They wore those white wigs because live were everywhere. So the rich people shaved their heads or put lice powder on their heads, so to cover up their gross heads they wore wigs
Your comments here were were so adorable. The stick is called the bow. The bow is strung with horsehair which you see flying away as the boys rock out. The cello is a fretless string instrument in the Violin family (violin, viola, cello, bass, and double bass). It's incredibly difficult to play. Yes, the cello and those two guys are making all of those sounds. And the band that did "Thunderstruck" is AC/DC. Mixing up Metallica and AC/DC is like mixing up The Sugarhill Gang with Nas. They both kinda do the same thing, but really... not at all.

rolling on the ground while playing is a tribute to ACDC guitar player that does it when performing this song. 2Cellos do it also in concert, you can see it in video of their concert in Verona from 2016 that is on their YT channel
Every time I watch 2Cellos do Thunderstruck, I end up with a grin from ear to ear. The slow rise to 'Thunder!' lifts the spirit and the pulse. As they say in the classics, it's fucking glorious.

They do not dub in guitars. It is just these guys making a new lane to travel. I've seen them play with a drummer and I've seen them play with Steve Vai in a video.

I believe they are from Croatia. May need to double check that. But they were actual rivals as young boys in school. They are arguably the best cellists of this generation. They were classically trained all their lives and even played for the Royal Family. Absolutely phenomenal musicians.

Their version of Smooth Criminal got seen by Elton John and he brought them on tour with him. They go through a ton of bows. They tear them up.

Van you gotta watch 2 Chellos cover of "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N Roses. They do it in the center of some town and gather a ton of people around to watch. It's how I was first introduced to them.

Everything they're doing is absolutely real brother it's awesome! You should check out their concert that is in an outdoor Amphitheater I believe it's Italy Coliseum it's phenomenal! They even do some Michael Jackson!
Its Pula in Croatia, where they're from. Its also where they film by the fountain. I originally thought the same, but now want to visit Pula, it is beautiful

I have played cello since I was a kid in elementary school. They are doing everything that I you hear with their cellos guaranteed.
I watched them live, they're brilliant. Its just them and a drummer.
A bow 🫶 and us cellists can rock any which direction the music sends us.
I've seen them live. He legit drops to the floor, ala AC/DC's Angus Young, and hits that high note. There's no guitar (though their cellos are electric), he's gripping the string as tight as he can as close to the high end of the fingerboard as possible. It's insane. Big difference in the live shows is there's a drum kit to make it a full rock show. One of the most entertaining things you'll ever see, the talent of these guys is stupid.
I saw their Vegas Show early this year. They are the real thing. Pure Talent

These guys are AMAZING! I’ve binged all of their videos.
Twin ladies do Matellica on Harps along with other famous songs. Camille and Kennerly are their names. They do Matellica song called One, Sweet Child Of Mine by Guns and Roses, My Immortal by Evanescence, Fear Of The Dark by Iron Maiden just to name a few. The wand is called a Bow.

Classically trained musician here. I assure you that ALL those sounds ARE made by them on the cellos. They may have dubbed a touch (background rhythm) so that they could show off both visually and with virtuoso but, let's face it, I highly doubt that prior to these two there even WAS a version of Thunderstruck on cello!

It's a bow not a stick. The strings are on the Cello. You should hear them play MJ. There are no guitars other than background! Remember that guitar strings are cello strings! And it's ACDC! Yes he did make that sound with his Chelly. There is a microphone in the Chello, and if you get the high pitch it will cause that high pitch. These 2 dudes are epic

The sound at the end is from electric cello. Like electric guitar they make electric violin 🎻 and other string instruments you can see them use their electric cellos in some of their other videos
They actually have electric cellos connected to an amp. So yes they actually are making those sounds on cellos, just not traditional cellos

The white wigs were part stylistic choice, part hygienic. Lice were a big problem among the common people back then and would easily spread among crowds. If you were wearing a powdered wig, the lice would get onto your wig instead of your hair and would die on the wig in about a day because they wouldn't be able to get to your scalp for a blood meal. Then the next day you could just comb out any dead lice from the wig, add some fresh powder to make it smell nice(body odor was an issue too), and go about your day looking sharp, lice free, and smelling powder fresh.
