Hi Levi, My family and I are from Central Florida and this weekend our family is in Lake City as volunteers for Crisis Cleanup. Anyone here who has trees in their yard, which is everyone, has at least one tree down. We were supposed to come back up here next weekend but it looks like we'll be cleaning up at home next weekend. I can tell you the Lake City Floridians are exhausted. You can hear them talking about it in Publix. They don't need another hurricane but it looks like they'll have impacts from Milton once again, and it looks like we will too!! Thank you for all of the detailed information, it helps us specifically to know what to pray for.
We cleaned up over a dozen water oaks today!! I will never live on land that has water oaks. They just pop out of the ground!

@@burkinfaso local news ABC click 10, Betty Davis is the chief meteorologist, is saying we are under flood watches. Some neighborhoods are already flooding. Hollywood, Edgewater, Aventura. So I guess it depends on where you are and your cities drainage system.

@@turkeybfreeActivity in the Atlantic was actually way below what was predicted, everyone including the National Hurricane Center thought there would be 20 storms by now, there's 13 as of now.
As someone that has lived in Tampa for a few years, I hope this isn’t the one in 100 year storm.

yup you are correct its milton already. i feel bad for us floridians because if another major strikes then say goodbye to insurance companies or expect further hikes. and this is not taking in to account the potential loss of property and lives that this will bring. :(

What is the state of Deep Ocean Heat in the Gulf? Normally the passage of a hurricane would bring up cooler water which would diminish the fuel for the next storm. But Jim Massa has been sounding the alarm for over 4 years that the oceans have stratified.
Is there a historical record for repeat storms in this area?
the major models that are saying its going to hit tampa at a 3 and 4 is this accurate or should I just stick to what the news and you say predicting a 2

The new runs look scary for Tampa/Orlando?Daytona/pos Jax...If this were to be worst case, people can only really evac through the Tally area since the East coast is still dealing with Helene. Lets hope these model runs are wrong. Tampa could see it's biggest disaster in modern history. Starting to seem like every major event turns into the record worst in recorded history these past few years.
Partly because we've had a huge amount of buildup in the time period when hurricane seasons didn't directly impact certain areas.

But the storm would be moving in the same genaral direction to the westerly shear so would that reduce the damage to the storm?

I looked at this about 6 a.m. and it wasn't that impressive... Came back 12 hours later to find Milton on a track for the greater Tampa Bay area... Depending on how long it stays at hurricane strength, storm surge impacts could be major. Hopefully people in the area, especially in those flood and surge prone areas, are getting their properties prepared and themselves and their valuables to safe ground.

From Plant City FL which is east of Tampa. I’m getting tired of these hurricanes. I’ve said many times I’m done and going to move, before the big one hits, but it doesn’t seem there is any safe place, but in the arms of Jesus. Jesus said: “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones [to death] those [messengers] who are sent to her [by God]! How often I have wanted to gather your children together [around Me], just as a hen gathers her young under her wings, but you were not willing!”
