heard. When he went to get help for his drugs adction the rehabilitation center left him worst then I if he had just quit . They gave him electronic shock and deep sleep for days. He had to jump out of a window to get away from the doctors at that place. He was left with brain damage after that.. he was also a diabetic and didn't know it. His life story was very sad one.

RIP you awesome singer.

    • @OldiesMomma
      @OldiesMomma Рік тому

      I have to agree with you that Stevie wright was a very great 👍 song writer and performer 😂😂 .
      I think that he was the reason why the Easybeats was so popular it was his songs that George wrote the music to for.
      There songs were on the top of the music charts in Australia.
      It was his dancing and arobic jump's and back flips that made them famous. He has cute and sweet.
      It wasn't George young or Harry Vanda who was getting girls mailed to them. It was Stevie.
      The group should have been called Stevie wright and the Easybeats. Or more simply the The Stevie wright Band
      If it wasn't for Stevie there wouldn't be any AC DC or any other groups. He was the band

    Heard it first in a movie, was tripping on it like "How the heck did I miss a Bon Scott song growing up?" Great rendition here. It made me remember one time a tough m.f. in my high school and his buddy passed me and a fellow D&D nerd walking in Ford pickup and flipped us off and called us gay. I reacted without thinking and flipped him off. Truck comes back and I got socked up. He finds me alone in an annex a few days later and I was like damn, here we go again. Instead he apologized to me, said he had suffered real guilt as he knew I didnt deserve it. He confessed he could not control his anger. He said I need not fear another beating and that if I ever needed a favor, needed anyone "taken care of" I had but to ask. He was a tow head kid who always had cut lip and black eye but if he ever lost a fight I did not know of it. When I heard that sing it brought his face back to me after all those years and I was sad for him.

    I absolutely love this song. Agreed that similar to Bon Scott. Also BIG BIG KUDOS to whoever put the song with the video - A masterpiece indeed.

    Wish there was a poster of his final spin, where it freeze frames on the video! I’d put it on my wall like a thirteen year old girl......even if I am 67!!!!!!

    This song and clip influenced me so much. I was 12 and seen this on the ABC's music show GTK (pre Countdown days) and I was hooked. I realised that day what great stuff Aussie Rock was producing and I have now spent the last 40 years watching and buying the stuff. Stevie you were a legend RIP.

      A los que no les guste de seguro les gusta el regeton. lo estoy volviendo a escuchar después de un tiempo, no sé cómo esque lo deje de escuchar. Por cierto es como estar escuchando a Bon Scott cantar.

    Those were the days! You could go to a hotel and be in a group of maybe 200 in total, right up against the stage: sprayed with the bands sweat, rocking on. None of the concerts nowadays up to 200,000 people it’s not the same. Saw the Angels at a little club of maybe 100 people, in South Australia you could see most of the bands with no difficulty

    There's a handful of us out there who, if asked what their gallows song or Valhalla ride or desert island sunset song would be, would without hesitation say, "Little Stevie Wright, the Black-Eyed Bruiser." Of course. No question.

    Interesting how this guy wasn't just Bon Scott's idle, but was gonna replace him in AD/DC right before Brian came along. Stevie was a passionate, world class singer even deep in addiction.
