      It helps you to see which food might be triggering you, such a shortcut to test with an elimination diet!

    Very helpful.
    Please If you have a video about allergy friendly supplements or vitamins that don't have additive in them
    Could you please link the video?
    If you dont have one
    could you please make one
    and talk about what supplements you take since you have different food allergies
    I also do have alot of different allergies and I dont take any supplement as of now but that started to affect me negatively so I am trying to do something about it .

      Hi love! I don’t have a video about this, but I’ve been struggling searching for new ones as I can’t consume sunflower or rice right now. I’ve tried a few that are top 8 allergen free and once I’m home, I can share those links with you in this comment section!
      Also what sort of supplements are you looking for? Right now I’m only taking B12, D3, and Vitamin C. Are you deficient on something that your doctor recommended to take? Also what are you allergic to?

      I think I need b12 because I rarely consume meat and I am allergic to dairy and eggs
      I may also need iron.
      I am currently searching for a multivitamins that doesn't have additive.
      Thank you

    thank you SO Much for this video Ingrid! I've been managing with my nut / peanut cravings despite that I miss it a lot, but I know it is asking for trouble if I consume it. I think you mentioned that coconut did not trigger reactions for you? I've found coconut oil / milk is very safe and no reactions. =) Thank you again for posting this!

      Hi Sheelie!! Ohhh I completely understand you, it can be hard to manage those cravings! Have you looked into granola butter? It's a new product, I've been enjoying! and yay to those positive news about coconut! Sending you a big hug and happy new year!!

      @@ipinkit oh, no i have not heard of or tried! that sounds really interesting for sure!
      i had another reaction sadly to the coconut because often it is processed alongside other nuts =( so i think it best to avoid for now. i'm not allergic to wheat so i'm able to have most grains. i just have nothing to eat with my bread lol because, peanut / other nut butter isn't possible! i hope i can try that granola butter.

    When I eat anything with traces of soy or GMO corn I break out with tiny itchy pustules on my face. They are not hives and I don't have allergies. I realized it was intolerances which are different.

    Actually, according to my specialist, the blood tests are more accurate. This is because there's certain conditions that can cause false positives on the skin test. I happen to have one of those conditions myself.

      I've also heard that from my allergy specialist. I've been avoiding the foods he mentioned but it hasn't helped so it seems like my eczema is being triggered by the environment.

    • @ipinkit
      @ipinkit  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for sharing, the more we know the better to help each other care for our allergies!! It’s good to know there are conditions that can create false positives, would you mind sharing what’s called? Ive heard the tests aren’t accurate all the time, so I really trust my body and check the symptoms I experience. I did a test that showed I was no longer allergic to chickpeas, started to consumed them and had a horrible rash for a month. It went away once I stopped consuming them!

    • @ipinkit
      @ipinkit  2 роки тому +1

      How long have you been avoiding them? My last horrible eczema flare up lasted three months, I avoided all the foods my allergy at recommended me to eliminate and I wasn’t seeing any betterment. Our bodies take time to heal sadly. Also, apart from the environment, my eczema is triggered by personal care items or even dish soap, check if the products you use might be causing irritation! For example, aveeno isn’t gluten free, if I use it it hurts my skin so much as I’m allergic to wheat.

      @@ipinkit It's called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. There's a couple other similar illnesses, like mastocytosis and Hereditary Alpha Tryptasemia, that also have this issue. This group of illnesses (known collectively as mast cell activation disorders/MCAD) causes pseudo-allergies/intolerances, and when it flares, you can become progressively allergic/intolerant to more and more things. Then you stop being allergic to those things when the flare is over.
      With mast cell disorders, none of the allergies it causes are real allergies, instead causing intolerances/pseudo-allergic symptoms. With the skin test though, those pseudo-allergies would often test positive as real allergies (when they wouldn't via blood test), and even things that aren't typical triggers for the patient can cause reactions during the skin test if they already reacted to something else in the test. In this way, a skin test is pretty dangerous for MCAD patients, since it can easily make the patient spiral into a flare. And the test results wouldn't even be accurate, so it wouldn't be worth it, for those with one of these conditions.
      And yeah totally! It's super important to listen to your body! Intolerances are just as important to take into account as real allergies. It's just a complicated process to test for these things, since intolerance tests are different from allergy tests. I'm a huge advocate for food diaries and reading labels, since that's how I've always determined my own triggers.

    I believe I am developing a rice allergy, every time I eat rice 2 hours later i get hives somewhere random on my body (only one spot) and itchy so itchy from my scalp all over and it last for hours sometimes a day depending. I notice the same reaction with celery, oats, and potatoes most allergist test for the main allergen like dairy, soy, wheat etc. Which I already know I can't tolerate I cut out dairy about a year ago when I noticed my mouth got super itchy after eating anything dairy and I would have stomach pain. I have no idea what's going on I've only been able to eat three foods, applesauce and broccoli everything else seems to make my mouth go numb or my whole body itch. I'm only in my 20s and feel like my body is falling a part, I'm waiting for an allergist appointment in the meantime and dosing up on Benadryl on the daily.
