I am a redarc guy through and through but after researching the specs on the site, it says not meant of engine bay. But knowing their quality I am sure it can handle the heat but weird it is not meant for engine bay. How has your experience been with it operating in the wheel well?? How has the bluetooth range beeen? For the price it should be waterproof and has mentioned in previous comments I hope they change that soon.
I bought one yesterday and then read that in the manual. I'm gonna mount it up the front grill and see how it goes. Surely it's able the take a bit of a beating.
How long did it take for your monitor to start showing the battery percentage, and do you know if you disconnect the battery will it have to "re-learn" the battery when you reconnect. I installed this today and it still it is showing 0% on the battery capacity.
Great videos! Hey, I just noticed that you're from Minnesota and also just discovered that @destinationjourney_overland is also from Minnesota. I just moved to Champlin with my family from Iowa. I don't have an "overland rig" just yet - just my Subaru Ascent which I plan to replace with a 4Runner when the lease ends next year. But seeing two other overlanders from Minnesota is very promising. Do you have much luck finding places to explore in Minnesota? Iowa was pretty terrible in that regard as much of the land is privately owned.
hey mate nice vid! i just purchased this yesterday fairly simple install. just writing to see how your big battery display is and how long it took to show the percentage? mine is like 24hrs old and no sign yet and cant find details anywhere on time frame cheers mate

I just got their email today. You got that fast. Victron says theirs is waterproof. It's sad RedArc is not. I really like their stuff
Haha, yeah I had the inside scoop. I think for the meantime they don't plan to waterproof it but I think eventually it should be.
