Not sure if cause I had literally ZERO expectations but this Xbox Showcase was actually 🔥🔥 I'd give it a 8.5/10 maybe even a 9. Lots of good games shown, was entertaining mostly throughout, and flowed well. Put together a few reactions of the games that caught my eye.

It was an incredible showcase, far better than I expected. They really needed it though after all the negative publicity they've been having recently. This just brought back their credibility as a good platform.

Legit felt like E3, which I've never felt with the Geoff show. Fable, Perfect Dark, Doom, Gears, COD, all the third party stuff actually, etc. looks promising.
In the near future I'm curious about Avowed since it comes from Obsidian, i hear they're showing gameplay tomorrow. I'm hoping after Avowed and Outerworlds sequel Obsidian focuses on 1 game so they can finally make a AAA looking title, graphically.

There’s still 2 unannounced games from Naughty Dog, 2 unannounced games from Santa Monica Studio, Haven’s new game, Bend Studio’s new game, Insomniac’s Wolverine and other unannounced titles, San Diego’s unannounced AAA action game, Bluepoint’s next game, Firesprite’s next game, Housemarque’s next game and Sucker Punch’s next game (most likely GoT2).
They have plenty of first party studios that can put together a great showcase, so I definitely wouldn’t say Sony are screwed. They’ll also look to make exclusive deals with third party developers the way they did with FF7, Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade etc.
Im actually glad xbox is steppin up, the only way gamers will eat is if there’s competition on all platforms
Gears E Day take place sometime after Dom's older brother died and he is the main reason why Marcus became so cold and badass. It is also the introduction of Locust horde attacking the surface
Damn, you know your stuff. I'm relatively new to Gears of War but I played through the entire franchise recently thanks to Game Pass. I remember them talking a lot about Emergency Day but it was always in dialogue. Soon we'll get to actually see it and play it.

the best part of this show was how low I kept my expectations and came out satisfied with the news I was given.

Gears 3 gotta be one of my favorite games i ever played when i had a 360
1-3 was dope. 4 is when it started to go a bit poopy story wise but the gameplay was still good. I'm glad they're bringing it back to the original style in a prequel no less.

Not only are they multiplats, they should be multiplatform, because the only reason they have the Xbox branding is because Microsoft is too creatively bankrupt to make their own games instead of buying entire publishers.

Best showcase in a long while. I feel like I want to play 75 percent of the games they showed and that's rare. My only gripe is I wish there was a little more gameplay. I am personally very excited for State of Decay 3 but I am also worried about it. Great show though.

My brother selling xboxes is not the goal of Microsoft. They don't even make much money off console sales the real money maker is in the cut they take on software purchases on their platform. Now with Gamepass the focus shifts from console sales to getting the game in the hands of has many players who want to play it. Regardless of where you buy the game to play it you are buying into the xbox ecosystem. Just look at the Steamdeck for example you can buy PC games anywhere but Steam has built an ecosystem. It does not matter if you can build a PC with any parts you want and purchase games on whatever storefront you want because they have built up so much value its a no brainer to buy into their ecosystem. Xbox as a platform is looking to do the same going forward. Buying the game on Steam, PS5 or streaming it though the cloud all lead to Microsoft gaining profits while buying a gamepass subscription leads to the best value... Either way Xbox is one step closer to their goal

For once Xbox takes home a W. To be completely honest, this showcase was better than any of Sony’s in years. Kudos to Phil. However, most of what was shown isn’t exclusive. The highlight for me was definitely DOOM: The Dark Ages and apparently that’s coming to PS5 so I still have no reason to have an Xbox. Honestly, it’s like they bought Bethesda for nothing LMAO but hey I ain’t complaining 😂

Sony doesn’t have many compelling games in the pipeline other than more remakes on the way… they threw their best punches in the early rounds and may not have much gas left in the tank… if they’re already announcing a mid-gen refresh, then that should let you know… Can Xbox rebound in the middle rounds??

After this just don't tell me "Graphics does not matter", you could take the same showcase, with exact same reveals, but if graphics were meh in all these games, nobody would be this happy. All these games looked like some cutscenes and pre rendered trailers, while Sony state of play looked like it was made for year 2012.
As a neutral gamer. I want all of them to succeed, more competition only benefits us the players. This was amazing! The variety of games and GAMEPLAY for the majority of them. Gears, Doom, Perfect Dark, Fable, Avowed, MGS3 remake, and the games from those studios they acquired. 9/10. So happy for Xbox 🥲

I still dont know they made Indiana Jones first person. Indiana Jones is one of the most iconic characters, it would’ve been nice to actually see his character in action instead of being restricted to first person. That ain't even Indiana Jones that's just a FarCry mod
They probably asked the question “How do we stand out as our own thing? If we go third person will our game feel too similar to Uncharted or Tomb Raider?”. With this they can have their own take on an adventure game and story like this but have systems that are built around it being in first person so it feels even more distant from those 2. From the footage I like how it looks.

My only criticism is want to see more methodical games like Metal Gear, Splinter Cell, Hitman. I feel there’s a big market missing there. I want to see more slow paced games that are atmospheric, have subtlety and attention to detail, not everything has to be bombastic cause the market is quite saturated for high octane action games. There’s some good stuff shown here though that have a good balance of elements.

xbox showcases for the past three years have always been the highlight for the summer games fest for me. always gets me the most hyped and gives me e3 feels.
I’ll give it a 9, i actually forgot what it was like to watch a game show and get excited for games i had no clue existed before the show. This felt almost nostalgic

Graphics and gameplay wise, yes. Story wise, no. The story actually sucked for the most part, basically a continuation of Gears 4 which was also meh in terms of story. Still definitely worth playing.
@cun7us Unfortunately, "definitely worth playing" is still more than I can say for the other xbox games last gen (unless you're a racing fan).
Besides, while Gears 5's story isn't on Gears 1-3 level (especially 2 and 3), I liked it more than Judgement and 4's stories.
In terms of campaign yes. Multiplayer no. Gears 4 multiplayer had way more maps and characters and camos
I have played life is strange 1 and 2 didn't finish one but you should try 2 the story is so sad and i have not finished it either LOL
