They deservedly got the top score in Broken Arrow. Over the Blue Devils!! The spot with just the flags sounds cool on video, but it's chilling in person.
WE will be blessed to see the Bluecoats performance in Allentown on Friday evening. Sooooo looking forward to seeing this live. I am new to DCI as a 70 + year old, and these performances are spectacular and breathtaking. Thank you for sharing and posting this. Best sound and video on youtube.
Not true. Why would you say this? BD and Boston both have really difficult music played well. That counts a very great deal. And their guards are both terrific, as usual. Boston's drill is performed beautifully accurately. BD's brass sounds their usual bold and powerful. Dont take scores so seriously just yet. The next weeks may probably see a greater range of score differences.
I mean they do stand alone but BD is close because they do everything at a high level and Boston is close because they have the best Guard and Drumline in the activity with a top brass line as well. What is there to hate on with these groups
i swear flo hate needs to chill out. flo marching never gets the perfect angles or audio setups every show, especially early season. the cameramen need to learn everyone’s show to properly get a good multicam out. microphones are always different and in different places too. These shows are made for an audience to watch, not someone from behind a screen. The speakers are always way ahead of the mics too. I completely disagree with the fact that it sounds better though. If you can’t deal with a few small camera mistakes watch the highcam, you can’t complain about that.
@@areussgg I understand that they miss the start of something, but it feels like they just focus on everything except for the center of attention. Like on bluecoats 2nd show, they literally just focused on the guard on a prop while the entire snare feature was panning out. They had like 30+ seconds to switch over to what was actually happening, but nope. I did hear that they do have that highcam option though, and that’s nice. Still not really $30 nice.
@@areussgg this by default sounds better because of the speaker placement, didnt say it was their fault but i enjoy hearing bloo's electronics and synths
Congratulations on an awesome recording of an awesome show. Most recordings have something overbalanced which ruins it. This came off pretty much perfect.
4:38 the sound of the flags, Doesn't record well on the video, but it was such an interesting sound to hear the whoosh of the flags as if they were also instruments. Isn't that the story of other goodies in here though - the reverb sound as it own character.
Winning show, just one thing, between 3:59-4:47 they need to have some strait file lines(like Cadets would do)and a spin move or some inter-rotation before meeting with the drum line...just sayin, love it tho!
Downside up was clean in a good amount of areas but sadly not all:(, just not consistently clean. One minute it'd be so good and then randomly issues come up. This show is so much consistent and I'm so excited to see how they do.
@@manuelrivera6632 dues vary by corps, for the coats this year they were around $6k i believe. charging dues seems a bit counterintuitive but it's the only way corps can cover food, transportation, housing, instruments/equipment/uniforms, etc for the season since there's just not enough money in the activity for it to be self-sufficient
The quarter notes at the beginning of their show, end of opener, and end of show really bug me. Who couldn’t cleanly play that? It’s probably one of the easiest intros I’ve heard and has no impact. Its so simple it honestly must have started clean. And then most of the opener is foreplay by Boston? Meh Build up to 12:26 is pretty cool Obviously they sound amazing, they’re the bluecoats. This show just doesn’t do much for me
Brother. You’re asking about 70-80 brass players to play one note at the same time. Now let’s add the distance between the center of the field where they start off vs where the front ensemble is. That distance can create sound delays but I don’t even believe that them messing up. There is a synth backing up the quarter notes in the beginning so it may sound a bit weird.
“Who couldn’t cleanly play that?” Sure it’s easy on paper but when there’s about 100 people on different instruments trying to attack and release together, things get tough; the real difference that makes this difficult is the silence that follows. You clearly hear the release, meaning if that hit isn’t perfectly executed it sounds like garbage. It’s not about chops, it’s about precision.
@@Hammondbrass I'd like to second as a percussionist with over two decades of experience, cold attacks are some of the HARDEST things to clean. Especially if you're spread across the field.
I disagree entirely. Sure it’s a little harder on drums but any marching band does and can do this. There’s literally three people on podiums giving you the downbeat. Might take you a portion of one rehearsal to find out where exactly to play in terms of where you are on the field. Other than those 30 minutes, I’m not sure what you guys are talking about. I mean you learn how to do this on day one at bandcamp in high school. And yes I have marching experience.
Anybody watching this clip, thinking they would be watching the, blue coats drum and bugle c o r p s, would be 100% disappointed because they're seeing a dance routine and a musical display of ballet. Definitely not the blue coats drum and bugle c o r p s😮😢😂😂
The faux echo effects (electronics) are pretty obnoxious. 5 minutes in and we already have 2 segments where the horns do nothing. Then they play (super easy ballad) Then another break where horns do nothing. Have you noticed how LITTLE drill this show has? Aside from the last minute when they manage to move a squiggle, they basically do nothing but freelance prance from spot to spot. I actually think improvement is everything. Change, just for the sake of change, is incredibly shallow.
Without a doubt the show of the year.
this aged perefectly
so deserved 🙏
Bro got the god seats
Right by the press box baby i love it
Those first hits….my gosh. I get so much anxiety. The crispness, the power. THE FINESSE

Amazing, mesmerising, powerful, fluid. Just wow!
The blend between the horn line and front ensemble is next level.
was there. absolutely breathtaking show. 4:44 flag feature was so unique.
I wish it was a whole minute of the show lmao

That Ballad Though… “Agape” Absolutely Beautiful 💙💙💙
so much improvement and I was just at denton
No doubt. Someone got the memo to turn down the amps & synths just a notch...& they did!!!
The synths and amps were fine at Denton. I was there. Watching on flo completely screws with the audio engineers work unfortunately.
@@marcelwilliams2120 real
I was thinking the same thing! Already so much cleaner than their Denton performance and it's only been 2 days
Shared this recipe with my kids, they LOVED it. Will definitely be baking it again! 🤌🏼
This is the best they've ever sounded🙌🏼🙌🏼
10:49 this is where the peak of it getting REAL good is.
(The ballad was splendid too but this just calms your brain a certain way 😍)
❤❤❤❤❤ There's noway BD n BAC should be close to them.

Flos camera angles are so shit that this is better perspective-wise also
It’s wild that it costs $30 a month hahaha

bac and phantom have my favorite shows this year, and id love to see bac get the gold, but this show is incredibly performed, and i like it a lot too
Oh, my word, the compression on the FloMarching recordings completely neuters the sound of this brass line. It’s so nice to hear them at full volume
Unbelievable show. Congrats, Bluecoats!
Most deserving as CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD👏👏👏👏
Incroyable show et quelle belle music !

Why did they change their colors.
Because DCI of today (not all the corps) have ZERO respect for the past, the tradition. It's all about ME, ME, ME.

On a brass instrument, playing one , short note in unison with empty space in between as an ensemble can be one of the most difficult things to do.
