- Over the past ten years, I have heated our homes with various types of wood stoves. This one, is by far, the best setup I have had and it can heat our entire house with just one big fire!

Do you have an indoor cat? The movement in the Christmas tree is almost as fascinating as how the heat moves through your beautiful and efficient home.😊
So casually, kind of just toured through the tree without toppling it and then came around to say hi.😀
Good video! The best part is the cat in the Christmas tree!
LOL the kitty climbing around in the Christmas tree!
Well, your cat likes the Christmas tree (lol). ❤
We have a wood stove in the basement, heat rises so it works pretty well to heat our two story house.
The cat in the tree was great :D.
informative and enjoyable, I especially enjoyed the cat in the tree.
i still have a open fire but i get free wood from the beach for it on day i might put a insert in... but new Zeeland can have warm winters too i hope you had charismas god bless
Enjoyed watching,very informative 😮😊🌲❤️
Wood heat very relaxing and great to sooth aches and pains! CHERS from HERE!
This is how we heat. Our home is an old 4 square style, that added a dining room onto. The block chimney goes right through the center of the home with a pass through vent into the upstairs hallway. The stairs acts as a cool air return. After a couple days of burning the upstairs is as warm as the main floor. We use a Lopi 1750
Nicely done vid. Where's your vid link to your water boiler system?
Wood heat is the best heat. Merry Christmas and happy new year
Love seeing the cat in the Christmas tree! LOL
Lead the family dad !😊
Do you have a video of how exactly does a wood boiler work? Might have missed it.
I have a Blaze King King 40 wood stove that is a free standing one but was put into the huge fireplace opening we have. It was done long before we bought the house. Inside the fireplace opening are several ducts that go to the upstairs bedrooms where they have registers. It stays nice and warm this way. I loaded 3 large pieces of wood in it last night about 10pm. I added 1 log this afternoon about 2pm. My house is warm and I won’t reload it until later tonight and it’s 7:30pm right now. It has a metal catalyst that reburns the gases and very little smoke comes out the chimney. It’s a large sandstone chimney and hearth. It’s the best wood stove I’ve ever used. They also make a variety of smaller stoves and inserts that work the same way. When the flue reaches a certain temperature you shut the bypass door and the catalyst does its work. There is a thermostat to control air intake to regulate the temperature. I don’t often see flames once the catalyst is engaged. You will see some low blue flames along the wood. Our downstairs bedroom has the door closed all day to keep the heat out of there as we like it cold for sleeping. I’m in NW Montana so we get some cold temperatures. Days are barely into the 40’s right now. We do have a propane heater also but would rather run this while we can.
I too have a wood stove with a catalyst. Does your stove produce a lot of flame with the air damper all the way and the cat engaged? Also, do you know what temp your stove reaches when you have the cat engaged?
How much creosote do you see with that insert? Nice stove!
I clean it every couple years and it has been minimal
We have a Bi-level house with a basement. First floor has a crawlspace underneath and attic above. The second floor has an attic above. The basement has a fireplace on the south wall next to the crawlspace. Most of the brick is on the outside. Would an insert work for us? Thanks
Cat in the Christmas tree at 7:54 😺😹
How is it hooked to your flue? Did you sleeve it or do you have it run right into the tile flue. Just got to the answer lol. That's what I get for asking in the middle of the video
Love seeing your awesome cat!
Too improve the efficiency design in s direct air feed (a duct that leads from the outside directly to the stove) the fan is pulling in heated room air that must be being replaced through external vents , window/door seals etc
Sidenote.... while increasing heating efficiency it will increase humidity as the current setup is sending damp warm Air up the chimney which is being replaced by cold dry air wherever it's entering the house
How much firewood (cords per year) do you use in the indoor fireplace and how much in the outdoor system?
Is the glass etched from use or just a little dirty? Nice stove!
Did anyone else notice the cat attacking the Christmas tree?
May I please ask, what does “Lead the Lord” mean?
The sign says “Lead Me Lord”
It is confusing, scripted writing.
👍😇❤🙏
I think your cat is a troublemaker.
lol, yeah I didn’t notice him climbing around in the tree until I edited!
That darn cat.....
4200sqft...thats like heating a warehouse.
