Yes, here in England apart from “Friday…..” back in the1960s I don’t remember hearing anything else they did! It’s only these past 2 weeks I have learned about them!
The Easybeats captured worldwide acclaim a bit later with ''Friday on My Mind'' but 'I'll Make You Happy'' is probably where it should have started. With proper handling this could have been a major hit for the boys in international markets. As a Divinyls fan I love their spirited high energy interpretation of this song as well. Australia has produced some remarkable talent. jtk🍁Canada
Thanks for the memories George, came to Australia from the UK in 67 and the Easybeats was one of the first bands I heard, just as good as any band from the UK, loved them.
Yes but Stevie wright was there also along with the other easybeats members. George needs the other members to be known of at all. If they all had not moved to Australia at the same time nobody would have heard of the easybeats.
Don't forget stevie wright was there also, and was writing their music to.. they had some great music that he wrote .. and stevie was a great performer and solo artist on his own as.well. I don't know who wrote the songs for the group acdc but it was not as good.acdc only screamed the songs and hurt your ears trying to I guess play their instruments by the way they could not do that either. Just to noisy and loud.. how they made it to the rock and roll hall of fame beats me

You could mistake this for just another very good pop rock song but it goes deeper than that. There is real bad boy ambiguity in that... I'll make you happy claim.
@@yuhgftp7925 Please correct me if I'm wrong but this TV show was kind of a sendoff for the boys cuz they were going to the UK / Europe etc. The wife was depressed cuz the managers of the band didn't want wives to go.
Hey .. This is a good song - I'd never heard it before right now, like 55 years later. ... it's you know, kind of punk. Well except for those go go dancers.
Brothers Young..from Scotland..Brothers Gibb..from Manchester..they all started from Australia..SoOo much talent in Britain..they even exported some to other countries🤪
What a cool time to be a young musician. I still remember the excitement of hearing this ingenious simple feel good music I could play and perform too. Now adays the music is like fast food, it really sounds & tastes bad. People have hit the wall on melody and creativity. Everything is stale and rap|rap. Oh, one other thing. The performers are overweight and have zero stage presence. Back in the day, you had to be a total package. Today all you have to be is...mediocre and overweight with way too many tattoos everywhere! Give me a break, especially my poor ears. Pee eew to you pretentious artists. Give me the 1960's please! Real talent and happy too!!!
He was trying to be overly nice to appease the mums and dads who watched Bandstand for lightweight pop while trying to also appeal to the teenagers who loved this new wave of pop-rock.
Those days would have rocked !
They were SO DAMNED GOOD! Incredible they didn't sweep the world.

Nah, they didnt have enough good original material
I agree!!
The girls of the sixties. Siggghh! I wish I could go back to there!
No need, a lot of them are still around.
RIP George, and thanks for everything.
I love the Easy Beats 💜💙💛💚
So good to see a healthy Steve. So sad. RIP Gorge and Steve. I still think of you guys often.
I love Easybeats even more after this performance !!
man I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!! first time hearing!!!
Just a fantastic song which many people think is simplistic but listen to shifting musical notes.
The Youngs Gave us the Easy Beats and AC/DC

You deserve a big thumbs-up John 👍
I didn't know there was a Divinyls cover until now. Thank you! I love covers done right.
I didn't hear this song until today. A great 1967 single that somehow didn't make it to USA.
One of my all time fav songs. How could it not have been an international hit if they had been allowed to re record it in the UK.
Yes ,!
Monday I have Friday on my mind!
❤Stevie Wright and Easybeats ❤️
wow...just what I am looking for.
Australia's Pretty Things both bloody wonderful bands !
this is a fantastic song and performance!!
Oh Stevie you were so sweet! George too. I wish I had the chance to meet them
I listen to everything from Haydn to The Stanley Brothers and Dale Watson and his Lonestars.... this is a great song.
Mad and sad❤
Young Angus and Malcolm saw this and knew what they were gonna do...
If only they were as talented as their older brother, George.... Please take this as a salute to George......

Stuart Corlett well I mean they an Aussie band! Pretty ballsy for their time.

excellent
The Easybeats were really great!
Vander and Young! What a musical powerhouse!! 🇦🇺
The two you see there are Stevie Write and George Young.

@@OldiesMomma It's the BEATS that made it there for them. Hail Hail Easybeats. It's TNT the last song.
@@OldiesMomma Probably because AC/DC is one of the greatest bands to ever take the stage before the death of Bon Scott. Maybe. I dunno. How dare you.
WOWW! a pitch for PR support cool! What a COOL BAND!
One of the best of the era. Very ‘Kinks’
still one of my faves to dance to
So good a song for that period...sad they weren’t recognized more....
This video is iconic and awe inspiring.
Rest in Paradise, George! May every day in the Great Big Gig in the Sky be a Friday for you! (PS: I always thought YOU were the "cute" one!)

That's George Young! AC/DC's progenitor.
R.I.P.+ George Young (6.11.1946 - 23.10.2017)
The Easybeats... eventually, if you know the whole story, led to *AC/DC*
Where have all the Go-Go Girls gone? (Long time passing.)

IIRC right after this show was broadcast the blond guy went home and his wife had committed suicide.

Just Look 'em up on the internet !! LOL

Better than the Divinyls cover.
Goodnight Brian
The performance of the easybeats was great. But the show was about the performance not the dancers.❤❤🎉❤❤
So sad what Stevie spiralled into Had 2 of the most gifted song writers in Australian history

wow , how was Brian Henderson
very straight

Who is this host? He's so shy and awkward. It's very interesting. It's weird to see a presenter as awkward and shy as the musicians he's interviewing.

Brian Henderson is a legend.
AC/DC version 1
when i had my own radio show had to play 10% australian music so i just played easybeats cause every other band is shit still to this day
May I introduce The Vines?
