Why does this surprise anybody? Toyota's CEO said, five years ago, that EV car technology is not yet viable not a good business model.

Yeah? And Toyota has YET to produce something better. Hydrogen? Wonderful stuff, once you get it into the tank. Where do you fill it up? How do you "make" hydrogen? As Shakespeare said: "Aye, there's the rub . . ." Ask Toyota Mirai owners what they think!

@@denysarcuri1213 Where does your electricity come from? And don't tell me windmills!! Fossil fuels and natural gas! The minerals and raw metals for these 1200 lb batteries comes from
South American and China where mining for them uses child labor and destroys the environment. Try driving one of these EV across American in the winter. Don't get caught in a snow storm. Battery life is cut down 30-40%. I saw about 40 or 50 of these cars waiting in line at a charging station in San Luis Obispo on a busy weekend. Each one taking 40 minutes or more. It's a joke!
We were with friends who had an EV. We were planning to go to one location for the weekend. We had to change plans to get
their car charged. When we got there the chargers were busy!! They live with destination anxiety. Give it a break!

@@curtgomes Okay. okay. Why don't you go back to riding a horse? I don't reply further. Save the next Luddite screed for somebody else.
For the record: almost all of my electricity comes from the solar panels on my roof.

What is it with these people who need to throw rocks at EV technology and make videos criticizing EVs? EV supporters don't talk about ICE vehicles being troublesome and selling poorly, etc. We acknowledge, when asked, that ICE vehicles pollute more, use more fuel, are nosier, require oil changes, etc., but we don't feel compelled to make videos talking about the end of gas and diesel vehicles. We've all driven and owned ICE vehicles. Only a relative few of us have driven and owned EVs. I suggest that driving one leads to buying one. Buying one leads to the knowledge that ICE vehicles are obsolete. I'm a car guy, I own a 2012 Mustang Shelby GT500, a 2018 BMW 335i, a diesel-powered 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, a 2006 (!) Nissan Titan 4X4 off-road and a Tesla Model 3 and a Tesla Model Y, each of which is plugged in overnight. I drive the Mustang maybe 1,000 miles a year . . . and, I guess, the others a similar amount. Mainly, they're garage queens. The EVs do all the work. And, by the way . . . how come nobody ever complains about how much BMWs, Porsches and Corvettes cost? It's always "EVs are too expensive!" They're NOT, for anyone who really cares about that subject.

Dealers have never been excited to sell EV's as they make no money from servicing, because EV's dont need servicing.
Legacy car companies have seen reduced sales in EV's because their products dont match up to the best in class, they are inefficient, lacks software sophistication and are more expensive.
The Legacy car companies make huge losses on every EV they make, thats why they have throttled back production and sales, whilst EV demand is as high as it has ever been

if they knew how to make them then they could make a profit, if you reduce production you increase costs

EVs are inconvenient for a lot of people, some of those people find out the hard way, then they buy an ICE.
