@@thefonzkiss A series of episodes is a series. A longer series of episodes is a season because it is shown over more of the year, and so like Winter, Spring, Autumn, and Summer, seasons. In Classic British Television, a series of episodes made a story or "serial", and a series of serials formed a season. When serials stopped being made, it made sense to call the series of episodes as a series, and drop season, especially as they hardly last for more than a real season. And so for Doctor Who it helps differeniate the two eras, though outside of Doctor Who they can be used interchangably now anyway.

When I saw Hartnell's name held back in the cast list I knew it would end with "a dandy and a clown."

I think that out of all the Blu Ray set commercials this one really is the best!

Josephine Grant is one of the most underrated companions of all time. Great development through her seasons and impeccable chemistry with her Doctor. She was Rose before Rose.
She has a great scene in SJA where she confronts Matt Smith about having Amy and Rory on the TARDIS, where she only left because she got married. If you haven't seen it, you should. Loras Tyrell/Danny Rand is her grandson.
Am so excited to see this cleaned up.... but not too cleaned up.
Such a beautiful trailer, a tribute to old Who. So many great talents sadly gone, but at least we have these wonderful moments to remember them. Really lovely. Thank you.

These classic collection trailers keep getting better and better. And, I must say, you veritably reversed the polarity of my feels completely with that Hartnell twist at the end. Can't have the 3 Doctors without the 3 Doctors, can you? ;)

Literally! He and Fleming served together in The War, and rumour has it John’s love of gadgets and martial arts was part of what inspired Bond.

Loving these trailers, yet this may be my favourite so far.
it really did feel like the season that changed everything though. when i watched through all of classic who, you could kind of tell that it hit a turning point around this time. it had found its groove with regenerations, and i think the studio had finally realized its worth and started putting a bit more effort into it.

Yep. Actually, I believe it appeared as early as the Second Doctor's run.
Almost had a heart attack, I thought this was the series 12 trailer for a second.
Anyway, Pertwee is the best classic doctor IMO and this season was iconic. Frontier in space was my first ever classic story and it’s my favourite classic to this day! Planet of the daleks is very underrated too.
But... there isn’t a 12 in the thumbnail.

My first Dr Who memory was an episode of Carnival of Monsters
this season 22, and 9 our by far the best trailers
Dang.. Usually BBC trailers aren't very good, if i have to be honest; but, am I so glad tgat if they had to make one that was exceptianally and brilliantly made, it would be for one of the best seasons of Classic Doctor Who. It makes me so happy to see the BBC treating the Classics with such care and respect even so long after they came out. As a long time fan, I thank you guys so much for this. It trully is beautiful.

I've spent the past few months watching classic Who chronologically and am now at the end of Jon's run. Watching this trailer gave me some pretty major goosebumps, well done!
