I guarantee you that if you like this I can change your mind by suggesting the funniest scene (admittedly its not in a movie) but ever!, is the "So you shot Twice? No, I shot twice, once..." scene in Police Squad. I beg you to look it up. I pissed myself laughing!
The slow motion screams nearly cause me to crap myself every time!!! Brilliant and hilarious!!!! Particularly how Cato's slo-mo scream changes after Clouseau conks him with a nunchuk ---- right here at, 0:29
Yeah I was the same lmao my old man introduced me to these films and both of us had tears at this point he lost it when the nunchuck snaps off catos face 😂
Oh my. Do I remember seeing this at the cinema. I would have been 14, sister 15. Mum was highly pissed off that at this particular theatre. 14 was adult. The whole cinema have crying in laugher, Mum was straight laced the entire film.
This is a work of comedic art. It's absolutely hilarious. The mannerisms, the sound effects, the slo-mo...everything is genius. I love when they are sneaking and Clouseau hears a squeeking sound and turns around terrified.
I've just rewatched these films for the first time in many years and forgotten how brilliantly the gags felt natural and not forced like many comedies do nowadays. this film is still my favorite of them.
Cato's devotion to his job is truly heroic! You just can't get help like that these days. And Clouseau's apartment is brilliantly designed for stealthy martial arts moves and sudden surprises while wielding long wooden fighting staffs! I wonder if ex-Inspector Dreyfuss managed to unearth any valuable information with his periscope ploy?
The memory of him breaking the nunchuck over Cato's face brought me back here. Oh man, I remember fast forwarding through the VHS tapes just to watch this scene again. Thank you, UA-cam.
The awkward shakiness of the camera and the way it rarely cuts away and the silence makes this feel so much funnier because it feel like we just popped in on two siblings having a dumb fight in the house with power ranger swords
Folks, this is real comedy! Peter Sellers, Burt Kwouk and Herbert Lom were superb comedians. No matter how many times I watch this scene, it always makes me laugh!
Imagine being one of Clouseau's neighbors and hearing this go down! ......It would probably go down like this: Wife: Honey? What's that?! Husband: .....It's just Clouseau and Cato fighting again......Go back to sleep......
1:49 Wonder if this wasn't part of the script (Cato accidentally hitting himself in the forehead when his weapon rebounds off the low archway). Still was a pro and reacted in character.
I had a copy of this on VHS from the rental store, and I would rewind it to 0:25 two-dozen times before EVER letting the rest of the move play. This scene shaped who I am today. lol
😂😂😆 I don't know why but I always loved it when cato went from screaming at 0:53 to sound comically intimidating to just falling to sound like a child at heart, and closeau was clever there 😉🙂 *sending Cato to get the phone, and then wham!!!!*
Ya perhaps the funniest scene I think I ever saw in a movie. When I first saw this scene I thought I was going to pass out I was laughing so hard. Perhaps the funniest movie of all time. One laugh after another.
This entire scene is pure comedic gold. But the stare down with each displaying their prowess with their respective weapons followed by Cato's bull rush in slow motion at our hero and then getting cracked on the head by the nunchuck and screaming in pain as the nunchuck goes flying off the set?🤣🤣🤣🤣 I piss myself every time. Never gets old!

I like the first 2 films the best, but this one is definitely up there on the list considering it's the one that fully embraced the series being a parody knock off of the James Bond films.
Why can't more movies be like this. Pure genius and so funny. Peter was an absolute legend and Burt was an amazing man servant. It still brings tears to my eyes. Steve 👍
My neighbors are like: *"Martiiiiiiiiin! Caaaaalm DOOOOOOOOOOWN!!!!!!"* Martin's their child. Like, how do you expect to calm your child down by bellowing at it 😂😂😂
A Shot in the Dark is the only one I haven’t seen (it’s hard to find), but I think Strikes Again is the best one of them all. All amazing but this takes the cake for me. The legend Peter Sellers is criminally underrated in our generation.
Do you have any idea how HARD you would have to hit somebody with nunchakus for them to break like that?! (Assuming they were even a halfway decent pair.) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Beside of being a jewel in comedy, additionally a milestone for action movies, coming up following centuries. These were the first slowmo-fights (with down-transposed sound) ever. That still inspires so many artists and producers 😂 I still love it!!!!!
To cato and o Peter sellers and herbert lom and other actors and actresses who passed away my thoughts are with your family you may be gone but not forgotten still going strong keep the laughs old is pure solid gold cried and cried nearly died of laughter couldn't breathe and stop laughing appreciate a good laugh and the memories after all these years later somethings never go out of style appreciate you guys thanks way to go very impressed true comedy at its very best !!!! This first skit I recall watching both on Sundays and Saturdays as TV specials for the early day on popular programming channels. Everyone in the house would love to gather and watch. This was back in the late 70s into possibly the early 80s whenever it was now and then aired. I sure felt sad hearing Peter Sellers had a heart attack when I was young. He was a great guy. Really fun facial expressions and acting skills.
I remember in the 3rd grade and earlier I was obsessed with this series and Peter Seller's performance. And this was back in 2010, so I was seen as a weirdo or interesting kid for liking this kind of stuff. But it's fucking hilarious, THAT'S WHY.
Mishta Romaniello It is hilarious, back when I was 18,I laughed so hard ,I almost wet my pants, now at 59,I do.Laugh hard when your young, tears of laughter are great.
I remember my sister bringing me to the Pink Panther movies. She's a lot older than me and kept saying how the Burt Kwouk character was this awful Chinese stereotype. And. All these years later, I don't see any racism, here. It's like high level comedy. The older I get, the timing, the physical timing to their humor is WAY awesome. Not many could do this type of humor with Sellers. I like stereotypes. Pink Panther was super cool humor.
I remember watching this in a cinema just as my voice was beginning to break..I was peeing myself laughing so hard that my voice cracked so loudly the audience started laughing at me..I was mortified...but the slo-mo bit when they kick the periscope has me in stitches to this day
Absolute comedic gold, no one came close to Sellers when it came to Physical comedy, I know he's better remembered for Satire and his voices, but this right here is just perfection.
i rented all these from the library when i was younger, i saw this scene and it thought it was the most absolutely bonkers part of the movie, when he snapped that nunchuck end off on katos neck i was dying!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The setup for this scene is just as funny. Clouseau comes hone and looks around for Cato and we’re all expecting him to pop up somewhere. It’s only when the camera pans up do we see him hiding on top of the bed canopy
RIP Peter Sellers, Burt Kwouk, and Herbert Lom. Thank you all for the tremendous joy of scenes like this - you gave us such gifts to treasure.
And RIP Blake Edwards, who directed it :-)
The Dreyfuss slo mo scream is hilarious especially his little 'huh' when he collapses on the settee!
It is a take on the Bruce Lee battle cries in his kung fu movies.
Still get tears when watching this scene. It is hands down the funniest scene in any movie, ever!!
Yup. Me too!!
100% agree! As the tears roll down my legs 🤣🤣🤣
I guarantee you that if you like this I can change your mind by suggesting the funniest scene (admittedly its not in a movie) but ever!, is the "So you shot Twice? No, I shot twice, once..." scene in Police Squad. I beg you to look it up. I pissed myself laughing!

@@rbarnett3200 yea it was humorous definitely, but not tear jerking like this scene

Mike Meyers was most likely influenced by this movie, for THE SPY WHO SHAGGED ME! :)
it's my favorite part of the scene too
Nun chucks wraps around his head and all😭😭
And the over the top exploding TV 🤣
@@a.barnard3205 Oh wow...now that you mention it OF COURSE!! Well recognized! You nailed it.
When he hits Cato with the nunchuck and the slow mo scream changes 😂
Add to that the TV explodes :D
Come visit " The Clouseau Society" on FB !!
And the nunchuck breaks and flies off into the distance. Funnier than hell.
Next level comedy.
I’m a sucker for slapstick as it is.
This is a slapstick sugar high.
Kato not Cato
These 3 actors were amazing together. Pure comedic gold. 😂
"Relax, I'll get it." So CLASSIC!
My father took me to see this film, my very first Pink Panther movie. He had tears streaming down his face during this bit. Good memories.
My father introduced my brother and me to the PP movies and we had a blast watching these in the 80's, together with the family 🥰

My whole life i am convinced that was a real nunchuk to the back of that stunt mans head. It's just too real and the sound too😂😂😂 0:32
Hahahahahaha
1:35 The dramatic pause and "who's going to scream first" gets me every time. Cato is the best running gag ever!
I've just rewatched these films for the first time in many years and forgotten how brilliantly the gags felt natural and not forced like many comedies do nowadays. this film is still my favorite of them.
I used to make my dad rewind this scene all the time, it was so effing funny to me. Still is. 😂

Yeah, me too - that nunchuk breaking over Cato's head still has me in tears! The whole scene is funny but that moment is the standout!
Cato went through a lot of abuse, especially with the nunchuck hitting his back, and the chain breaking apart.
That was so brutal 😂😂

After Rush Hour of course
