Hi I just found your channel. I had to chuckle when you were so excited about being in 2020. It has been a wild year and as we end 2020 we will all be excited for 2021. Enjoy your style of explanation. Love your accent, I am from the USA. I love learning from people in other countries. Quilting is so exciting wherever you live. Look forward to learning new ways of quilting.
Thank you for this awsom video ive also purchased your quilt as you go love them this whole process is fun and i love that the hexagons sew together so nicely its nice to have both Epp and machine Thank you
I am so looking forward to the delivery of the templates and cannot wait to make your hexagon quilt! This is a good first time quilt for a newbie, as well.
Love this method. Before Christmas a sewing friend came over and we made a Christmas table runner each with your quilt as you go hexie. They turned out so nice. Everyone else was so impressed with our runners.
I just purchased my hexi Missouri star set at my local quilt shop in Michigan, in the usa. I am loving this idea! I found a wonderful book at my local library. The step by step needlecraft encyclopedia. They have your hexi in the paper piecing section on pgs 136, 137 & 138! Cant wait to start.
Happy New Year to you as well. Great video!. Thank you for sharing your talent on quilt as you go. I am so glad I found you. Looking forward to learning something new again. I truly appreciate your free sharing videos.
Thanks Bridget, the next is in production (AKA Dave my husband) is editing it at the moment, I'm hoping to post one every couple of weeks...ekk I hope I can keep it up!! Happy Sewing New Year XXX
Thanks for the video. I've made a charm pack's worth of hexies and plan to make more before sewing them together. I'd have liked to see the back of the piece as well!
Hello there. I like your demos and enjoy quilting, although I haven't made myself a quilt yet... I have played with hand stitching and paper piecing and loving it. I would like to go a bit further with quilting and I have an ordinary sewing machine but I would like to know what one you are using, or is there a machine you recommend??
Most classes use Janome. They are quite straight forward but there is a huge choice and price range. mechanical or electronic for one. Best bet is to test them out and see options at your local store I'd say.
How many hexie's do you think you would need to make a twin size? And what are your settings for the zig-zag stitch? 💕 Are you back stitching with a zigzag or a straight stitch? Sorry for all the questions!!
Hi Linda, I use 80/20 quilting wadding (80% cotton, 20% polyester), anything with a high polyester count is a bit too puffy. I hope that helps. Nicola X
I am a very lucky and blessed lady, my beautiful Hexagon necklace was sent to me by 2 lovely customers Sandra and Tracey after I had seen Sandra wearing it at festival of quilts and said how wonderful it was. I'm sorry I don't know where they got it from though, but I love it. Happy Sewing New Year Jo Ann XXX

Hello Nicola, thank you for your videos. I have your hexie ruler and love using it however a lot of the edges never seem to be the same length and stretching the fabric has made my runner wonky. Can you please tell me what I’m doing wrong?
Hello Shirley, thanks for your email , I'm sorry that you have a wonky runner!! So lets go through it, firstly I take it you are using the outer hexagon on top of the large hexagon to make sure the main hexagon is placed centrally? Just check that you aren't moving it slightly when pinning it in place, I have had that happen occasionally. Secondly are you turning the binding the correct amount (evenly) as per photo instructions? This can also result in an uneven hexagon. Lastly the hexagon will always have slightly different edge lengths (I'm talking millimetres only though) and so you can normally match them up, or like I did in the video slightly pull and push into place. I hope this helps, if not my email me a photo and I might be able to see better what's happening. Love Nicola X

Where can I find the larger template? I'm only seeing 2.5".
Could you use a twin needle to join the rows?
How many hexie's do you think you would need to make a twin size? And what are your settings for the zig-zag stitch?

How do you finish a quilt like this but with a straight edge?
No walking foot? One of my squares keeps jumping foreward.
Where can I buy the template please?

Thank you Nicola.
I think a true quilt should be done by hand not on a machine
