2016 alumni here! While I’ve always been proud of my corps, this show felt like MCDC triumphantly finding their identity, their spirit again. This show made me feel more deeply than any since 2018, and reminds me of the show from early 2010’s that inspired me to March MCDC in the first place. If any 2024 members read this, RTN from a sentimental alumni, you made us all SO proud! ❤️🌟❤️
THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN IT MEANS A LOT. i know my account isn't like my personal account but i marched music city 24 and it was a blast. If it was possible i would love to march your stars to get you some representation on the field lol. BUT YEAH RTN ❤🌟❤ hopefully this years show will be even better :)
RTN '13 '14 alum. Amazing to see the growth of this corps in the last 10+ years. I remember coming home after 2013 making our first World Semis in the corps 5th year, and then getting the news we were folding only a week or two after the season. I was absolutely devastated. Thankful we were able to get back on the field in 2014 and eventually move up to World Class.
Now days it seems that DCI focuses more on who can wave the most rainbow flags instead of Brass Power.... It has got too artsy-fartsy for this old fellow... Spirit of Atlanta days... sad to see some of the old bands no longer in rotation too.
@@finkinator153 Actually this video is the perfect place to comment (the video allows comments doesn't it?)... You probable for some reason didn't like what I said... o well... That said, I do like DCI (older formats mainly) and think it is the top tier of marching bands. I am just of the opinion that today's shows are focused on things that distract to me (but I guess judging changes over time)... The bands are marched to the point of being too exhausted to really have the brass punch of older bands. Other rule changes also distract IMHO.... PAs, Mics... etc... Now my comment is concise, slightly laconic (as I don't have time to elaborate further), and not vulgar, if you have a problem with it, then you don't value free speech and wish to stifle it for some reasons of your own. Have a good day.
@@abbynormal7036 as someone who has marched both spirit last year and music city this year, it's a completely different activity than that of which you remember, but it's every bit as innovative and inclusive as it can get.
Definitely a criminally underrated show, by far my favorite show to not make finals

@@abbynormal7036 it's an entirely different idiom than that of which you remember, and that's okay.
