Expedition 33 was when all RPG fans locked in.
Expedition 33 was the biggest turn from "this looks kinda generic" to "oh what the HELL" i've seen a while. suddenly became very interested once i saw it was a turn-based (also action-ish?) RPG
Reminded me of a mix of Persona and Paper Mario, with the button prompts.
@@DRAG0NSPIRIT10I would say it’s more so like the Mario & Luigi RPGs than Paper Mario since you can actually dodge and counterattack unlike Paper Mario.

That game has such a cool and creepy as hell premise that I hope it can stick the landing. I think it might actually be a turnbased soulslike as well.

That Expedition 33 game looks incredible.
Expidition 33 is my most anticipated game for 2025 off of it's reveal trailer alone
Craziest thing is they had a crazy good show with absolutely zero mention of Halo, which is (allegedly) the Xbox flagship franchise
The thing is there were many more Xbox IPs to fill the gap: GoW, Fable, Perfect Dark and Age of Mythology.
South of Midnight looks super inspired by Louisiana bayou stuff, with the accents and the music, plus the fact the seeming-mentor/travel companion is a giant catfish...I'm certainly interested!

Ben Starr in the Expedition 33 trailer is pretty obvious, but I'm pretty sure one of the other viuces we hear, is Aimee-Ffiom Edwards who's Mio from Xenobkade 3 abd Ranni from Elden Ring.

Thanks for uploading your blind reaction to this XBox Showcase Nico! The biggest highlights for me was MGS Delta, Doom: The Dark Age, and Expedition 33! Expedition 33 was definitely a pleasant surprise with Ben Starr and Turn Based combat!

Seeing Gears of War E Day made me really happy even though it’s a prequel
It’s pretty cool we’ll be seeing the events of E day which is the day the Locusts came up from the underground and attacked the human (hence emergence day)

Expedition 33 and Wuchang were definitely the games of the show for me.
Dragon Age Veilguard used to be called Dragon Age Dreadwolf. I don't know if it will be good as a lot of veteran staff has either been fired or left.

To give some clarification on Gears of War: E-Day.
- "E-Day" is short for "Emergence Day".
- That's Marcus & Dom in the trailer.
- This is a *prequel* to the original trilogy.
- The original trilogy started *14 Years after E-Day.*
- Marcus & Dom were 36 & 35 years old respectively in Gears of War 1. On Emergence Day, they were 22 & 21 years old respectively.
During the original trilogy's run, the franchise expanded out into Comics & Novels. Which further expanded the story & lore to Gears of War. Covering events that occurred before & in-between the games of the original trilogy. When the fans read those, they wanted an actual game set in the initial period of Emergence Day. No campaign DLC or anything of the sort.
And now they got their wish, _Gears of War: E-Day._
_Sidenote. The gun in this trailer was the Lancer assault rifle with a traditional Knife Bayonet (AKA, the "Retro Lancer"). Lore wise; this is _*_before_*_ the Lancer got its iconic Chainsaw Bayonet._

Also, regarding the Age of Mythology games:
- The original game, released in 2002
- "The Titans" expansion, released in 2003, which adds the Atlantean civilization
- AoM: Extended Edition, released in 2014, which adds several changes and improvements to the game
- The "Tale of the Dragon" expansion, released in 2015, which adds the Chinese civilization, but MAN was this expansion rushed - the campaign is, no joke, unfinished
- and now, AoM: Retold, which would be the equivalent to the Definitive Editions of AoE2 and 3

For leagal reasons they can't be called gundam, but it's very obvious it's Gundam
actually there's plenty of mecha that ISN'T gundam and in fact the mechs in mecha break are a LOT sleeker compared to Gundam (and also turn into planes it seems, something gundam cannot do)
Like just because Gundam is the only mecha show you know doesn't mean it has be what is infleuencing this game.
What made this presentation great was that they just showed trailer no behind the scene stuff or detailing except for a couple.
One modder on twitter said they didn't like Starfield, that's all that was.
And the bugfix thing is so fucking stupid. The game has been 95% bug free since the first update. Very few people actually had any issue. For Bethesda, it's the most bugfree game ever.
Watch the update videos from the Bethesda channel and you'll see the game has more content added every month. Or just complain about stuff you haven't tried I guess.
But otherwise, love the reaction, so hyped for the majority of these.
This whole showcase was fucking amazing to see live and fills my inner Xbox kid self with joy!
Now as long as they don't close any studio or decide to retire a game from their store, we'll be fine.
there are a lot of good games here but also with xbox buying and then closing studios, its hard to actually be hyped for any of these. expedition 33 looks cool tho, a western triple A turn based RPG!

I will say for State of Decay its the zombie game i enjoy the most.
Prediction : I say Indiana Jones and the Great Circle comes out this November.

In fact, if not for how prominent the boards you climb are, you could almost argue that the blue "highlight" made to look like faded paint is almost too subtle... Or maybe that's my brightness, idk.😂
Still, game devs, this is how you do it.

Whenever i heard Ben Starr all my body parts were tingling :D So hyped for Expedition 33
I do feel bad about Tango, and felt their situation could have been handled better. But I also feel Shinji Mikiami left them to sink. From what I heard, he left with some of the talent from Tango and that certainly spelled the end for them. I mean, let’s be real, Bethesda took in Tango because it had a big name attached to it. Without him, I don’t think they could have stood on their own. I hope they all pull through and find some work after that mess. Other than that, this show was awesome. 9.5/10 from me.
Shinji Mikami debunked the "Took a lot of talent with him." story a while back, actually.
This isn’t true he didn’t leave them to sink. Him taking most of the talent was just a rumor.
That and Evil Within 1 and 2 didn't really do that well sails wise and is considered a very mid horror series, that and Hi Fi Rush must've eaten more resources then they could afford.
Hi Fi Rush very much felt like a game where the devs were going "we're going to go out with a bang no matter what."
As someone who played and beat both DOOM 2016 and Doom Eternal, they are both very fun games and do recommend that if you haven’t do go back and at least beat 2016. I’d say Eternal is a much harder game to play than 2016 (but once you do get the hang of it, it is one of the most fun games I have ever played), so it’s not necessary, but definitely 2016.

If you mean the funny extra non-canon cutscenes, probably not. They got removed from the HD Collection on the PS3/360

The Xbox showcase was actually interesting, what a twist!
I like how I can just skip these live gaming presentations and just watch them on Nico's channel instead at 2x speed.

You might have been thinking of Lost Odyssey on the 360 which is a pretty traditional turn based rpg which was awesome but was never re-released on pc or other consoles :( Also The Last Remnant was another rpg of that time but was a bit different since it was sorta squad based
I feel kinda iffy with Dragon Age: Veilguard, the characters looked kinda over designed. IMO. Plus it’s weird seeing Varik with a beard since he legit doesn’t like having one.
I do wish the main character from fable didnt look like half cooked pudding. Then again theyre pretty much british so its accurate
There is only one Age of Mythology game (not counting expansions and rereleases). Age of Mythology is spin of off the Age of Empires series.

If you’re actually interested in looking through the story of WoW, I’d go in with tempered expectations. There’s a lot of really good stuff, but Blizzard was not afraid to absolutely character assassinate some fan favorites for the sake of a raid boss. *cough* Illidan *cough* Sylvanas *cough*

I'm really conflicted about Doom. On one hand, I _loved_ 2016 and Eternal. On the other hand, fuck Id Software for what they did to Mick Gordon.
I really am only concerned with metal gear solid and doom, and thats fine by me since i dont want to stab my wallet anymore in the foreseeable future...especially after the upcoming steam summer sale...

its people mad cause one of the player characters is a black samurai. That's it, that's the only thing people are mad about. Ingoring said black samurai, Yasuke, was a real ass historical figure from that time period who was a big player in Oda Nobunaga's army, thus giving him plenty of reason to be involved in the game's story most likely. And people mad about "not playing as a japanese character" are kinda ignorign the FEMALE NINJA who is the OTHER player character.
But yeah its not a really...reasonable complaint, honestly. Mostly just rooted in tradition at best (how dare they doo something different for their new game and have you play as a historical figure for once and also someone who isn't native to the country) and outright racisim at worst (I shouldn't have to play as a black man in the new asscreed game i totally cared about ebfore)
Wow, this is definitely a shock. I'm not usually one for Xbox, but I'll admit it's interesting.
I'm so excited for Doom The Dark Ages. I was shocked to see it's coming to PS5 as i thought it was gonna be only on Xbox series and PC.
I was expecting them not to do that as that would ironically kill doom if they didn't have it on ps5.
And Microsoft as that would be spitting in the face of everyone and ticking people off if they did. Huge pr nightmare type of deal.
Still not happy with them shutting Tango, plus even if any of the game do well, unless their gears/halo, they will just be close. We literally saw it with Hi-fi Rush despite winning awards/xbox best last year - one of my all time favs if raincode wasn't the same year -
This showcase is pretty solid compared to previous ones. Still a lot of mid looking games, barely distinguishable from each other. The presentation for this showcase was also pretty boring. Id give it a 6/10.
The "Controversy" for Assassin's Creed: Shadows is because one of the two main characters is a Black Samurai, people are claiming its "Pandering" and "Historical Accuracy is lost due to the Black Samurai" but that Black Samurai is a Historical Figure who was a Black Samurai named Yasuke, so the complaints are uninformed and stupid
Starfield is in a better place now than it used to be. The game went all no mans sky style and became a better game after releasing as a mid game
Nico, I really wish you’d give Life is Strange a chance. It’s got good characters, story, and mystery. I don’t think it’s that melodramatic. Would be a good stream game.
I was surprised....there were more game i liked then i was expecting. Definitely better then State of Play this time(though i still think SGF was a little better overall. More games i cared about/was interested in.) Though you can't be be to excited when we've just been reminded of how shitty Xbox treats new studios they buy. Beit never using them and then killing it, or if they do use them, give them unreasonable expectations so thier basically set up for an inevitable shutdown, even having a breakout hit can't save you apparently(thanks game pass....)

At this point, any game announcement anything type of event I never have the chat on UA-cam on because that crap is toxic as hell. I learned my lesson with that partner showcase Nintendo did in summer 2020. Everyone literally was bitching about no Nintendo anything in a no Nintendo event & trashing jrpgs the whole time. People going, "no zelda, no smash, 0/10," "where's botw sequel? I haven't heard about it in a year, everything here was shit" & "get this weeb trash out of my face," when referring to smt 5 & smt 3 remaster, as a handful of examples.
I mean it’s not like what they’re saying is coming from nowhere. So many companies are purposely making female characters unattractive from what they were before (MJ from Spider-Man 2, and whoever that lady is from silent hill, and the horizon protagonist in the sequel) and if I’m not mistaken, the fable lady was based on a real woman but they made her VERY ugly in the actual game, despite the woman IRL looking decently attractive. And in terms of diverse characters, it’s very obvious these companies are putting these guys in just to be diverse and inclusive, because it gives them brownie points. It happens all the time with modern games, so it’s understandable why chat would roll their eyes at more of it. Calling them “incels” for not wanting to have to play as an ugly character holds just as much value as me calling woke stuff bad (at least to you)
