- The 70's lounge renovation is almost complete with just a few finishing touches left. But before we can check this off the list we need to create a large wall length shelf for the pool table area. I will be using poplar and joining two boards together to make the full length of the wall. This wall isn't straight so let's see how it all turns out!

Do the engravings on wall plaques and hang them above the shelf. Very nice job. Thanks for sharing. God bless and protect.

Before staining the shelf, you could have scribed the shelf to the wall and cut the shelf to fit right against the wall. For the scriptures, after staining the shelf and before putting on the clear coats, you could have used a gold-colored paint on the scriptures then after it dried just lightly sand the gold off the surface then clear coated the shelf. It still looks pretty nice though.
I truly considered custom cutting the board to the wall but in the end chickened out fearing I would mess up that cut, lol
No one can see the word of God unless you specifically look at it.

Not allow to use the word touch up in the house as the wife figured it out that "touch up" means never gets done!
Maybe you could go over the lettering with something dark and then rub it off of the surface so that it stays in the lettering. It's nice the way it is too.

Hi there what you need to do to get the Versus to show is to Stain ben first then Use the leisuring graver to do your Versus again Then clear cute.The writing will stay white and show up perfectly
