Oh, I remember this one! Sadly the Italian version of the game used the localized English voice acting, while both the manga and anime over in Italy kept all of the original names, which created a bit of a discrepancy. Still, it's interesting to see these rare localized games - makes me think of one Lupin III game that only came out in Japan and Italy, "Rupan Sansei - Rupan ni wa shi o, Zenigata ni wa koi o", or as it was known here "Le avventure di Lupin III - Lupin la morte, Zenigata l'amore", kinda translated to "The adventures of Lupin III - Lupin is dead, Zenigata is in love", and it even had all of the anime's voice actors coming back for their roles. Thankfully I never actually purchased the game, just rented it.
It's awesome that you did this! Conan is also one of my favorite animes and it feels like nobody else in English speaking countries even knows it exists (despite it being on the level of DBZ and One Piece in Japan) a somewhat popular youtuber I already watched randomly dropping Conan content is a nice surprise
With so many episodes being stand alone its easier to watch it in chunks, that's how I caught up. Mini marathon followed by a few weeks of other things. I slotted in nicely when nothing else was on.
It's an anime with an interesting concept that is best suited for 3 or 4 seasons, but is now way past in overstaying its own welcome. I can just imagine Cowboy Bebop making a wrong turn if a studio gave a green light for more seasons and that way ruining an already perfect ending.
Me and my girlfriend watched all episodes together a few months ago Like 6 to 8 episodes per week It was a really fun time Escpecially some of the movies The TV movie The Disappearance of Conan Edogawa is legit my favorite anime movie ever and Movie 20 (The Darkest Nightmare) is just as good There are many awesome Conan movies But the series itself is extremly good too
Fun Fact: In the dub of Conan, Harley is said to come from Alberta, Canada. Which the galaxy-brained dub staff in Fort Worth, Texas didn't know was a province and not a city by the time they have an episode that takes place over there.
As someone who is up to date with Conan... (I know I've got too much time on my hands) I can say this the show still uses the same music today that they have from the beginning. The main theme might have been slightly remixed but ooof. Still its a good show and I wouldn't mind having more people who understood my mad conan ramblings.
Awesome video as always! I really love the madcap variety of games you cover nowadays. As a fellow (early years) Conan fan, this was a really fun take on a game I had no idea existed. Keep up the awesome work Charlie! =D

Damn TGB / Charlie , I remember seeing you years ago and you were (skinny as hell) the complete opposite physically the way you are now (buff as hell). Excellent work on building up the muscle dude.
I remember that game. I remember enjoying it well enough when I was getting heavily into the Phoenix wright games (and I've been a fan of Detective Conan since it aired in the U.S.). In fact it kind of reminds me of the Edgeworth spin offs. Granted, it's definitely of a much lower quality and in a revisit the flaws really stuck out, but It still seemed respectful enough of the IP even though it was a low budget game. Which is why I can't really get behind the comparison to the Blood+ (another series I like) game you talked about recently. This Detective Conan game may be like a bad filler episode and I mean bad not because it is filler (much of the anime itself is actually filler), but bad because it tries to draw what would be a normal filler episode over several hours as if it is somehow bigger than it all. And honestly, a lot of the flaws seem to come down more to the poor localization and dub than to the game itself. I doubt the Japanese game is that great either, but those things likely didn't help it at all. But if The Mirapolis Investigation seems a bad filler episode, then that Blood+ game reads like a bad fanfiction, which imo is even worse. Worse yet, Regardless of the person in charge, it just seems so disrespectful to the IP, especially to force an OC into such an important role as a secondary protagonist. The way I see it, it might as well have just been an original IP at that point. Even if the quality was extremely high, it would still seem hypocritical to give it a pass when fans normally try to push for faithful adaptions and such. When it comes to licensed media, it seems like as a fan one must sometimes choose between something that is good and something that is a good representation of whatever it is a license of. And there are definitely things that are more or less made for fans and aren't that appealing to non-fans. And sometimes there are media that actually are the opposite. Which seems kind of interesting because somebody could use it as a gateway to become a fan of an IP and then later on revisit what got them started as a fan and even if they still hold an appreciation for it they may feel that it wasn't actually a good representation. IMO, somebody playing Mirapolis Investigation might get into Detective Conan based on the premise and even though the game itself is heavily flawed and low budget, they got a pretty accurate picture of what the series is like. Somebody playing that Blood+ game on the other hand got an incomplete and somewhat inaccurate picture of what Blood+ was about. Maybe it would draw them in anyway, and maybe they would enjoy the series despite the deception from the game, or maybe they would be completely put off by it because they got the wrong impression of it.
My only experience with Detective Conan is the Lupin III crossover movies. I guess it's nice to know that it wasn't just those that did a bad job of establishing Conan's supporting cast.
